Hazard Mitigation Officers
FEMA's Hazard Mitigation Assistance grant programs are provided to states, tribes or territories who are applicants. These entities manage funds and provide sub-grants to local governments. Local communities can contact their respective hazard mitigation officer for more information.

Hazard Mitigation Assistance Trifold Brochure (Printable)
FEMA has updated (June 2024) its printable Hazard Mitigation Assistance (HMA) trifold brochure, making it easier to share information about its grant programs and other funding opportunities. The trifold is printable in color or black and white and discusses eligibility, including common activities that are eligible for HMA funding, by program; and reviews cost-share requirements.

The 2022 Hazard Mitigation Assistance Summer Engagement Series is a multi-part webinar series that will bring FEMA subject-matter experts and partners together to provide technical information, best practices, tools and resources regarding the HMA grant programs.

On March 23, 2023, FEMA published the Hazard Mitigation Assistance Program and Policy Guide to replace the 2015 Hazard Mitigation Assistance Guidance and Addendum. This helpful resource is for state, local, tribal and territorial prospective applicants and subapplicants. Information is to help entities navigate the application and grant lifecycle processes for several hazard mitigation programs. In August 2022, FEMA published a 30-day public comment period in the Federal Register.
