Just from a purely money standpoint, she doesn't need the publicity or marketing. However, the fact that she is a problematic author accounts for a lot of what people are grappling with right now.

Highly recommend West With Giraffes by Lynda Rutledge. Set in Depression, interesting characters, great storyline and happy ending.

Ads for it are literally plastered all over the front page of Goodreads, at least for it. It definitely doesn't need marketing help.

uh.... the post literally says, "To create our list, we focused on the books Goodreads members can't wait to read, which we measure by how many times a book has been added to Want to Read shelves."
Lethal White was the last Cormoran Strike book I read. It was twice as long as it needed to be and the weird romance thing attempted between the main characters was totally cringe-worthy and 100% turned me off the series. My disinterest has nothing to do with JKR's personal problems. Black Ink Heart is definitely not on my Want to Read list.

I will always have such admiration for JK Rowling books. I credit her with her Harry Potter books in inspiring a whole new generation of avid readers. I have read the first 4 Cormoran Strike books and really enjoyed them. I still need to get to #5 but I will and I will always definitely read #6, The Ink Black Heart. Her personal opinions are her own and while I don't agree with all she has said, I can still appreciated her writing and still want to see the series through to its natural ending.
I also hope that they will continue the CB Strike streaming series.
