Missouri Governor Accepts Marijuana Sector PAC Contribution, Then Attempts to Ban all Hemp Derivatives: Tales From the Front Lines of the Hemp v. Marijuana Conflict

The marijuana sector will go to any lengths to stop the hemp sector from further developing, as we saw recently in Missouri. The outgoing Governor of Missouri accepted tens of thousands of dollars from a marijuana sector trade association (into his PAC), and subsequently issued an ‘emergency’ Executive Order, which purported to ban the entirety of the hemp derivative industry in that State. But the Missouri Secretary of State (SOS) determined that there is no ‘emergency’ and rejected the so-called ‘emergency’ rule for lack of any exigent circumstances, and noted that "[w]e don't live in a dictatorship."
