Description
Today, the Safari takes another break from zoo visits as I sit down and talk with world-famous author Mary Alice Monroe, author of "The Beach House" (also a movie starring Andie McDowell), and a series of books for young readers called The Islanders, including her brand new book, "Search For Treasure." While we do spend time discussing the book, the focus on this interview is actually the fact that Mary Alice uses her fiction to share a conservation message! "Search For Treasure" will teach readers about alligators, just as The Beach House and "The Islanders" will teach readers about sea turtles! Along with her writing, Mary Alice is also a volunteer on the Island Turtle Team, and a board member of both The Leatherback Trust and the South Carolina Aquarium!
