Epiphany LA Push-Up & Tummy-Control Ribbed Shapewear One-Piece
We get it—the words tummy control might not make sexier suits immediately come to mind. But in 2024 brands are changing the narrative with designs like this plunging suit. And don’t let the soft ribbed fabric fool you. It has power mesh on the inside to really give your midsection the contoured look you’re going for, similar to shapewear.
- What we love: Plunging neckline; ribbed fabric; adjustable straps
- Things to note: Can run big
- Available sizes: XS–XL

- Review: I have very large breasts (currently a size 36F or G) and never felt secure in any swimsuit I tried on unless I looked like I was going scuba diving with a team of grandmother nuns—meaning that only the most matronly and least cute options are what provided actual support. That is, until I found TA3’s suit! It essentially functions as gorgeous shapewear with a built-in bra. Ever since getting mine (which I now have in several colors), I actually feel comfortable going to—and running on—the beach! —Danielle Sinay, Glamour associate beauty editor

What styles we looked for
“When shopping for a tummy-control bathing suit, it’s important to know that they’re designed to offer extra support, smoothing, and shaping around the midsection,” says Cami Raymond, senior design director of shapeweaer brand Ruby Ribbon. “A well-fitted swimsuit is more likely to offer effective tummy control, so look for swimsuits made from high-quality, durable materials like polyester and Lycra (or spandex) with a good amount of stretch—this will provide a comfortable fit and better support.”
As for certain designs, she suggests high-waist bottoms if you’re a fan of two-pieces; if you prefer one-piece suits, look for accents on the suit. “Suits that feature ruching or ruffles around the midsection are also design elements to be on the lookout for as they can help disguise any midsection insecurities and create a more flattering silhouette,” Raymond says.
