<p>United made the 21-year-old England international their primary defensive transfer target in the upcoming summer window, however, <a href="https://talksport.com/football/1916285/transfer-notebook-man-utd-jarrad-branthwaite-west-ham-burnley/" target="_blank"><em>talkSPORT</em></a> reports that the club could now consider pulling out of the move as they consider Everton's asking price for the player extremely high.</p>

<p>The report claims that the Toffees are demanding a fee in the region of £70m (€83m/$89m) which the Red Devils' new co-owners Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his INEOS group are <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/revealed-how-much-man-utd-willin-pay-everton-jarrad-branthwaite/blt618ce2ff091296f3" target="_blank">unlikely to match</a>. It is believed that Ratcliffe is against continuing the club's old tradition of overpaying in the transfer market.</p>

<p>Other than Branthwaite, the Manchester-based club have also included Nice and France defender Jean-Clair Todibo in their shortlist. They reportedly held talks with Tosin Adarabioyo's representatives before he completed a free transfer to Chelsea.</p>
