Dua Lipa is in full album promotional mode at the moment. Her most recent full-length, Radical Optimism, was only released a few weeks ago, and the global pop superstar is doing all she can to make it a sustained commercial win, along with several of the tunes featured on the set.
As the singer continues to push both Radical Optimism and her latest single “Illusion,” one of her older cuts is still going strong. One of the most recent smashes from Lipa can be found on one of Billboard’s radio rankings…and somehow, even after so much time, it’s still performing incredibly well.
“Dance the Night” by Lipa is currently a top 10 hit in America. The track sits at No. 8 on this week’s Adult Contemporary chart. The tally tracks the tunes that rack up the largest number of total audience impressions across adult contemporary radio stations throughout the U.S.
As of this frame, “Dance the Night” has spent a full year on the Adult Contemporary chart. This turn marks its fifty-second week on the radio ranking, which is no easy feat, even for the biggest of stars.
“Dance the Night” debuted on the Adult Contemporary airplay list in June 2023, just a few weeks after it was first released. The cut climbed all the way to No. 4, and it ranks as one of Lipa’s biggest hits on the tally.
Impressively, the song that Lipa recorded for the Barbie soundtrack is not her longest-charting win on the Adult Contemporary roster. It’s actually her fifth tune to reach the notable one-year milestone. So far, her track with the most frames spent on the radio list is “Levitating.” That single earned 71 stays on the ranking, including 14 at No. 1.
“Dance the Night” served as the lead single from the Barbie soundtrack album, and its immediate chart success helped make the full-length huge on its own. The tune peaked at No. 6 on the Hot 100, but it reached the No. 1 spot on other rankings—including some in the U.S., and also in the U.K.
