Chapter 94

Third POV.

What do you mean? Amanda asked with a frown on her face.

They are some we can't find, the elder repeated once more.

Do you mean that they have been kidnapped? Marcus asked but deep down he hoped that it was just a dream.

Yes, we can't find their bodies, thus it means that they have been kidnapped, Tabitha said as she walked towards them.

Six people have been kidnapped in total, she said as she looked at them.

Leila was dumbfounded. She couldn't stop but wondered whether if she had been here in the first place and let the rogues get Madeline through getting information through the council would have suffered everyone.

She knew that the king was stabbed because they walked into the room. She closed her eyes hoping she was in a dream but that was shattered when she opened her eyes.

Elana what are we going to do? she asked as she panicked, making Elana pat her back hoping it would soothe her.

First we need to go to the palace to see whether the old king has been found. If they have been kidnapped then we will work extra hard then we attack them and save our own people, Elana said and looked at the others who nodded their heads in agreement since it was a good idea.

There was nothing they could do if the old king and the others were kidnapped. Going after them and rescuing them will only be a suicide mission.

Okay, Leila said as she stood since she understood that there was nothing she could do to help.

She felt guilty and wished that she was the one who had been kidnapped.

The family of three and the councils walked back to the palace.

Upon arriving at the living room, they found Aurora, Jordan and Doris.

Leila let go of her sister's hand and ran towards Aurora and knelt before her.

Hearing footsteps, Aurora and the others looked up and saw them.

Aurora, have you found your father? she asked in a haste.

The tears which had failed to come out even though Aurora had tried to cry when she failed to see her father fell down when she saw Leila.

She threw herself on Leila making them fall on the floor.

Sorry, Aurora mumbled as she sniffed, wiped away her tears and got up from Leila's body.

No, it is okay. You can cry all you want, Leila said as she sat down and dragged Aurora.

Aurora cried harder after being told that. Leila embraced her as she patted Aurora's back to sooth her.

Although her question had not been unanswered, by seeing how Aurora was crying, they had an answer in their hearts. Knowing that did not help Leila as she felt that she should just die so that no one may suffer, kidnap or die.

After some minutes of only Aurora's cries being heard, they heard the sound of the front door being opened.

Aiden ran inside throwing anything that was on his way out of anger.

When he saw Aurora in Leila's arms crying, he walked over, took Aurora by side and threw Leila on the side making her hit the couch.

Everyone was shocked by his violence and wondered what was wrong. Aurora stopped crying and looked at the scene in shock.

Brother, why did you do that to her? What if you injured her? Aurora asked as wiped her tears and tried to get out of her brother's arms.

Aiden looked at hIS sister who was still struggling.

Why shouldn't I hurt her? Isn't it her fault that dad has been kidnapped? Aiden asked loudly.

Aurora slapped him, shocking everyone and Aiden looked at her in disbelief.

Are you slapping me because of that jinx? he asked as he touched his cheek.

A jinx? Brother, maybe I should remind you that she is your mate so you better watch out what you say. Also, it isn't her fault that dad has been kidnapped. I warned you in the morning. I told you all before you left that I could feel that something bad was going to happen and you should not leave but did you listen to me? No! If there is anyone to blame here is you, Aurora said as she slapped him.

You, you are the reason that dad has been kidnapped, not her. She is your mate and my sister and dad are her father. Remember that, she continued yelling.

Aiden stood there as he looked at her. He had never seen his sister so angry at him.

But she is the reason they have ambushed the kingdom twice, he said as he did not want to admit that it was his fault.

She is your mate and you are supposed to give her the protection she needs. Is it her fault that the rogues are after her? Do you think anyone wants to have some powerful enemies? I wish that she can reject you because you are a disappointment to us, Aurora said as she got out of Aiden's arms.

Also, they were here for Madeline, she is the rogue alpha's mate. I know that you will still say that it is Leila's fault that Madeline has been locked up thus I am gonna say this and I hope you will remember it. There is a reason the moon goddess gave me this gift. She gave it to me so that something can be avoided. Whatever happened today, could have been avoided if you listened to me. They ambushed them because they knew that the king and the most powerful warriors were present. I am sure that they wouldn't have ambushed you if you listened to me, she said before walking away.

Leila was still looking at Aiden in disbelief. She never thought that he would hurt her. She tried to think what her next move would be cause she knew that she was not welcomed in the palace anymore.

Grandma, where am I the one who is always hated and always suffering? she asked herself inwardly as her heart ached and wished to cry.

She averted her gaze from him and stood up slowly before walking away without saying anything to anyone.

Chapter 95

Third POV.

Leila did not dare go to Aiden's room. She went to her sisters. Even though she could go to Aurora, she did not want to in fear that Aurora might also blame her for her father's kidnap and end up hating her.

She laughed at herself since she had become stronger than before but after what happened today, she knew that she was just lying to herself.

Too broken to handle anything and afraid that she might think too much and end up being a crying baby, she gave Amaya control and locked herself up before lying on the couch.

Aiden had walked to his study since he was afraid that he would find Leila in the bedroom.

He closed his eyes as his fingers ran in his hair in frustration. Everything that happened today rang on his mind making him feel as if he could punch someone.

He knew he was at fault. Even without being told by anyone, he knew that if he had listened to Aurora nothing would have happened to his father, the warriors who died would still be in the gym practising.

Guilt started eating him whole but soon shook it off as he tried to convince himself that it was Leila's fault and not his. If she had never shown up at the kingdom, they wouldn't have been ambushed twice, no one would have died or even kidnapped.

He hated her with his all.

Aiden, Jordan called out as he walked into the study.

Despite Aiden being their king, he was still their best friend.

What? Aiden asked with a frown on his face.

We will find him but please don't blame Leila. She did everything in her power to make sure everyone is okay but still, there are warriors and elders who died and also, your father and five elders have been kidnapped, Jordan explained, making Aiden turn and look at him.

So it isn't just my father who has been kidnapped? he asked, making Jordan nod his head.

You left me behind to guard both Leila and Aurora, as they were in the practising chamber, Aurora requested that I may go and guard your father and I followed her command. After some hours, we were shocked when we felt rogues and they were coming to the conference. We started fighting them immediately.

Some few minutes later, Leila accompanied by Aurora and Doris showed up. They ran towards the conference room but found it was locked and I was shocked but shrugged it off thinking that they might have seen us fighting thus they locked themselves for security. I don't know how Leila succeeded in breaking the door but she did.

We found there were rogues in the room surrounding the old king and the council. The king was on the ground bleeding evident he had been stabbed. To make sure that the rogues didn't turn against us, I think Leila used her powers to control them to be under her command. As she was dealing with the rogue leader, she requested that we should call some warriors in to make sure there wasn't anyone who escaped. We think that there was a rogue who had hid his scent and walked together with pour warriors succeeding in kidnapping the king when we were looking at the rogues, If you want to be angry then please get angry at me not your mate, Jordan concluded and lowered his head afraid of looking at Aiden and facing his wrath.

If it wasn't her fault then tell me why would the rogues attack us?

As you were told, Madeline is their alpha's mate. She had been told to cause a drift between you and Leila before their next meeting but she failed to show up. Afraid that she had been caught, the Alpha sent his warriors to save his mate. I think they also attacked the elders since they knew they had powers and to use them against us. You know, for them to become their weapon, Jordan answered as he lifted his head.

Why did they take dad? Aiden asked as he tried not to sound weak and cry.

I think they want to use him as a bargaining chip after all, we have their Luna, Jordan said, making Aiden nod.

Aiden please go and apologise to Leila, if you lose her, you may end up regretting it, he said thinking that Aiden had stopped being angry but he was wrong since Aiden's face turned gloomy and cold upon hearing his words.

Get out and don't forget your place! Mind your own business! he said coldly, making Jordan take steps backwards out of fear.

Please forgive me my king. I will take my leave, he said with a bow before turning around and leaving.

As he walked outside, he found Doris, Eric and Matteo waiting for him.

How did it go? Eric asked immediately as he walked out.

Jordan shook his head, making them sigh in defeat.

In that one week that they had stayed with Leila, they had gotten close to her and knew her character wll. Seeing her being treated the way Aiden was treating her, they pitied her. To them, she was an amazing queen and there was no way they were going to let Aiden mess everything up.

What are we going to do? Doris asked in a low tone.

We just need to wait and hope for the best cause there is nothing we can do. Also, we can talk to both Marcus and Elana and talk them out of leaving the kingdom. Leila should stay here instead of leaving, Matteo said, making them nod their head as they agreed to his words.

Both Elana and Marcus returned to their room with gloomy faces and in silence as each of them had something on their head.

They were shocked when they saw Leila laid on the couch.

Leila, Elana called as she sat beside her.

Amaya lifted her head and looked at Elana.

Where is Leila? she asked with a frown.

She has shut herself. Let her stay there till she comes out instead of being hurt by some bastard, Amaya responded angrily but Marcus nodded.

For once, we have both agreed on something, he said, making Elana and Amaya roll their eyes.

We will be leaving in a few. Please go and pack her belongings.

Chapter 96

Third POV.

No, we aren't leaving, Amaya said as she shook her head.

They looked at her in confusion as they did not understand her or why she was saying that.

Why? I thought that you hated Aiden? You can use this opportunity to get you and Leila out of here and out of his life, Marcus asked with a frown on his face as he was confused.

Even if I can, I won't. Leila loves him so much as the wolf in us. I can't hurt them as I will be hurting myself too, Amaya said, making them remain silent as they understood her.

The mate bond works in a weird way thus they know nothing will make Leila stop loving Aiden after just some hours of argument.

But don't you think that it will hurt them more when they continue seeing him treating them indifferently? Elana asked with worry in her eyes.

She wanted what was best for her sister. Seeing her in pain also made her heart ache. She was after all, like Leila's mother and a mother had to protect her child from any pain.
