From this standpoint, death marks the irrevocable end of conscious existence.       I The Biological Reality of Death

      From a secular standpoint, the understanding of death is fundamentally rooted in the biological reality of the human organism. It is a view that emphasizes the tangible, observable, and measurable aspects of death, specifically the cessation of vital functions, with a primary focus on brain activity as it relates to conscious awareness.       1. Brain Function and Consciousness

      At the heart of the secular perspective on death is the intrinsic connection between consciousness and the functioning of the brain. These criteria serve as objective indicators of the irreversible nature of this state.
