Soundgarden Joins A Surge Of Returning Hard Rock Favorites

Following

Billboard’s Hard Rock Streaming Songs chart is one of the few lists published by the company that allows older cuts to regularly perform well. Hard rock seems to be a genre where the fans prefer the classics, and usually, it’s legacy acts and decades-old tunes that take up space on this list.

This week is no different, as the Hard Rock Streaming Songs chart is dominated by longtime favorites. Several beloved bands return to the tally with some of their most famous tunes, which American fans have never stopped listening to.

Three smashes reappear on the ranking of the most-streamed hard rock-only songs this time around. All of them have already racked up months on the tally, though some have made a home on the list for much longer than others.

The highest-ranking of the three comebacks this week belongs to Three Days Grace. Their “Animal I Have Become” blasts back onto the Hard Rock Streaming Songs chart at No. 23.

One rung lower comes Soundgarden. The group, which was fronted by Chris Cornell, is back with “Black Hole Sun,” which lands at No. 24. That tune also surged in popularity earlier this year around the eclipse.

In last place on the Hard Rock Streaming Songs chart this week are Queen and David Bowie. The two rock legends collaborated on the single “Under Pressure” decades ago, and it remains a must-stream for millions. This week, it settles at No. 25, in last place on the tally.

Just one track debuts on the Hard Rock Streaming Songs chart this frame. Alice In Chains’ “Man in the Box” stands out as the only brand new tune on the list. That song enters the race at No. 22.
