It will help them understand what to do if they feel alone and scared. It’s not easy and they’ll know there really won’t be a magical cat to help them but they will learn that its about self confidence and friendship. The illustrations by Dixie Albanez are also excellent. The bright ,bold colorful pictures do an excellent job conveying the children’s emotions." - Dick Leonardo - Bookroom Reviews Also see: Isecas the Dream Cat and the Tides of Change

I have to admit I had to read through this book a couple of times, not because I didnt get it, but because all throughout I kept trying to remember the types of books I read when I was 8. The reason I was doing this is because this book is sort of deep, it deals with finding inner strength by using Isecas as a sort of manifestation of the characters own-yet-realized inner strength. I wondered if kids would get it. Like all things though I had to stop myself from thinking that way. Alot of times we underestimate children due to thier age when in reality they are alot smarter than we give them credit.

Personally I thought that this was a great book dealing with some of the issues faced by the children of todays generation; it has a very logical look on these issues and is presented in a way that children will understand. The illustrations being a big part of that, not to flashy or colourful, but just enough to pull you into the narrative.

While I don't have kids myself, I would definitely recommend this book too the people I know who do. Its a great read and who knows maybe can be inspirational to both children and adults.

Everyone has fears, doubts or feels alone at one time or another. Isecas The Dream Cat And The New School helps Sahar overcome issues that can affect her self-esteem and her future. She is in a new place, learning a new language and feels so alone. This is something she experiences every day and she is not the only one; children all over the world go through the same experience. Children need healthy ways to deal with these issues.

I love how author Preston Squire and illustrator Dixie Albanez use Isecas The Dream Cat to outline how our childhood can affect our self-esteem. If the information that we receive and perceive as children is not channeled properly, it could cause low self-esteem and other issues well into adulthood. Children need to be able to seek a trusted adult to help them through these types of issues. Read more https://readersfavorite.com/book-revi...

This is a charming tale about an Egyptian girl named Sahar who moves to Canada and has trouble adjusting. Her Aunt Lodi feels her pain; she gifts her niece with an old stuffed cat toy. Imagine Sahar's surprise when the cat comes alive and informs her that she can make dreams come true. How does Isecas the cat fulfill Sahar's dreams and provide her with the self-confidence that Sahar needs to believe in herself?

This book contains beautiful digital illustrations that portray the characters' feelings accurately. Younger children will get the meaning from looking at them. Text is not difficult; children seven and older should be able to read the story independently. Perfect book for a family planning to move or for a classroom teacher to read aloud at the beginning of the school year.

Isecas The Dream Cat is an adorable story about a young girl's struggle to adjust to life in a new school, new city, even a new country. Sahar, the little girl feels out of place, bullied and alone, but when she receives ancient Dream Cat, her entire world suddenly changes...

This is a nice kids book with an even better lesson to be learnt...A great read for ages 6-10, it teaches children about choices and about self-esteem. The language is simple and easy to understand, the characters are delightful and the illustrations are rich in colors and meaning...A great addition to the young one's library!!!
