I want to read the book really bad. I am currently watching the show, but I don't know if reading the book will make me look at the characters differently. Help.

They pretty much destroyed the book with the show. I LOVED this book. Very few stories get so much emotion out of me, but this one definitely did.(less)

Has anyone read this, If so how does it fair against the tv series.

Jeff The TV show and the novel are slightly similar, but most of what makes the book worth reading is lost when they watered it down to make the TV show.

I've only read one Stephen King before, 11/22/63, which I LOVED. I don't do horror of any kind...is this a reasonable title to dig into, sans horror?
