Conservative businessman and former County Commissioner Gary Richardson is a proven conservative leader with an unmatched record of success.
Conservative businessman Gary Richardson was elected to the Georgia State House to represent District 125 in a Special Election Runoff in March 2024. With only weeks left of the 2024 Legislation Session, Gary quickly got to work and helped Georgia Republicans deliver for Georgia’s families and businesses.
After graduating from Butler High School and attending Georgia Southern University, Gary built the chain of Sparkle Express Carwashes.
Gary previously served on the Columbia County Board of Commissioners for 8 years and was elected by his colleagues to serve as Vice-Chair five times. On the Commission, he proudly voted to reduce taxes, fund law enforcement, and safeguard the traditional values that we hold dear.
Gary Richardson is now running to earn a full term in the State House. He understands that our community needs trusted, conservative leadership to keep Columbia and McDuffie Counties safe and strong.
Guided by his conservative principles, experience in the private sector, and a proven record of public service, Gary is ready to continue delivering for the citizens of District 125. Protect & Grow Georgia's Economy
Gary will use his business experience to protect Georgia families from Biden’s radical economic agenda. He will keep our economy thriving by cutting taxes, supporting the return of more money to taxpayers, slashing job-killing regulations, and pushing back against big government mandates and spending.
Fully Fund Police & Keep Our Community Safe
Thanks to inaction and failed leadership in Washington, our nation’s border is broken and major U.S. cities like Atlanta have been overtaken by criminals. As your State Representative, Gary will fully fund law enforcement, back efforts to deport criminal illegals in Georgia, support efforts to dismantle street gangs, and end human trafficking.
Protect Students from Liberal Indoctrination
The husband of a retired public-school teacher, Gary will stand firm against the radical left’s woke agenda and their blatant efforts to brainwash students in the classroom. He will empower parents, put students first, and ensure that our schools are ripe for education – not indoctrination.
Control Spending & Lower Taxes
Unlike our federal government, Georgia has been fiscally responsible while creating a record breaking economic success. Gary will continue our common sense approach that has allowed us to cut the income tax, return money to taxpayers, and grow our economy.
Oppose Atlanta's Takeover Attempts
As a county commissioner, Gary knows how important it is to maintain local control over decisions that impact our community. He will hold the line to protect local control so politicians in Atlanta can’t force their agenda on our citizens. He believes that “government closest to the people, governs best” and will do whatever it takes to protect our way of life for generations to come.
