As arguably the biggest of the UK festivals is underway, having serious Glastonbury FOMO is completely understandable.

So to scratch that festival itch, if you've not made it to Glastonbury 2024 – or maybe you have and you want to prevent having the post-festival blues next week – it's time to book into some of the other amazing festivals coming up this year.

From the acclaimed big-name dance festivals (Creamfields, Boomtown) to the one-day, multi-genre favourites (All Points East) via the sustainability-driven galas (Shambala), these are the best UK festivals 2024 has in store…

Creamfields

Paul Harness

Best for: All electronic-music lovers, Creamfields is the one for you! Full to the brim with the best DJs playing epic tunes, this festival is dubbed the "biggest dance festival in the UK", so don't miss out! There are still some resale tickets available.
Line-up: Calvin Harris, Chase & Status, Fatboy Slim, Michael Bibi, Bicep present CHROMA, Eric Prydz, Scooter, Gorgon City and much more.

Shambala

Rob Ball

Best for: If you're a music lover but also a sustainability warrior, then Shambala is the place for you as it embraces the spiritual side of festival-going. The festival has been meat, fish and dairy-milk free since 2016 and focuses on 100 per cent renewable power. There are also opportunities to get involved in poetry, cabaret, debates etc. You're spoilt for choice!
Line-up: Anderson .Paak as DJ Pee .Wee, Chromeo, CloZee, Dillon Francis, Disclosure, Excision, Ganja White Night, James Blake, San Holo and Tipper.

All Points East

Burak Cingi

Best for: No need to dig out your tents for this one-day festival in London's Vicky Park – spread over three different dates – which saw Stormzy headline for 2023. And this year's line-up is looking stellar already, with more big names to be announced soon.
Line-up: Loyle Carner, LCD Soundsystem, The Postal Service, Death Cab For Cutie, Arlo Parks, Suki Waterhouse, Nas, André 3000, Mitski, Kaytranada.

Latitude

Andy Sheppard

Best for: Given Latitude's relaxed feel, it's great to attend with the family. As well as huge performances, there is a slew of other activities to do, including walking within the nearby woodland area and trying all the international dishes on offer.
Line-up: Duran Duran, Kasabian, Keane, London Grammar, Rick Astley, Sara Pascoe.

Wilderness

Edu Hawkins

Best for: Wilderness truly does feel like the wilderness when you're tented up in stunning woodland within the Cornbury Park estate. This festival also boasts several alternative acts, such as comedians and authors. Oh yes, and there's plenty of good food! 
Line-up: Headliners are Michael Kiwanuka, Faithless (Live), BICEP present CHROMA (AV DJ set), and Jessie Ware. Also playing are Alison Goldfrapp, Barry Can't Swim, Bill Bailey, Björn Again, Craig Charles, De La Soul, Dutty Moonshine Big Band, Eats Everything, Ewan McVicar, Ibibio Sound Machine, Oh My God! Camp Bestival

Best for: Bestival is probably the UK's best-loved family festival, with plenty to keep everyone entertained. The line-up is yet to be announced but previous performers include Craig David, Ella Henderson and Grace Jones. Early bird and tier 1 tickets have sold out, so keep an eye out for tiers 2 and 3.
Line-up: Pete Tong: Ibiza Classics with The Essential Orchestra, Paloma Faith, McFly, Orbital, James Arthur, The Darkness, Jake Shears, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Roger Sanchez, Gok Wan.

Boardmasters

Jonny Weeks

Best for: Each year, Boardmasters attracts a laidback crowd for its festival of surfing, music and much more set along Newquay's beautiful coast. Think of it like a music festival and beach holiday in one.
Line-up: Stormzy, Chase & Status, Becky Hill, Maisie Peters, Tom Odell, Kate Nash, Holly Humberstone, Declan McKenna, Katy B.

Reading and Leeds Festival

Best for: Reading and Leeds Festival is one of the most popular festivals out there and brings back wild teenage memories of us jamming to incredible headline acts with our besties, particularly as the festival always falls on the long weekend after GCSE results day. Back in our day, Reading and Leeds was a solely rock, alternative and indie affair, but now the festival brings together acts from across genres.
Line-up: Lana del Rey, Blink 182, Fred Again..., Liam Gallagher, Gerry Cinnamon, Skrillex, Catfish and the Bottlemen, Two Door Cinema Club, Renée Rapp, Pendulum.

Boomtown Festival

Mollie Amos

Best for: Get lost in genres such as reggae, soul, disco and punk at the festival's famous Forest Parties before enjoying a good night of sleep at the nearby Campsite Villages. This multi-genre dance and roots event is loved by creatives and draws a fun, wild boho crowd. The line-up is usually kept under wraps until right before the festival, but expect plenty of acts you can dance to.

Love Supreme

Tabatha Fireman

Best for: The best place you can be in 2024 to indulge in your love for jazz music. If that's not your thing, there's also plenty of reggae, R&B and soul music to keep you going, and wellbeing and yoga areas and film screenings. 
Line-up: Chaka Khan, Kool & The Gang, Mahalia, Olivia Dean, Dionne Warwick, Black Pumas.

Noisily

Best for: You have it all at Noisily, including techno, tribal house, dub and drum and bass, and a ten-metre-high pyramid that blasts all the sounds you could ever want! Phase 3 tickets are available now.
