Be The Sunshine

Rate this book
The one difficulty with having the name Sunshine is that people expect me to be…. well, sunshine all the time.

I have learned over time to embrace the Sunshine-ness that is my name. Yes, I may not always be joyful or exuberant all the time, but I have learned that if I rely on my friends, my family, and my faith, I can conquer each day head-on and live every moment with an expectation of goodness.

And that's what I wanted to share in this book, Be The Sunshine. It's not a book about how to be happy or seven ways to stay positive. These pages are about being yourself, showing the world your true colors, and being mindful of the moment. These chapters contain personal stories so that we all can experience love and joy for ourselves as well as shining that light on those around us!

So, just follow my voice. When it comes to being the sunshine, well, I know the way!

Be the Sunshine by Sunshine Rodgers is a work of non-fiction. Often, small things matter more than we can imagine, and Sunshine Rodgers does an excellent job of bringing that fact to life in this book. With personal stories and more, this book definitely kept me reading.

Including many wonderful passages of Scripture helped me appreciate this book. Sometimes life is not perfect and we all can use a dose of sunshine to help us remember God’s abundance of love for us. The author’s storytelling ability helps bring this book to life for me.

Sunshine Rodgers definitely “shines” the radiance of us, demonstrating God’s presence for those around us. Broken down into five sections, I feel like this book is great for anyone who desires to shine with the light of God’s presence for those around them.

So, if you are looking for a non-fiction work, check out Be the Sunshine by Sunshine Rodgers for yourself. I definitely recommend it.

I received a complimentary copy of this book, but this in no way influenced my review. All opinions are my own.

This nonfiction book oozes positivity and encouragement. It shares true experiences from the author and other believers, whose stories she includes to illustrate her points. The book’s five sections emphasize kindness, goodness, a fresh perspective, love, and helping others (along with the excuses we make for not assisting). The writing is honest, vulnerable, and personable. It gives the reader a sense of camaraderie with those sharing their lives within its pages. The book is short and easy to read. It could be consumed in a day or would make a good one to study with others and discuss the topics and how to apply the truths to our own lives. One section could be used each week this way. I think the author offers a good example of living for the Lord. Let’s join her in spreading love and kindness to others. I received a copy from Celebrate Lit. All opinions are my own.

This is a book that encourages the reader to do acts of love and to pray for others and to be a light for Jesus. It has personal testimonies of people that the author knows. It has lots of Biblical Scripture to back up the author’s beliefs. I recommend this book to all Christians.

"Look for ways to be an inspiration to others. Become the best version of yourself so that you can help other people be the best version of themselves. If you talk about how you volunteer at soup kitchens or how you attend a Bible study and set prayer times each morning, your passion and faith will fan the flame to those who hear it."

With a name like Sunshine, how could one ever be crabby? Sunshine Rodgers had to come to terms with the fact that she did not always have to live up to her name. But she also realized that her name could inspire her to make a difference in the lives of others. She wants to use her platform to be a blessing.

I appreciated the abundance of verses that are included in this book. It is clear that the author looks to the Bible for wisdom. She wants to point people to Jesus.

This book is full of encouraging thoughts. Sunshine wants to use her experiences to motivate others to also make a difference. Her positivity flows off the pages. Occasionally she came off a bit like a hyper cheerleader, but there is not doubt that is an optimistic person.

Sunshine decided to use her book as a way to highlight life experiences of her friends as well. She interviews several people and asks for their perspectives on her chapter themes. While I appreciate the fact that she wanted to honor others that she admires, their input was not quite as meaningful for me since I do not know them personally.

Overall, the book is encouraging and full of positive content. If you are looking for inspiration, this book could provide it. I was given an advanced copy of this book for a tour. All opinions expressed in this review are my own.

Having a unique name can be hard at times. Now I know my name isn’t all that unique but all through school and into adulthood I have had an issue with my name. People say it wrong and spell it wrong. One teacher even said that my mom spelled my name wrong. That was funny since I didn’t realize that a parent would intentionally spell their child’s name wrong. I have never liked my name and always wanted to change it. But I don’t think I would like to be called Sunshine. Oh I think it is an adorable name but what a chore to have that as your first name.

The author brings humor to her name. I didn’t realize how many songs had Sunshine in the title or the many jokes people had. This book is very encouraging and readers will see that Sunshine is more than just a name. When was the last time we checked on someone or told someone that we love them? What do we do to make the world a better place?

I love how the author gives illustrations of how we can help others and use our gifts to be the hands and feet of Jesus. We need to come together in unity and work together instead of judging and ignoring those in need. A smile goes a long way.

The book includes personal stories that help us see that we all struggle in areas. With scripture and helpful words, the author has written a book we can all benefit from. One thing that is discussed is prayer. The power of prayer can change someone who is desperate and without hope. Coming together in agreement we are lifting each other up and showing that we as a Body of Christ stand together.

I received a copy of this book from Celebrate Lit. The review is my own opinion.

A Ray of Positivity

"Be the Sunshine" shares the real-life journey of someone named Sunshine, dealing with the pressures of having a name associated with constant happiness. As a first-time reader of this author, I found the book to be a sincere exploration of self-acceptance and embracing one's uniqueness.

Unlike typical self-help books, "Be the Sunshine" doesn't prescribe happiness or positivity. Instead, it shares personal stories that delve into the author's life, emphasizing the importance of being true to oneself. The narrative centers on friendship, family, and faith, offering a relatable and encouraging outlook.

The book's strength is its genuine storytelling that connects with readers through shared experiences. It promotes being true to oneself and enjoying the present moment without feeling the need always to be happy.

"Be the Sunshine" is not a guide but a celebration of love, joy, and the beauty of living authentically. It leaves readers with a sense of upliftment, emphasizing that by being true to ourselves, we naturally radiate positivity to those around us.

I appreciated the Scripture shared in this book. It deepened the self-discovery journey and brought genuine inspiration. I look forward to exploring more from this author and the sincerity she brings to the literary world.

Note: I received a copy of this book from the author and was not required to write a positive review.

was lucky to have received an early copy of the text to review. I wasn’t actually able to read it until now, but it’s awesome how God’s timing works for giving you sweet little truth nuggets when you need them.

This book is an easy reminder of small little things we can all do to bring a little dose of Sunshine into peoples’ lives. Many of these things should be ingrained in us all ready but Sunshine and her friends offer some practical steps in incorporating things that we already should be doing.

I love her heart, and her intent and love for Jesus and others just radiates off the pages.

I truly enjoy Christian Non-Fiction books, especially ones that have inspiration and life stories from the Author. Be the Sunshine by Sunshine Rodgers is a book that fits that genre.

Life has it's ups and downs and our attitude toward the "small things" can resonate to others. Sunshine Rodgers has written this book not as a "how to" but as a way to encourage others to just be your best and show others your best. The book is filled wtih Scripture and personal stories from Sunshine that will get you thinking on how to achieve a positive life of being who God created you to be. Life will not always allow you to be positive and all smiles, but if you give your best you can make a difference in others lives.

I truly enjoyed this book from the very first chapter. God's timing in me reading this book is AMAZING as life struggles have me not feeling my best. I was VERY encouraged by Sunshine's wisdom throughout the book. I HIGHLY recommend this to anyone who needs a little inspiration and encouragement. GREAT BOOK!

Sunshine Rodgers shows how she was able to embrace herself in her Be The Sunshine. The book is broken down into five parts on how she herself was able to find the sunshine:
Act in Kindness
Shout Goodness
A Fresh Perspective
The Power of Love
Why Do We Not Help?
Each part includes her own personal stories and commentary that show encouragement for her readers. Scriptures are added all throughout the book, also. I love her tips and positivity that I will try to use for myself, as well as, continuously to have God’s presence known in life.

I am giving Be The Sunshine five plus stars. I believe readers who enjoy reading clean and inspiring nonfiction / self help books.

I received a copy of Sunshine Rodgers’ Be The Sunshine from the publisher, but was not required to write a positive review. This review is one hundred percent my own honest opinion.

Sunshine Rodgers has chosen to live up to her name by trying to brighten the lives of those around her, and she hopes others will do the same. In her book, Be the Sunshine, Rodgers shares suggestions to help them achieve that goal.

This book is written in an easy, conversational style that made me feel like I was talking with the author as she shared personal stories, an abundance of Bible scripture, and the value of faith, friends, and family.

Her suggestions are both worthy and attainable, and the encouraging and inspirational thoughts truly motivated me! I recommend Be the Sunshine to all who enjoy Christian nonfiction.

I received a complimentary copy from the author via Celebrate Lit Book Tours. There was no obligation for a positive review. These are my own thoughts.
