FIREMON: Fire Effects Monitoring and Inventory System is an agency independent plot level sampling system designed to characterize changes in ecosystem attributes over time.
The system consists of:
- a sampling strategy manual,
- standardized sampling methods,
- field forms,
- Access database, and
- a data analysis program.
FIREMON is a desktop application created for computers running Windows 98, ME, 2000, XP, 7, 8 and 10 operating systems. The system was developed by the U.S. Forest Service, Missoula Fire Sciences Laboratory in cooperation with the U.S. Geological Survey, National Park Service and Systems for Environmental Management. Funding was provided by the Joint Fire Science Program.
