MAHI: New tool for quantifying the health of freshwater mussel communities

MAHI uses mussel survey data and a few other pieces of information to calculate scores describing mussel health. MAHI scores can be compared across eastern North America. Managers can use MAHI scores to objectively assess how conservation actions or management activities are affecting mussels.

The symposium is designed to cultivate synergy and foster innovation in silviculture and management for sustainability of oak forests. The University of Tennessee is hosting the symposium and the Southern Research Station is conference co-chair. The symposium will include panel discussions, field trips, and more.
