UFC Fight Night Denver Results And Bonus Winners

Following

Rose Namajunas got the job done in the main event of UFC Denver on Saturday night at the Ball Arena.

With Saturday's unanimous-decision win over Tracy Cortez, the former two-time strawweight champion has won two in a row at flyweight. Despite her strong performance and a display of her well-rounded game in the win, the future Hall-of-Famer, Rose Namajunas, was not among the bonus winners.

Here is a list of the results from Saturday, July 13, in Denver, and the bonus winners from a night with a ton of finishes.

  • Rose Namajunas defeats Tracy Cortez by unanimous decision (49-46, 49-46, 48-47)
  • Muslim Salikhov defeats Santiago Ponzinibbio by split decision (28-29, 29-28, 29-28)
  • Jean Silva defeats Drew Dober by TKO (doctor’s stoppage) at 1:28 of Round 3 - FOTN
  • Gabriel Bonfim defeats Ange Loosa by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28)
  • Julian Erosa defeats Christian Rodriguez by submission (guillotine choke) at 4:49 of Round 1
  • Abdul Razak Alhassan and Cody Brundage ruled a No Contest (accidental blows) at 0:37 of Round 1
  • Charles Johnson defeats Joshua Van by knockout (right uppercut) at 0:20 of Round 3 - POTN
  • Jasmine Jasudavicus defeats Fatima Kline by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)
  • Montel Jackson defeats Da’Mon Blackshear by knockout (left hand) at 0:18 of Round 1 - POTN
  • Luana Santos defeats Mariya Agapova by submission (rear-naked choke) at 3:27 of Round 1
  • Andre Petroski defeats Josh Fremd by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)
  • Evan Elder defeats Darrius Flowers by submission (arm-triangle choke) at 1:46 of Round 2

Bonus Winners

The UFC got it right with every $50,000 bonus they awarded in Denver. Dober and Silva put on the most spirited scrap of the evening on the main card. Silva’s striking power and his chin were on full display.

He opened a nasty gash over Dober’s right eye with a spinning back elbow in the first round. The cut was worsened by the same strike in the third, which led to the Octagonside doctor calling an end to the Fight. It was a great fight and well worth the Fight of the Night bonus it received. Montel Jackson’s power is pretty amazing.

He scored the second-fastest finish in men’s bantamweight history with his 18-second destruction of Da’Mon Blackshear on the prelims. Take a look at this and take note of Dominick Cruz’s timely call of the finish and the strike type.

It was only 18 seconds of work, but well worth a bonus. Jackson has won five fights in a row and might be ranked in the Top 15 in the UFC’s next update.

Charles Johnson got the other bonus of the night for his third-round KO win over Joshua Van. Johnson increased his aggression in the third round in a close fight that he might have been losing on the scorecards.

He landed a right cross that hurt Van, and Johnson followed it up with an uppercut from long range that led to the finish. Here is a look at Johnson’s finish:

Johnson is on a run, having won his last three contests. It was a strong night of fights in Denver as the UFC heads back to the Apex in Las Vegas for Saturday’s card, a much smaller event with Amanda Lemos and Virna Jandiroba headlining.
