Description

The real estate market is hard enough without a malevolent neighbor who's been sending threatening messages for over 100 years. This week, Amy and Chris discuss the mystery of The Watcher, a supposed family who has been keeping guard of a Westfield, New Jersey home for over a century.Derek and Maria Broaddus purchased the home in 2014, and that's when their nightmare began. Even before they were able to move in, they started receiving letters with creepy messages, referring to them as "young blood," hinting at secrets hidden within the walls, and making it clear that they were watching them as they moved around the house. The situation got so out of hand that they decided to sell the home at a loss. So who is the Watcher? We may never know.Plus, in a bonus story, Amy details the List Family Mansion murders, which is only 10 minutes away from the Westfield Watcher home. On November 9, 1971, John List murdered his entire family one by one, wrote a confession, then fled to the airport.Send your true crime suggestions to hello@truecrimerecaps!Support the show AND listen ad-free here!: https://truecrimerecaps.supercast.tech/Get 10% Off by visiting BetterHelp.com/recapsFollow TCR on YouTube here!Follow TCR on Instagram here!Follow TCR on Facebook here! Learn more about your ad choices.
