August will end in Virgo season, when any perfectionist tendencies can—and will—thrive!
On August 4 a new moon arrives in Leo. It’s the perfect time to explore any proud (but hidden) parts of yourself in order to gain clarity on a more confident and creative life path ahead. This lunation will help bring you into a new headspace, one in which you are better able to see how you’ve been holding yourself back out of insecurity or fear. On the same day, Venus (the planet of love, sex, beauty, and money) will enter meticulous and intuitive Virgo. That means it’s a good day to share your opinions, projects, hobbies, and true self with those around you—in a calculated and organized way, of course.
The next day, on August 5, Mercury stations retrograde in the earthly Virgo. With the planet of communication, technology, and travel in its home sign of Virgo, but with the retrograde period in full swing, this transit might make things a little complicated. Try to take a beat before criticizing or judging others. It’s a time to reflect on why things (or people) bother you, so you can connect more deeply to yourself rather than projecting onto others.
I’d advise you to speak clearly, set strong boundaries, and stick to quality over quantity when making decisions on friends, love interests, and anything else that you welcome into your life during this time. The Mercury retrograde period shifts from Virgo to Leo on August 14, making things more about self-preservation than a sense of organization over your life. Be patient with yourself and others as you recalibrate.
On August 19, there’s a full moon in Aquarius that offers an opportunity to be honest about the ways in which we’re trying to fit in and, instead, to stand out! Eccentrics will be favored under this lunation as we’re encouraged to live outside of the box and do things our own way. A few days later, on August 22, Virgo season arrives as the sun shifts into a more grounded, healing energy. This transition from Leo season to Virgo season is a time to get our lives in order and truly understand how discipline and structured systems can help us thrive. Think of this as the soothing balm after Leo season’s sunburn—it’s okay to rest and recalibrate during this period.
When August 28 arrives, Mercury stations direct in Leo and ends its retrograde period. This will help us to think, speak, and share more clearly and confidently about what (and who) it is that sets our heart ablaze. The final transit of the month occurs on August 29 when Venus (the planet of love, sex, beauty, and money) enters charming and harmonious Libra. Allow this final transit to bring the sense of balance you’re craving as you more deeply trust and follow your instincts toward what is aligned and healthy for you, rather than what simply looks good on the outside.
And don’t forget how far you’ve already come this year: We ended July with Mercury entering Virgo, which helped us to express ourselves more clearly. It was a good time to take advantage of your 15 minutes! We entered June still in the midst of Gemini season, which encouraged us to lean into connection, communication, and thinking more creatively. We started May with a Pluto retrograde period in the eccentric sign of Aquarius. This transit will be with us until Pluto, the outermost planet, stations direct on October 11. This will ask us to face our shadows, secrets, and taboos with bravery. Because Pluto is an outer planet, we’ll likely see this on a societal level rather than in personal struggles—so expect the unexpected and try to take others off of a pedestal during this time.
We entered April still in the midst of Aries season, which encouraged us to be bold and take risks in order to reach our goals. It was a great time to tap into your confidence and leave uncertainty and insecurity behind you. As March wound down, we ended with a full moon Lunar eclipse in Libra. This major lunation brought undeniable shifts and changes for all zodiac signs, but especially for Libra, Gemini, Aquarius, Cancer, Aries, and Capricorn placements.
As February progressed, we had Venus in conjunction with outer planet Pluto, both in the sign of Aquarius. This brought a big shake-up in our closest relationships and in where we felt like we fit in the world. January was a month full of transformative and passionate transits. We started off January with the sun in calculated and driven Capricorn, encouraging us all to bring our dreams to life through tangible and actionable steps.
