1 book18 followersAurelia Young is a debuting author that wrote her first book, Blood Ink, in 2023 using a pseudonym. She is from The Netherlands which is why her books are available in Dutch and English. She translated the books herself which is what she will continue to do in future.
She uses a print on demand system to print the books, but also, to prevent the need of printing a whole edition. She encourages readers to use Ebooks because this is better for the environment.
She wants to help other authors by giving them advice and encourages people to give advice or help someone designing a book cover for free or for a small fee. Becoming an author can be very costly, especially if you do everything yourself.
Aurelia has a Discord channel called ''Authors Supporting Authors'' where new authors can get advice, give advice and help each other in other ways!

Een goed boek die de genres Fantasy en avontuur combineert met een natuurlijke vorm van emotie. Het leest gemakkelijk door simpele voorbeelden en leuke humor waardoor je de karakters zich goed kunt voorstellen en meeleven. Ook maakt de schrijfster gebruik van snelle emoties in karakters waardoor je van een irritatie naar een grap gaat, om enkele zinnen later je angstig te voelen. Het is ook kenmerkend aan deze verhaallijn waar ondanks je een mooi avontuur beleeft. Specifiek de hoofdstukken waarin in voorkomen zijn spannend en grappig om te lezen.
Via een contact van de schrijfster heb ik voor de officiële release dit boek kunnen lezen. Het is zeker een aanrader voor iemand die houdt van een avontuurlijk fantasieverhaal met een duister kantje.

The book was written in first person p.o.v. which is great because then you can understand the character even better. The writer produced a fast-paced story about a young girl that got herself in trouble and was taken to another world. The book is romantasy, but there is only one scene in the book where there is some romance going on... so if you are looking for a Young Adult book where there is not that much romance going on and where everything is more about the story rather than THE guy... then you should read this!
The main character is quite badass... in the story she starts as a regular girl: she goes to school and does her homework until she needs to break out of a prison, discovers that she has powers in that other world and suddenly gets wings (really badass but, like Leanna, I am afraid of heights as well). Then she tries to learn how to sword fight... it was really well written, the fight scenes are well-choreographed!
The ending of the book was a bit rushed... perhaps some more in-depth information about the characters or more detailed world building could have been done here and there. But nevertheless, it was great read. I would recommend the book to people that are looking for a main character that is getting stronger over time and that becomes a godess at the end of the book. Sorry for the spoilers.
