Look, I stopped reading why choose because it's not usually a representation I like, I'm a fan of polyam romance and this one was perfection. We've witnessed Orla and Nash's relationship throughout the previous books and at last they are together. And between Orla and Locke. Daddy Lock, that man is hot and sweet af and no wonder they both can't resist him. I love that the emphasis is more on how his relationship with Nash takes time and a bit of healing on Nash's part. The cliffy killed me, but at least next book is already out....more

Dude, Rubi is the sweetest mfucker ever and River is just a chaos gremlin. I liked that the stakes outside their relationship weren't that high and it was mostly about them letting themselves love and be loved. As always, Alexei was my fav, with his unicorn socks and his horror at holding a baby. Lizard people ftw. That includes Saint and his Master Yoda ways. Also, I can't wait for Nash to smooch Locke. Awesome addition. Fav MC series ever....more

To continue with the mobsters who want to sub to 'civilians', we get Elio who is obsessed with MMA fighter Orion to the point where he just wears him down and winds him up to hate fuck. Or is it truly hate fucking...? Elio is such a brat and Orion has such a quick temper. Get ready for a huge amount of humiliation kink, some praise, even a bit of degradation, a few spankings and dubious use of shampoo as lube (please, for the love of Satan, do not do this at home). Orion believes Elio is just an entitled mafia brat, but he learns the truth of who his mobster is and he ends up falling hard. Elio is just there for Orion and his brother, who needs medical care. We get a bit more mafia shenanigans and a glimpse of a future pairing (Dante has me intrigued af). The smexy times were good and abundant ...more

I very much enjoyed the relationship development between John and Lukas. Lukas has been in love with supposedly straight John, a very good friend of Lukas' parents. And then one day, supposedly straight John realises he is very attracted to Lukas. What a cute romance! Opposites attract, with grumpy/sunshine, romantic/non romantic. Clay, who is a grumpy closed off journeyman, inherits a building from his granddad, whom he's never met. Nicholas, who is a sunshiney optimist florist, rents his flower shop in the building Clay has inherited. They have a bit of a disastrous meet-cute, involving ditch and some flowers. Nicholas is just the sweetest guy and Clay isn't immune to his good-natured charm. They start a friendship of sorts that becomes fwb relationship in which Clay, who is bisexual but has never had the chance to have a relationship with a man, gets to explore. In turn, Nicholas gets to have some of his fantasies fulfilled too. On paper, they couldn't be more different, but Clay, who has been on his own and feels like he'll never belong, is just dying to have someone adopt him like a stray puppy. A Nicky, who wants grand romantic gestures and a romance to sweep him off his feet, has to learn to find romance in the little things. Together they are ...more

The sassy ruthless vampire assassin Vin and the mafia wolf shifter Angelo, who happens to hate vampires in general, are made to work together when Vin's life is threatened by the head of the vampire coven. I liked the worldbuilding, with the city -New Trinity-- ruled by mobster vampires, wolf shifters and witches. There was a bit of too much exposition at times, but otherwise the worldbuilding was ingrained in the development of the story. The romance has one of my fav tropes: 'I really like you but I loathe liking you'. My boy Angelo was reluctant to give in, but thankfully Vin wasn't deterred and knew that even if he fell first, his puppy would fall harder. I also enjoy the mystery and the evil dudes: first Kyan, the head of the vampire Coven, and then the anti supe group, who is a bit obscure and I am sure we will learn more about them in the next book.

She has the ability to write angsty moments without being ott and to portray beautiful romantic moments without being sappy. This romance had the perfect balance between the two. Beau, our strong reliable farmer, has a lot going on in his life. His sister's wedding, his father's illness, and his need for someone to take solace in. I understood so well his struggle with feeling lonely and needing someone to be strong for him, instead of him always being everyone's rock. Trevor feels unlovable and undeserving of care. He is a fake boyfriend and that's how he meets Beau. They fall hard and fast for each other, but they struggle to own up to their feelings, especially Trevor. They spend quite a long time apart, but it didn't feel like it. I usually dislike separation, but in this case, it was needed and didn't feel like a plot device. I loved how Beau broke down Trevor's defences with his caring nature and how Trevor just becomes the safe place for Beau to stop being strong. Their relationship was so wholesome and their dates were so beautiful *sighs dreamily*. I liked the little found family in the Fake Boyfriends club, how they're accepted by Beau's lot. I also appreciated how this Eli was there for Trevor.

It has taken me a few days after finishing it and I'm still not over how utterly hopeful and full of love and good weird feelings this book is. Recovery is most certainly not linear and not everyone makes it, but how Nordika Knight has managed to portray the ups and downs without making it some kind of torture porn or ott drama was healing for me. The way Gage explains his struggle and how he needs to find better ways to cope and live, to find a desire to cling to life in a positive healthy way is something all of us people in recovery know and strive for. How Alexei holds space for him to find them was brilliantly done. There's no magic cure relationship here, just someone to be there for Gage and to let him figure out what he needs without taking over. The support net Gage finds in his family and Nathan was beautiful too. I loved how Alexei had also someone to appreciate his weirdness and his anal retentive tendencies without attempting to change him. Another take I loved was the sex/intimacy between these two. No rushing, not defining sex just by penetration, building up their feelings, the amount of consent and respect and gentleness. It was PERFECT. Look, I don't want to spoil the whole book by telling you all the brilliant moments, but you need to read this, even if you haven't struggled with addiction or known anyone who does/did, this book talks about finding your way after being lost and finding a love that suits you. And I love it. Even more because we are portrayed as human beings beyond our struggles ...more

This book had all the makings of a great PNR mafia romance but it didn't catch my attention as much as I wanted. It had yakuza, a young ambitious journalist with a bone to pick, disappeareances, a curse, hot af smut and violence. But. I don't know why, it didn't quite move me as I had hoped. Perhaps there was a bit more of telling than of showing than I would have liked. Maybe it was the at times ott drama. It was a good book, don't get me wrong, I am sure it's a me thing. It was such a beautiful story about healing, open communication, trust, found family and love. Mutt is the most precious being ever and must be protected. And Jeffrey was so broken and so fucking strong. Them being together was sweet and painful because they had a looming heartbreaking future - which could have been solved with open communication with a lot of the people involved, but ya know, we love our drama. The acceptance they both offered each other, the gentle safe space they became for the other, oh my heart. This being a Spooky Boys story meant Fae Quinn was gonna take her time describing feelings and thoughts and moments, so we spend A LOT of time in the MCs head, which at times felt a bit too much, but all in all it also gave all the feels so I'm not going to complain.
I loved this book even when sometimes I just wanted to throw my kindle away and curl in a ball to cry and swoon....more

Their relationship works because grumpy cold Mal is secretly a baby who need someone to love him and North is just a golden retriever ball of sunshine who gives absolutely no fucks about how grumpy and cold Mal is. It's mostly them banging BDSM-ly, at first a bit rough without aftercare or talking much about limits, but it evolves into them being super in tune.
