SEDUCED: THE GROOMING OF AMERICA'S TEENAGERS

Rate this book
Opal Singleton is President and CEO of Million Kids and Training and Outreach Coordinator for Riverside County Anti Human Trafficking Task Force. Opal trains thousands of government agencies, school administrators, corporations, civic groups and faith based organizations about how to prevent human trafficking. She sits with parents of missing kids and talks with teens who are being “Sextorted” with a naked photo. Sometimes the young people are coerced or forced into prostitution. This is human trafficking and it is the fastest growing crime in the U.S.

Opal has recognized a disturbing trend. Each encounter with a stranger, every illicit photo represents an opportunity for exploitation. With advancing technology violence and sex can be portrayed in ways that parallel reality. The result is a generation of “Desensitized Teenagers”.

We are at a unique time in history. We have a generation of teens who have never NOT known the Internet and parents that are techno-phobic. Parents give kids devices that open the door to over a million predators that can influence a child’s thinking on morality, spirituality and sexuality while they are competing for approval in a fantasy world. Apps, social media and online gaming allow ACCESS, GROOMING, RECRUITMENT AND EXPLOITATION of our young people by total strangers. This book is not just an Internet Safety program. It is a parent and grandparent empowerment tool.

IT IS REAL. IT IS EYE OPENING. IT COULD CHANGE YOUR LIFE AND THE LIFE OF YOUR FAMILY.

This book isn't very long and a lot of it is good common sense...however, there are some excellent points made by Singleton, who has worked with at-risk and sex-trafficked teens and their families for many years. It is very important for parents and grandparents to understand how the web works in all its nuances, and get a handle on where online their teen might be visiting, and what the dangers are. I highly recommend this book to all parents, grandparents and care-givers with children ten and above! It is a wonderful resource to empower us to help our teens in this technology-infused world!

We knew from the beginning that Seduced was/is not just a book. It's so much more than that. It's written by a woman who sits as president and CEO of Million Kids and Training and Outreach Coordinator for Riverside Anti Human Trafficking Task Force and even these perhaps, nebulous titles are not just titles. There is so much more to all of this human trafficking business and to the efforts involving in rescuing these innocent children.

There is so much that we as a society take for granted. What most of us do not know is that the demons involved in the well vascularized world of human trafficking snake through the United States with a sick precision. The pimps know what they're doing, how to do it and whom to target. They know.

But, we don't.

Most of us do not know that these predator/pimps make sweeping movements with their cloven-footed hooves and cull our youth with a few slick statements, personalized for their victims.

Where do these predator/pimps find these slaves-to-be?

They are playing video games like Clash of the Titans, Grand Theft Auto and World of Warcraft. They are hanging out online, possibly chatting with strangers via Kik, Omegle, ooVoo or Vine or others. Maybe, the intended victim has an Internet capable telephone where access to the world of bad strangers is inescapable?

We have to educate ourselves. We have to be smarter than this seedy hell-on-earth existence. We also have to watch our children. Are they suddenly moody, angry, skipping classes?

We also have to know how to approach a teen who may be at risk.

Please, educate yourself if you have young people in your home. Why? Your gentle writer lives in Fort Worth, Texas. The sickened vine of human trafficking runs through this very city. - See more at: http://www.ginaesays.com/2015/07/book...

Every parent must read this book!

Do you really KNOW how easy it is for our children to be recruited into the world of sex trafficking? Even if they come from loving, 2-parent homes? Reading this book might just save your child's life. Truly.
