Customers who have bought any of the affected batches should stop eating them immediately, AB World Foods Ltd warned.

They may have the presence of salmonella which can cause symptoms such as sickness, fever, diarrhoea and abdominal cramps.

The Food Standards Agency added: "AB World Foods Ltd is recalling the above product. Point of sale notices will be displayed in stores where the product was sold.

"These notices explain to customers why the product is being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the product."

The notices from AB World Foods Ltd read: "Al'Fez is taking the precautionary step of recalling the above date codes of 160 gram jars of tahini sold in stores across the UK.

"The decision has been taken due to a risk of a possible presence of salmonella.

"No other Al'Fez products, date codes or best before dates are affected. If you have one of the products detailed above, please return it to the store for a full refund. You do not need a receipt.

ASDA Extra Special Sea Salt & Chardonnay Wine Vinegar Hand Cooked Crisps Pack size:150g'The product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents'

ASDA

This comes as Asda recalled its Extra Special Sea Salt & Chardonnay Wine Vinegar Hand Cooked Crisps as they contain milk not mentioned on the label.

This could cause a health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents.

This has occurred as a packaging error caused some packs to be filled with cheese & onion crisps instead.

Asda advised customers: "If you have purchased ASDA Extra Special Sea Salt & Chardonnay Wine Vinegar Hand Cooked Crisps 150g with the above Best Before date, please bring it back to your nearest store where you will be given a full refund. You do not need your receipt."
