I loved the pacing of the book and the twists! I had a hard time putting down this book and it makes for an excellent binge read.

My only issue was some unanswered questions I had about a couple of things, but maybe I'll get them answered during our chat and my rating will go to a 5 :) ...more

Ok, it’s really official now. John Marrs is one of my favorite authors. This was my fourth book by him and I loved it!

I previously read THE ONE, KEEP IT IN THE FAMILY, and WHAT LIES BETWEEN US. THE ONE was my favorite until now….THE STRANGER IN HER HOUSE might very well take the cake.

I like demented and messed up novels and characters and this book did not disappoint there.

Also, the twists?! Every single one is jaw dropping. Despite guessing the first major one, I was still invested and absolutely could not put this book down.

This was a super fast-paced, bingeworthy read! I haven't read a book this fast in a long time. Probably helps that the chapters are super short, too.

Loved the multiple POVs and it was fun trying to solve things along the way, some of which I didn't come close to guessing. I also enjoyed how everything came together at the end. That being said, the end's pacing didn't match the rest of the book because it felt too rushed and jam-packed.

Highly recommend this as your next thriller book. I think you'll fly right through it!

The campus vibe is right up my alley, so I devoured this book. It held my interest the entire time and it was hard for me to put down.

Some things were predictable and others were not. Love how everything all came together in the end!

I especially loved this one because it was Hunger Games meets Ready or Not meets Ace of Spades. LOVED every second of it.

The MC is a badass through and through. She’s smart and a force to be reckon with! I don’t want to say much more than that because I think if you’re going to read this book you should go in blind. I had zero expectations going into this and LOVED it.

TJ Newman wrote FALLING and that book was intense (!!!) and I didn’t think any book could match its severity. Boy, was I wrong. DROWNING made FALLING seem mild!

Heart-pounding, edge-of-your-seat, complete non-stop action from the first word of the book to the last word - no joke.

I keep seeing that this was optioned to become a movie and WHEW!!! I cannot wait for that. I think this is what you call a high-octane thriller and translated to a movie will be a huge hit! (Thinking along the lines of Greenland or San Andreas.)

The ending is what pushed this 4.5-star read into a 5-star read ...more

Yep, everyone was right, this is Lisa Jewell’s best book! I loved this so much. I mixed up reading it and listening to it and I have to say the audio is amazing. Highly recommend listening to it if you’re an audiobook person.

Lisa did a great job with this psychological domestic suspense like she does so often with her books. There were many points in the book where I couldn’t believe what I was reading and several times where I had to go back and reread something to make sure I read it correctly.

I’m so excited to chat with my book club about this one since I’m left with so many questions especially about the ending. AND!!! I’m super excited to have Lisa Jewell on our author chat in early September so we can ask her all the questions!

If you’re looking for a book that will have you thinking and second guessing everything, read this one! Also, be prepared to get sucked in and likely read this in one sitting. ...more

This is my fourth book of his, and I have not given any of his books less than five stars.

If you like raw, gritty, dark, Southern noir, emotional, and action-packed thrillers, pick up ALL THE SINNERS BLEED (and any of Shawn’s books).

His writing is like no other. It’s so authentic and powerful and poetic. His words flow together so well — I’ve said it before, he is a literary genius!

His stories make you think. They go deeper than your typical thriller, which is probably why I love them so much. The exact opposite of a popcorn thriller, if you will.

I came back to edit this review to say the main characters of his books always shine, too! There’s no fluff or bs with them. What you see is what you get and that’s especially true of Titus in ALL THE SINNERS BLEED.

Please go read his books. They are phenomenal! ...more

I couldn’t put it down. It was so fast-paced and delicious and I needed to know what was going to happen.

A psychological domestic thriller with lots of audible gasps and twists, I was hooked from beginning to end.

I would have liked the ending to be just as twisty as the rest of the book, but I still didn’t mind the way it ended. I think it still worked.

Highly recommend this book if you want a binge read and something to hold your interest!

Can’t wait to read more by Harding. ...more

Heather became an auto-buy author after I read her fast-paced debut thriller, NO BAD DEED. I am ecstatic she’s coming out with her third thriller, BEFORE SHE FINDS ME, and I’m happy to report that it, too, is awesome!

If you love:

✅ morally grey characters
✅ unexpected twists
✅ intriguing secrets
✅ strong, complex female main characters (that you’ll be rooting for despite their differences)
✅ dual POVs
✅ books that keep you guessing

then you’ll love this book!

This novel continues to showcase Chavez's talent for creating strong, multifaceted female main characters, and the dual POVs adds an extra layer of interest.

The story kept me guessing until the very end forcing me to throw out all my theories, and the family dynamics woven throughout added depth to every character. I highly recommend this book to all thriller lovers! ...more
