2020 bk 50. ebook - This author's writing style is one of the closest styles to Kristen Painter (originator of the series). I liked the main and secondary characters, but wish she had given them all a little more depth. It was as if she was skimming the surface to keep down to an unknown specific word count. I enjoyed the setting, the plot was moving at a good pace until - 3/4 of the way through the book everything speeded up and what really happened at the end is told in reflection, while the main character was in a coma. The story could have been so much richer with the male character, his sister, the grandmother describing in more detail what was happening with the scarab, etc. during those three days. Enjoyed the story, would have enjoyed it better with a more fully fleshed out ending.

Fun story

A simple girl meets vampire story wth a few twists. I liked the ghost reverend. And Catherine didn't disappoint with her nastiness.

It was short. It was cheesey. It was adorable!! I laughed out loud 3 times. An ornery cat has a bit role to add to the cute factor. It's a very sweet amusing paranormal romance.

A very sweet read that takes place in the Nocturne Falls universe. Laurie is an excellent story teller and this book reflects her talents. Likable characters, interesting relationships and a good story. This is my first book by this author but it certainly won't be the last. I do think however, that this book was more a romance than any other genre.

It was a fast, predictable paranormal cozy mystery. Nothing that would tempt me to read another in the series

This was a delightful read and it got me interested in Laurie London. Not only that she beautifully wrote this book, but she managed to capture the spirit of Nocturne Falls perfectly. I immediately started reading one of author's previous books, that is how impressed I was with her writing, story telling and character development.
This novel is a suspense romance featuring Penelope, a medium and Luka, a vampire and an art dealer. Their romance is easy and beautiful, and with a lot of chemistry. Penelope is brave, resourceful and intelligent young woman, and Luka is sweet, charming and insightful. Both of them are extremely lovable characters and I wish there was a sequel. There is a beautiful knitting shop introduced, that I would love to visit, and a couple of very interesting side characters, Ghost Reverend and aunt Sylvia. The author takes us to several places in Nocturne Falls, and includes several of our well known and loved characters created by Kristen Painter.
This was truly a great book, possibly my new Nocturne Falls Universe favourite. Additionally, it seems that I found another author I will read a follow regularly.
The Nocturne Falls reading order is: The Vampire's Mail Order Bride (Nocturne Falls #1), The Werewolf Meets His Match (Nocturne Falls #2), The Gargoyle Gets His Girl (Nocturne Falls, #3), The Professor Woos The Witch (Nocturne Falls, #4), and The Witch’s Halloween Hero (Nocturne Falls #4.5) in Spell of the Ball Anthology, The Werewolf's Christmas Wish (Nocturne Falls #4.6) in Hex the Halls Anthology, The Vampire’s Fake Fiancée (Nocturne Falls #5), A Vampire's Valentine Surprise (Nocturne Falls #5.5), Miss Frost Solves A Cold Case : A Nocturne Falls Mystery (Jayne Frost #1), The Shifter Romances The Writer (Nocturne Falls #6), Miss Frost Ices The Imp : A Nocturne Falls Mystery (Jayne Frost #2), The Vampire’s True Love Trials (Nocturne Falls #6.5) in Taming the Vampire collection, Miss Frost Saves The Sandman : A Nocturne Falls Mystery (Jayne Frost #3), The Dragon Finds Forever (Nocturne Falls #7), and ever growing series of Nocturne Universe Novels, which surpassed fifteen by now. Great world to get yourself immersed in.

This is a great book; this book is part of the Nocturne Falls Universe and is written by Laurie London. The Nocturne Falls series is written by Kristen Painter and I was so happy that these new books by new authors were asked to write a story in the town. Nocturne Falls is a town that celebrates Halloween every day of the year and also a place that paranormal’s can live and not have to hide what they really are. Penelope Bechtel comes from a long line of mediums, so she shouldn’t have been surprised to see a ghost for the first time at the Waffle Emporium. But the gift he gives her puts her in terrible danger and sends her on the run. Luka Cavanaugh lost a bet, and now he's stuck modeling at a wine and painting party, where he meets a beautiful woman who threatens to untie the knots around his cold, undead heart. The problem is, he doesn’t date supernaturals. Too many secrets. Too much baggage. And Penelope is no exception. This is a great book with a wonderful story and well developed characters. This book will keep you reading long into the night. If you are looking for a great book, then you need to read this book. I am looking forward to reading the next book by this great author. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader’s copy of this book. The free book held no determination on my personal review.

How About I Stay Forever!?

Penelope Bechtel came from a long line of mediums, she wasn't surprised to see a ghost at the Waffle Emporium. The entity gave her a gift that left her running back to Nocturne Falls because of the danger that surrounded her.

Luka Cavanaugh, a Vampire who lost a bet now he found himself modeling for a wine and painting party where he met the one woman who threatened to awakened his cold heart. Penelope knew that he was a real vampire while he too discovered that she was not a mere human.

As Luka and Penelope got to know each other they found out that not only Penelope had foes even her aunt Sylvia unknowingly had one who was ruining her business. Penelope pulled away from Luka when hef ghost gave her a piece of tidbit that left her wary of him and his kind.

Will luka be able to change Penelope's mind about him? (You'll have to read the book to find out) ;).

HOW KNOT TO MARRY A VAMPIRE by Laurie London was set in Kristen Painter's NOCTURNE FALLS UNIVERSE . It was humorous, riveting and enchanting. Excellent execution by Laurie London. Two thumbs up!

As a new author in the Nocturne Falls Universe I didn't know how Laurie would fit into the town I've come to love. Laurie's book was cute, fun and paced just right. I felt she had done her research well and the characters she brought into her story were spot on. I loved how she incorporated in to the town and her characters were so cute that I enjoyed reading the book. She did an excellent job making you want to cheer when good things happened and get grumpy when things weren't going well. Her characters are well rounded and you got just enough back story for them that they didn't feel like they plopped out of a painting (or tapestry) onto the page. The conflict was situations you could see anyone facing (well anyone who lives in a world full of magic), and I could picture our dear departed reverend as Hattie's male alter ego. I almost wish he changed outfits just so that we could see more of his personality.
This book gets 5 stars easily. I hope to see Laurie back in Nocturne Falls with more characters.

Setting: Nocturne Falls, Ga. Contemporary
Genre: Lite paranormal rom-com

I really like Nocturne Falls where Halloween is celebrated year ‘round to give cover to the real things that go bump in the night. This is a world created by Kristen Painter with The Vampire’s Mail Order Bride, followed up with books for characters found there. Beginning in Spring 2017 (not really sure) Painter started inviting guest authors to write stories set in the Nocturne Falls Universe. This is one of them. It was published in September and I bought it right off. Kinda kicking myself for that. I usually don’t buy a book unless I loved it when reading it on KindleUnlimited. But I digress...
Laurie London gives us Penelope Bechtel, a Nocturne Falls girl who had been taken away by her mother when Penelope was very young. She had visited over school breaks, but didn’t learn a lot about her heritage from her aunt and grandmother (who has since died). She comes from a long line of mediums, but she has never seen a ghost or anything remotely paranormal. Then, one night while waiting tables at a diner, the preacher from across the street dies in his plate of waffles and his ghost appears and charges her with a task. She returns to Nocture Falls to get help from her aunt and meets Luka Cavanaugh, and they deal with several problems together while working their way to their HEA.
You know how, with some books, you need only to look at the title and the plot comes back to you? Well, that didn’t happen for me. Sure, I’ve read a few books since that day I read this, but it’s only been a month! Not to say it was bad. I recognize the bad ones as much as the good ones like remembering the liver and onions great-aunt Tillie cooked for a family visit a few years ago. I can remember the taste and texture after all these years, even after many scrumptious meals since then. But there I go, digressing again. Well, this book is neither liver and onions, nor a gourmet meal. It is something in between, lost with all the average meals and books in my life. Well enough written, a nice plot, cute characters, but still unremarkable, like Thursday night meatloaf. Good during the experience, but forgotten as soon as you get your fish and chips the next day.
So, going straight to the point, this is a pleasant, average book. It was a nice way to spend an evening, but it won’t end up near my favorites.
P. S. I found it amusing that the character’s family name is Bechtel. It might pass the book style of the Bechtel test, what with the yarn store and all.

As a medium Penelope has never seen or spoken to a ghost, and the last thing she was expecting was to run across one at her night shift at the Waffle Emporium. Tasked with holding onto a magical item until the proper people can come and collect it she heads to her Aunts at Nocturne Falls to hide. Enter Luka, who looses a bet and has to pose almost nude for an art class that Penelopes Aunt is attending on her entrance into the town.

Ghosts, vampires, mediums, magical artifacts and knitting what more can a story ask for. Penelope and Luka have a fun little romance with the occasional visit by Penelope's ghostly friend. I really enjoyed this book and how the characters interacted. Penelope and Luka are such a loveable pair and their romance is absolutely sigh worthy. I also found it contained a couple of twists I wasn't exactly expecting.

This is my first book by Laurie London, and I am anxious for more! This story takes place in the Nocturne Falls Universe. A medium, Penelope discovers her ‘gift’ at the most inconvenient time. Running away to save her life, she ends up in Nocturne Falls. Her Aunt Sylvia is a hoot, my favorite older family member in Nocturne Falls next to Birdie. Luka, a vampire in Nocturne Falls, is a straight forward guy who is interested in Penelope as soon as he meets her. This couple is so cute, especially as Penelope is portrayed as a cute, sweet, smart woman, and not the typical female character type portrayed in romance novels. It was a refreshing change. I couldn’t put this fast paced book down and finished it in 2 days. Enjoy!

I absolutely love Nocturne Falls! This novella is part of a Nocturne Falls Universe where certain authors write a story with Kristen Painter's beloved characters. I loved this story!! This story features Penelope a medium and sexy Luka a vampire. Penelope finally sees her first ghost, a local preacher who died in his waffles. He asks her a favor that puts her in serious danger. She runs to Nocturne Falls to get out of town and be with her aunt. Luka is an art dealer and collector, and now he wants to protect Penelope from the people who are looking for the item that the preacher gave Penelope. Can Luka protect Penelope from the bad people before the rightful guardians to the item can collect it. I am going to check out other books that Laurie has written!

How Knot to Marry a Vampire was a very delightful book. The story flew smoothly and beautifully. I really became engage with the characters that I really cared about them. Penelope, a medium, was a strong and intelligent woman, while Luka the vampire was a sweet and charming alpha guy. They might had their rules, but as stated in the blurb, some rules were meant to be broken.

I really felt that this book was the closest in atmosphere of Nocturne Falls with books written by Kristen Painter. The story woven seamlessly inside the NF universe. It was very enjoyable, and for us NF lovers, this book was very satisfying as it really gave our NF justice.

I was provided a complementary copy by the author / publisher, but this in no way influenced my thoughts or opinions.

How Knot To Marry A Vampire is super cute and fits right into the series.
I absolutely loved Luke. The character building is rather well done especially for such a short novel.
There is some cute banter and sweet swoony moments in here.
My biggest issue however was the storyline in the second half. It felt rushed and way way to convenient. It's like London tried to fit in every possible twist in the book into a novella. Which kinda ruined it for me. Still it's a sweet story and I did like the end very much, despite the all over sudden rather deep declarations...

How Knot to Marry A Vampire by Laurie London

Form the kindle world of Kristen Painter, a Nocturne Falls Universe story;. a town that celebrates Halloween every day so paranormals can live openly.

Written in first person alternating from both the male and female perspective, this charming story soon involves vampires, ghosts and a medium in a quirky tale of greed and protection.
Entertaining and imaginative.

This is an enjoyable addition to the Nocturne Falls Universe. The story quickly grabbed my attention and had me wanting to know what was going to happen next. I liked the characters and getting to know them. The author does a great job of blending her characters with those from the original series. This is the first book from this author that I've read and I look forward to reading more.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher, my review has been voluntarily submitted.

How Knot to Marry a Vampire by Laurie London, is A Kristen Painter Nocturne Falls Universe Story. A girl meets a ghost in a diner, then finds a vampire modeling for a Nude painting and wine party...

Ms. London creates a wonderful story involving known and new Nocturne Falls characters, and a wonderful story full of fun and danger, and a turquoise wearing ghost popping up in all the wrong places.

If you enjoy Nocturne Falls, you'll enjoy this new little corner of it!

I have to say, this is my favorite Nocturne Falls Universe book so far. The book is well written and captures Nocturne Falls beautifully. The book is about a medium who sees her first spirit during her waitressing shift. She goes back to Nocturne Falls to keep herself safe, as per the spirits instructions. Enter handsome vampire. With lots of action and some romance, you will not be disappointed.

Adorable story of Penelope who's life takes an unexpected turn one night and she goes to visit her Aunt for a little distraction ... and boy does she find it by the name of Luka. The two get twisted and tangled together and we get to sit back and read as it all unravels lol knitting puns ;) fun read!

This is one author that I will be checking out her other books. I've already signed up for her newsletters. This book just flowed so well. I loved the characters. Penelope's aunt was so much fun. It was so neat to have characters that could see and talk to ghosts. I loved how that was written. Luka was one hot hero! It was such a wonderful story plan about the scarab and the history behind it.

I found the inclusion of slightly geeky, hippie, knitting heroine in the NF Universe charming! I love the mismatch between the two romantic leads. There hasn’t really been any BBW storylines and this isn’t one either but at least she is sounds short, curvy, and a bit sloppy. It gives hope to all the female readers!

You know, I really would have loved this if the Hero's name wasn't Luka. Every time I read his name I got that *&%#@! song stuck in my head. I hated that song in the late '80's into the '90's and I still hate it now. It took all the pleasure of the story and series away. I just didn't think the name warranted less stars.

Penelope Betchel can see ghosts. The Reverend dies and tells her to grab a cuban cigar box. He warns her of the others. Penelope ends up escaping them in Nocturne Falls. She meets a vampire and there is a lot of chemistry. Her aunt owns a knit shop and she helps her there. Fun, romantic, with magic and suspense. Really enjoyed this story.

This may be one of the better Nocturne Falls stories not written by K.Painter. The two main characters have enough depth/dimension to them to make it a really nice, sweet story. The ending wrapped up pretty well, considering. Then again my expectations were lowered after reading a few other novellas related to this universe.

A great story.

I've read several of this author's Portal series and enjoyed them. I'm so glad she was invited to write in world. This is a great story and I enjoyed it. I hope she writes more in this world. Great book. If anyone ever wonders why I always seem to write such favourable reviews, it's because I tend to buy books I'm sure I'll enjoy.

This was a very fun short read that filled an afternoon. It is set in the Nocturne Falls Universe. Laurie London did an excellent job of keeping the feel of Kristen Painter's Nocturne Falls. I enjoyed reading about the different characters, both good and bad. This was just a fun addition to the Nocturne Falls stories.

Awesome read

This is Penelope and Luca's story. Pen is a medium and is a waitress while at work the local reverend falls dead in his plate and his ghost starts talking to Pen. He gives her a mission that lands her in Nocturne Falls with her Aunt Sylvia. The suspense starts there. This was a fun read. I loved Penelope and Luca. I recommend this book

It was very unusual set up compared to the rest of the series being in first person. I found that the underlying danger was not as pronounced or overbearing in the relationship. It was always there but you could see the friendship mixed with yarn related mysteries. It was enjoyable and a fun change even if I found Luka frustrating when he was with his sister.

I absolutely loved this book! Adorable story and well-written. Yes, it's light and fluffy, but that's exactly the point, and what I want when I download something like this. Pure escapism, and well done. Ghosts! Vampires! Magical Scarabs! What more could you want?! :) Also, I agree with others that this is true to the Nocturne Walls universe and style.
