FAO Transforms Fair 2024: Knowledge and Collaboration for a Better Future

Experiences FAO Transforms Fair
Context

Agrifood systems face multiple and complex challenges that require strategic action to ensure a better future. Promoting food security with an inclusive approach in the territories where food is produced requires innovative responses committed to transforming current conditions. To this end, developing and strengthening the capacity to integrate the lessons learned from these initiatives is essential. In this scenario, resource partners who trust in FAO's action and capacity play a central role in achieving substantive changes.

After two successful versions, the FAO Transforma Fair seeks to highlight inspiring projects that have been carried out recently and that can be replicated and scaled up to other areas of Latin America and the Caribbean. This event will highlight projects framed within FAO's priority areas of improvement: Better Production, Better Nutrition, Better Environment, and Better Life. In addition, initiatives that promote better institutional support within FAO will be presented as in previous years.

The transformations required by the region can only be carried out collaboratively. For this reason, this event seeks to highlight the relationship and joint work with different FAO resource partners. Some of those invited will be representatives of leading international cooperation funds and agencies to share their experience and commitment to sustainable development goals at the global level. The objective is to create a space for dialogue to emphasize the importance of strengthening current collaboration mechanisms and mobilizing resources to achieve these goals through financing projects such as those that will be presented.

The organization of this activity is the result of a joint effort between the FAO Campus Knowledge Management team, the Resource Mobilization Unit, and the Communications team of the FAO Regional Office for Latin America and the Caribbean. This event will feature ten initiatives selected from more than 25 applications considered innovative, scalable, and representative of different countries in the region, with the support of various sponsors.
