In desperation she turns to the one man she’d rather Lord Charles Chatsworth, a rich and carefree flirt whose scandalous reputation she despises. Charles is happy to donate to the school―but his offer is not without conditions. In exchange for his financial support, Elizabeth must tutor his relative in elocution. A bargain is struck, but neither anticipates the unexpected pull they feel toward each other. It is not until a journey to Charles’s country estate that Elizabeth truly begins to see the man behind the rakish reputation. Soon the couple finds themselves losing their fight against their growing attraction. But when Elizabeth discovers that her school is being sabotaged, she realizes her country romance may not withstand the scheming of the ton.

Educating Elizabeth is another lovely, endearing story in The Blue Orchid Society series. I loved this enemies to lovers, opposites attract, delightful book. It’s the story of lasting friendships, a plight to help the poor, misjudging, rich versus poor, and pride.

Elizabeth Miller learned from an early age that men could take everything from her on a whim. She’s worked hard to pull herself up from her humble roots, changing the way she speaks, dresses, and her manners to become a successful woman. She’s finally acquired her dream of opening a girls’ school to educate underprivileged young women and give them a chance for success. When her school is in danger of closing, she receives help from the most unlikely source.

Lord Charles Chatworth known as Charming Chatworth is the opposite of the serious, driven Elizabeth. Like his nickname, he’s definitely charming, teasing, flirtatious, and appears the scandalous lord. Underneath his handsome facade, is a caring man who wants what’s best for his half sister. He’s seen the affects of his father’s behavior and vows never to do that to a woman. Elizabeth intrigues him and when he has the opportunity to help her school, he strikes a bargain with her to give the needed funds for the school if she’ll tutor his half-sister. As he sees the remarkable woman underneath the barbs, he begins to fall in love, but will she be able to overlook her pride and prejudice of the wealthy class to accept him?

I loved Charles & Elizabeth! Their first and subsequent meetings are hilarious, and will give you second-hand mortification for Elizabeth. I loved Charles’ personality. At first, he appears to be just another frivolous nobleman, but there are surprising depths to his character. I loved how Elizabeth’s preconceived notions of him changed over time. I enjoyed how he cared for his half-sister, sharing his knowledge of birds with her, and wanting what’s best for her. I loved the way he really listens to Elizabeth and respects her opinions. Their first kiss will definitely have you swooning.

I loved finally getting Elizabeth’s story! She’s overcome so much & I enjoyed getting to know her better. I loved seeing her open her heart to Charles. I loved the thoughtful way she tutored Alice, helping her understand she wasn’t changing her worth with changing her accent.

This series is so good! I absolutely love how each book highlights one of the strong women from the Blue Orchid Society and how they rally around and support one another. So often women are portrayed as rivals, yet in this unique series it shows the depth of friendship and support women give to each other. Highly recommend this romantic, funny, sweet story. I hope there are more books to come!

I received an advanced complimentary ebook from the publisher. All opinions are my own and voluntarily provided. 4 1/2 stars raised to 5.

The Victorian Era is so fascinating to me. I loved seeing the freedom that started opening up for women and children, and the underprivileged. It is so amazing! And I've loved reading this series as the author has shown many of those positive changes, even though those changes came with real struggles and fights to gain those freedoms and opportunities! What a blessing for women along the way and today to have the freedom and ability that we have. But we should never forget those who stood up for themselves and each other along the way!

The lovely ladies in this Blue Orchid Society are very inspiring! How they rally around each other and are truly interested and invested in each others' dreams and desires. And how they work together to help each other achieve those! Those are the best kind of friends to have! Someone who will stand by you and help you in your goals and doesn't laugh or belittle, but lifts and cheers!!! We all need those friends and people in our lives, and most importantly, to be that type of person!

I loved seeing more of Elizabeth's story in this book. She's such a sweet character and I loved watching her as a secondary character in the previous books. But was so happy that she was the next one to have her turn to shine! And shine she did! She's strong and determined and will do what she must to be an advocate for young girls in hard circumstances! I loved her school for these young girls and the blessing it brought into their lives and would for many generations to come (I know this is fictional but it's true back then and now the effects it has on many generations)! Her goodness and love of others and her loyalty as a friend are only some of her great traits!

And Lord Charles Chatsworth is so much more than he appears! I loved his character from the beginning! His easy going, teasing manner is quite delightful and brings such a fun layer to this book and his and Elizabeth's relationship! And their first meeting, of the book not their first true meeting, is just so stinking adorably funny!!! I laughed out loud! Poor Elizabeth, being subjected to such a tease! Just kidding! It was perfect and just what she needed! I loved every interaction between these two. It takes a little time for Elizabeth to come to know Charles more and trust him and see beyond his facade. But when she does, oh my heart! *Happy Sigh* You're going to love it! They're just so sweet and adorable together! I love how Lord Charles listens to Elizabeth.

Another fabulous book in this book series! Now I'm hoping for a certain couple of characters to have their story. I won't say who but I'll let you sniff it out with the clues that I'm hoping were being laid by the author throughout this one! *Fingers Crossed*

Content: Clean. Some sweet kisses but nothing further. No language and only one very mild moment of peril.

I received a copy from the publisher, Covenant Communications, via NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions in the review are my own.

Happy Reading!!!

Educating Elizabeth is another wonderful addition to the Blue Orchard Society series by Jennifer Moore. Even though this is a series, these books can be read as stand-alones. I thoroughly enjoyed the point of view changes that brought the reader the wonderful personalities of Elizabeth and Charles. I especially loved Charles’s bird watching. And the birdwatching group was a favorite. There were many lovely, tender moments in the story but one inparticular involving moss and a stick had me laughing out loud. Elizabeth is strong but also vulnerable and I loved how others looked to her example and experiences. Charles was caring and learned from Elizabeth too. There is a rather important side character that was invaluable to the plot that I will let you discover on your own. The Author’s Note at the end was rather touching. I admire the person and author Jennifer Moore is.

Two similar meet cutes of a questionable state of dress make for a very hilarious situation.

I couldn't get enough of Charming Charles Chatsworth. His flirtations, kindness, and banter won me over from the start and as I got to know him better and better throughout the story, I only fell harder.

I love the Blue Orchid society and its friend group of strong, independent and ahead-of-their-times women. Elizabeth has overcome a lot in her life and as headmistress for a school for girls, she's determined to keep it funded and open, which requires her to ask for a little help. When meddling Charles intercepts a letter intended for his grandmother, a deal is struck and I couldn't have been more delighted with the outcome. This couple gave me all the feels, while making me laugh out loud at the same time.

Charles also wormed his way into my heart with his love of birds, as my husband and son are very much into them. I loved reading about the nature outings he embarked on with Elizabeth and Miss Alice in tow, along with a group of like-minded individuals.

Jennifer Moore's writing style is so lovely and engaging and I loved all the things with this one. The characters are congenial; the secrets and interactions are sweet; the banter and personalities are hilarious. I adored this addition to the series!

Content: mild romance; vague mention of a marital affair

I've been following this series since the beginning and I really liked it! A group of young lady friends with goals and practical ideas, trying to better themselves and the world around them.

This is Elizabeth's story. She's very passionate about education and she runs a school for underprivileged girls. Unfortunately, the costs of running keep climbing and she's forced to turn to Charles, who in turn asks her to help him with his half sisters.

I liked the main characters and how they balanced each other, and the little sister was also a great addition to the story, as were the other secondary characters and the political intrigue.

Looking forward to the next book in the series.

I received a copy from the publisher via NetGalley and this is my honest opinion.

Educating Elizabeth was book 4 of the Blue Orchid Society and its a stand-alone. I gave it a high 4 ⭐️.
Elizabeth Miller was passionately frustrated and determined to run a school regardless of the discrimination she met at every turn.
It was a clean romance that had a gentle angst with a simmering chemistry. The romance brought the best out of them and a clearer understanding of what’s most important about living. Alice was a special delight and I loved her.

Elizabeth is the latest in the Blue Orchid Society to have her story told. She started a school for girls in one of the shadier parts of London. She has donors who support her cause but things just keep going wrong for her and she suspects that there may be some nefarious reasons for this.

She and her friends rally together to do what they can, but she gets some unexpected help from a renowned rake, Lord "Charming" Chatsworth. She does not trust him based on his reputation and a couple of instances in their past that left an indelible impression on her mind.

The challenges of running her school and her growing feelings for Lord Chatsworth give Elizabeth an education in what she wants, what she needs, and the help of having someone in your corner.

This is a charming story that is true to the books that preceded it. There is nothing more important to this group of friends than each other. These are women that help each other up, dust each other off, and treat each other with the respect the others deserve. There is no room for competition or cattiness here. There is strength in these numbers. This is a book to celebrate the strength of the women and their relationships, with the men that support them and let them shine. The romance in this series shows the benefits of true partnership in the couples and the way they complement each other.

I received an eARC from NetGalley as requested and this is my honest review.

The Blue Orchid Society is a friend group of women in Victorian England who have professional interests and skills. This is the fourth book in the series and they can be read as stand alone novels. I’ve read the previous book and the MCs make a brief appearance. Elizabeth Miller (22) runs a school for underprivileged girls in London’s East End. A believer in educating girls so they can improve their stations in life she gets funding from the patronage of her friends in the Blue Orchid Society and others. When the school is being hit with extra taxes and other costs she sends a help letter to a patron. Instead her grandson answers. Lord Charles Chatsworth is an earl. He offers a large sum of money for Elizabeth to give private elocution lessons to his new found young sister so she may be accepted in society. Of course she accepts.

The characters are likable but I found Charles bland. He’s a nice guy trying to do right by his father’s illegitimate child. But he doesn’t seem to stand for much. He doesn’t chastise his friend for casting off Elizabeth’s cousin when given the chance for a better marriage. Nor does he defend Elizabeth when his friend makes disparaging remarks suggesting Elizabeth is Charles mistress. Yes he does help with the school situation but his title opens doors that are closed to her so not sure this took much effort on his part.

This is a clean book as is the series. And the first kiss and declaration of feels like it comes out of the blue. I do like the author is trying to show power imbalance of the time period. And creating female characters that aren’t sticking to the norm. But the hero didn’t make me swoon. Not in how he handles his family or his potential HEA. Thank you to NetGalley and Covenant Communications for the ARC and I am leaving a voluntary review.

I absolutely adore this series that is based during the Victorian Era. All of the books have shown beautiful, intelligent, and independent women. Educating Elizabeth though has a special place in my heart because she was a teacher. Elizabeth's love for her students and their education spoke to me as I feel the same way about my students.

Elizabeth has started a school for poor working-class girls who would otherwise never have a chance at an education. She needs the help of many benefactors. Along the way, she becomes entangled with the pompous Lord Chatsworth. Charles honestly stole my heart from the beginning. There are so many funny moments between Elizabeth and Charles that will keep you laughing. There is a lesson for both characters though, things aren't always what they seem like on the outside.

I loved how The Blue Orchid Society of friends rallied around Elizabeth and helped her in their own unique ways. Even with all of the lighthearted moments, there are also many moments that touch your heart. Some of my favorite characters were Charles's grandmother and little Alice. The bird-watching group was also a hoot! No pun intended! :)

This is one series that readers need to pick up especially if they love strong, intelligent, and loyal women. Education Elizabeth definitely found a place in my heart and I look forward to reading this book again.

“These children will change the face of society.” She spread her hands, motioning to the girls seated on the floor before her. “There is little in life that will benefit a person more than an education. Doors open, opportunities, grow, and possibilities expand. This is true in the case of boys 𝙖𝙣𝙙 girls. Families, societies, and communities prosper when their members are able to think critically, are able to read and to understand.”

Elizabeth Miller runs a school for underprivileged girls in London. Financial troubles arise, and there’s a chance the school could close down.

Desperate for help, she turns to Lord Charles Chatsworth, a wealthy flirt who she can’t stand.

Charles is happy to donate to the school, but will do so in exchange for Elizabeth tutoring his younger sister. During their time together, they feel a mutual attraction to each other, and Elizabeth sees the real man behind the rakish mask.

I adored this story and the different themes of education — Elizabeth’s passion for educating her students. Her being educated on not judging people so harshly without knowing their backstory, and Charles being educated as he tries to figure out how to be the caregiver for his younger siblings, and in his relationship with Elizabeth.

The romance between these two was so sweet! I loved their interactions as they both cared for Alice, when they were birdwatching, and when they were fighting to save the school.

I thought the author did an excellent job in describing London during the Industrial Revolution, and the social injustices and class distinctions of that time.

I really appreciate the way the women in The Blue Orchid Society are portrayed as being so supportive of one another, rather than competitive.

This is book 4 in the series but can be read as a standalone.

Many thanks to the author and Covenant Communications for an ARC!

I thought it was very good and I enjoyed the developing relationship between Lord Chatsworh and Elizabeth Miller. His love for his young sister, Alice, as well as his interest in ornithology was endearing. Likewise Elizabeth's concerns for the poor and a stray cat, plus her strong determination make her very agreeable. I recommend this story (despite several typos).

I always enjoy books by Ms. Moore! They are so much more than a romance book. Always including a strong, determined heroine and a dashing gentleman. This book continued that trend with two great main characters plus multiple compelling parts of the story they fought for. This is a great series and I highly recommend it!

Jennifer Moore delights readers with "Educating Elizabeth", the fourth installment of her Blue Orchid Society series. This one features Elizabeth Miller, another intelligent and independent Victorian heroine who is determined to educate disadvantaged girls in London. Her unlikely benefactor in her endeavor is Charles Seaton, Lord Chatsworth.

Childhood acquaintances, Elizabeth and Charles meet again under unusual circumstances. Elizabeth is mortified, Charles makes jokes, and the situation is highly amusing. This unlikely couple engages in clever, witty banter. Lord Chatsworth's devotion to his little sister is touching, and his birdwatching hobby was singular. The author has done her research here, too (red-headed shrike, indeed). The Victorian Egyptian fad plays a role as well.

Jennifer Moore's prose is lovely and evocative. As in the previous installments, the alliterative title (if one counts "Inventing Vivian") works two ways. Characters are well-drawn, and this tale is clean. This is technically a stand-alone novel, although I prefer to read series in order, and have done so here. Characters in the previous books appear, and their backstories enhance THIS one. I greatly look forward to Dahlia Lancaster's story. There is a potential love interest for her, and how will Moore handle Lord Ruben and Lady Lorene?

Thanks to NetGalley and Covenant Communications for an ARC of this wonderful read.

#BookRevew: EDUCATING ELIZABETH by Jennifer Moore

I enjoyed Healing Hazel, the third book in this series, so I was excited to read this one. I found this book to be a pleasurable read, with its focus on philanthropy, education, and family. The author did a good job of keeping the story moving. It was a delight to revisit the other ladies in the Blue Orchid Society. I'm now eager to read books one and two.

As headmistress, Elizabeth was passionate about her mission to educate girls. She faced every challenge with fierce determination. Her friends' support was heartwarming. I enjoyed her close relationship with her cousin, Dahlia. I'm excited to read more about her story in the future.

The enemies-to-lovers story between Elizabeth and Charles was quite enjoyable. Charles was always charming and witty, which Elizabeth found annoying, hence the conflict. I found the story to be quite enjoyable, with some genuinely funny moments. The trip to Sussex was a particular highlight, as was the birdwatching. I also appreciated the sweet and caring relationship between Charles and Alice. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

Elizabeth is trying her best to run a school for girls of a lower station that can’t afford it. Unexpected costs leave her in desperate need of money. Lord Charles, a man she dislikes for his rakish reputation, is willing to give her the money. He needs a teacher for his half sister and Elizabeth would be the perfect one for his sister’s specific needs. She agrees and starts teaching his sister. When they travel to Lord Charles country estate, Elizabeth and Charles start spending time together and she finds she may have judged him wrongly.

This was a cute story! I loved how much Elizabeth cared for her project of a girls school. She worked so hard for them. I love how she tackled every obstacle thrown her way. I loved Charles and his love of birdwatching. I also loved how much he cared about his half sister and wanted to help her the best he could. There was some great funny moments and I loved the first kiss scene. It was also nice to see characters from the other books in the series again. Overall I thought this was a great story, it’s clean and I recommend!

I absolutely love the Blue Orchid Society series! It is fantastic. I just finished reading Educating Elizabeth, the fourth book in the series, and it is just as great as the rest of the series!

Charles and Elizabeth are seriously the cutest. I loved how determined Elizabeth was to help the less fortunate and how dedicated she was to her school. I also loved that there was more to Charles than most people saw - while most of society only saw the flirt, he was kind hearted and loyal to those he loved underneath his mask. Plus his bird watching hobby. That was awesome.

I enjoyed the appearances of the other Blue Orchid Society ladies as well! It was fun to see all of them again.

Moral of the story here is that y'all need this book in your lives. And if you haven't read the other books in the series, add those to your TBR list as well. This is the way.

Many thanks to the author and publisher for the early copy; all thoughts are my own.

Another great addition to the Blue Orchid Society. Elizabeth lives in the Victorian age when women are just starting to break boundaries and make things happen. She has started a school for girls that has been her life’s passion. Of course the gentleman seems very aware of his good looks. He imagines that his charm and his money should be enough to win anyone over, but it really just turns Elizabeth off. Luckily, she gets to see another side to him.
The characters are delightful, the story is heartwarming and there’s bird watching. What could be better?

This was good but not as good as the others in this series. The unique relationships of the women in the Blue Orchid Society were a little lost in this book and that has been the best thing about the series. In this book it was all about the couples and not the women. I did like hearing about the others but there were times I wanted Elizabeth to just have the girls over to help her sort things but if the girls came the boys did too. I did like Alice and her interactions with Charles and Elizabeth. I thought the author went a little over the top on the feminist angle. The story was good and it had fun, exciting, and suspenseful moments so overall it was a good read:

I have loved this series from the beginning. The Blue Orchid Society is such a great group of women who don't quite fit in, but want to make a difference. I love how they are able to support and champion each other. Elizabeth is someone worthy of love and understanding. I love her character, especially the way she cares for others and champions them. I liked Charles too. I always enjoy getting to know a rake better and realize there is something better underneath. It's hard for me to even think of Charles as a tease and flirt, because he was so much more in this book. I really liked him and I loved him and Elizabeth together.

This is a series, but the books can be read on their own. However, I suggest you read the whole series because it is so good.

I enjoyed reading this well written story, perhaps my favorite in the series. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked the characters and the direction the plot took in the end. I really liked one of the messages of the book, that just because people see things differently doesn’t make them wrong/evil.

This felt like more of a novella than a full length novel, but I do love Jennifer Moore. There's always a good lesson to be learned and a little romance along the way. This was a quick, easy read. I understand how Elizabeth can judge others without all the facts, and it's nice to see her realize she was wrong and own up to it.

I have enjoyed every one of the Blue Orchid Society books and this one continues the trend. The only thing that took it down a star was the underwhelming ending. I love when I get to read more of the love story. But I did appreciate the character arcs and heart softening from the main characters that leads to caring and adoration.

**I was provided an advanced copy of this book by the publisher in exchange for my honest review.** If you haven’t read @jennythebrave Blue Orchid Society series, you need to read it!!! Educating Elizabeth is the fifth installment in this beautiful series. Miss Elizabeth Miller runs a school for girls of London’s working class and is passionate in her support of legislation that tries to lift the lives of the unfortunate, oppressed, and down-trodden. She is not afraid to make enemies of the members of the ton in order to do so. Finding a suitable match is not a priority and a dream of finding love is non-existent. Forces are at work to sabotage her school and ensure its demise. Lord Charles Chatsworth is living two lives. His public London persona where he is seen as the ultimate flirt and rake—just like his father, and his true self, the kind, loving, birdwatcher who resides at his country estate. Circumstances bring these two characters together in an unlikely alliance. Will Lord Chatsworth allow Elizabeth to see his true self? Will Elizabeth be able to save her school with help from her friends? Will they find true love? Read the book to find out! One of the aspects of this series that I adore is that none of these women are damsels in distress. Do they have trials and challenges? Absolutely. But, they use their strengths and talents to overcome and to help each other. The women in this series rally around each other (and so do the men they love) and lift each other. This is true sisterhood. The men in the series are not weak. They are definitely complex characters with their own challenges; however, they value the women in their lives who have unique strengths and abilities. They celebrate and encourage the women to more fully develop these talents. I highly recommend this book and series. Jennifer Moore is one of my go to authors. I love her writing style and how she has a way of connecting you to her characters. Educating Elizabeth was no different. Excellent In Every Way!! Loved It!
Without a doubt the best book I've read from this author - as well as one of the best I've read this year overall!
A beautiful story of the strength and intelligence of women, sweet clean romance, and being true to who you are.
I love when there is a group of women - who are friends, with a sisterhood of supporting each other, and each woman gets a story. This series - The Blue Orchid Society, is a perfect example of that.
Very well written, with an excellent flow. No boring parts, or fillers.
Each situation had a purpose, and the side characters were nicely developed - adding so much depth and realness to the story.
I absolutely loved Charles and his love of birds!! What a great situation that provided humor and an insight into his personality. He and Elizabeth made such a great couple and find that even though they are from different classes in society, they have a lot in common. Love their connection, chemistry, and sparky kissing!
I completely enjoyed this book - and will be reading it again - which says a lot about any book!
I have read several of this author's other books, but for some reason, not any in this series yet - till this one!
From what I understand, the stories flow chronologically from one to the next, so it might be good to read them in order, BUT = I do not feel like I was confused or lacking anything by starting with this one first. The author does a great job of giving just enough input about the previous couples and their situations, that I was at ease in reading this book before the others.
I will be reading the others now!! Can't wait to see how the relationships of the previous couples unfold.
And - I can't wait for the next book in the series!
Thanks to Netgalley for the eARC in exchange for an honest review.
Thanks to this author for writing such an engaging, well written book, with a beautiful love story!

Elizabeth Miller lives in two worlds. While she is a poor relation of her wealthy aunt and uncle, she was never made to feel that way, But she just does not fit in with the ton crowd, not completely. All she really wants to help the underprivileged, especially the young girls. With the help of her loving uncle and several other benefactors, she opens a girls school in a poor area of London, a school that will educate and help to make these girls and their families lives better. When she starts to run into some difficulties with the school's financials, she must turn to her benefactors for help, but in her desperation, she ends up having to rely on someone she believes to be a total and utter cad.

After discovering he has a poor half sister, he does his best to give her everything he feels he had, even at the expense of his family. Desperate to help the child learn to speak properly, he sees an advantage when Elizabeth comes seeking his grandmother and money for her school. He strikes a deal with her, he will donate the money if she tutors his sister. Little does he know, Elizabeth and her school will do wonders for him and his entire family.

This is a must read! I LOVED it! As expected, Moore does a wonderful job putting the reader into the story and making them fall in love with the characters.
