    How to Use This Guide

This guide was created to accompany the book Tired of Being Tired: Receive God’s Realistic Rest for Your Soul-Deep Exhaustion. While you can complete the guide without reading the book, I recommend enhancing your experience by pairing them together.

Each session of the guide correlates with a few chapters of Tired of Being Tired. If you’re reading as an individual, take your time. Read, reflect, and respond in a way that embodies the very rest you hope to find in these pages.

If you are reading in a group, have an honest conversation with one another about the pace that will work best for each of you. If a six-week structure is too short a time frame for everyone to stay on top of reading and reflecting, consider a twelve- or even eighteen-week structure. The heart of the book and study guide is to help one another find rest, not to increase burdens or to-do lists. Choose a structure that infuses grace and peace into the group before you even begin to read or meet.

    Session Structure

This guide contains six sessions, each with the following sections:

    A Note from Jess

    Savor the Scripture

    Read and Reflect

    Guided Journaling

    Symptom Checker

    Low Power Mode Plan

    Set the Script

    Community Questions

    Prayer

The Community Questions sections assume that you’re completing the study in a group setting, such as a Bible study, community group, or book club. If you’re reading and studying independently, feel free to answer those questions on your own!

    For Group Leaders

If you are facilitating a group of women working through this study guide, first of all, thank you! While I celebrate those who choose to read individually, I have a great love for the conversations and healing I know can take place when women gather to read, study,
