This really is my guilty pleasure these days, completely OTT but I can't help but love the type of heroes that Shen excels at.
Hunter is a character from the previous All Saints High series and I feel like I've been waiting years for his book. Ripped from his dudebro life in Cali, he now finds himself in Boston alongside his horrendously rich and toxic family.
Meet Sailor, the daughter of an Irish mob boss (See Sparrow) and the girl whose been tasked to keep Hunter in check.
I loved getting to know the story behind Hunter and his reasons for keeping girls at arms length. He truly craved love but was equally scared of rejection. Sailor was an interesting character, and it was nice seeing how she always had Hunters back when his whole family seemed to be against him.
The story was good, none of the usual drama llama that you may expect but also by the same token I found it a little bit... bland? Without spoiling it I did wonder why she had an about turn on her Archery career at the end, but maybe I missed something.
Overall, I thought this was a fantastic way to start the series and introduce us to new characters that will be featured. I'm especially excited to read about Sailor's brother Sam, and Hunter's brother Cillian!

I am so relieved to say that this book lived up to the hype! After being slightly underwhelmed with Kai's book due to the fact that it focused a lot on Damon, I will admit that it most definitely was 100% necessary, as there was a lot of info that lead up to this culmination. Damon turned out to be an anti-hero that redeemed himself, a feat that I really didn't think would happen. Guys, he made me cry!
After doing many bad things to his closest friends, including almost killing his best friend Will, I absolutely hated him during both Corrupt and Hideaway. We are introduced to Winter Ashby, the girl he went to prison for raping, and we find out why they hate each other and why his purpose in life is to torment her but also keep her close.
I loved the twists, and I loved the backstory between Damon & Winter. I also couldn't get enough of the way they tormented each other. The bond between Rika & Damon was also fabulous to watch, and also the glimpses of how much he loved his sister, Banks. There was so much passion in this book, I devoured every page and think that this was the perfect HEA for Damon.
We also got to know Will a little bit more, so I am intrigued to see how his story pans out in Nightfall.

Woah where has Nikita Slater been hiding from me all this time?
This Mafia/Cartel romance was caliente! I loved Bolivian crime boss Reyes, he was super possessive and alpha, but so adoring of his chosen Queen, Casey, who he steals from his rival.
Overall though it was a really good story, with a perfect anti-hero that had me on the edge of my seat as to what he was going to do next in order to claim his woman.
My only reason for not giving it a full 5 stars was that I found the steamy scenes in the last third of the story a bit tedious... Great scenes but I would have preferred extra plot in it's place.
I'm excited to read more books by this author, and for a mafia story, it was my ideal mix of dark, sweet, thrilling & highly entertaining....more

My mind is all over the place, what an unexpected surprise from Colleen Hoover!
A romantic thriller, that absolutely blew my mind, creeped me the heck out, and got me hot under the collar all in the space of a few pages. When I first began to read Verity, I admit that I wasn't too sure what all the fuss was about, I wasn't really sure where it was going, but then boom, it led me into a weird and wonderful rabbit hole of craziness.

I really liked the first book in this series, I didn't love it as much as I usually love Pam Godwin's books, but it was decent all the same. Buckled is book 2 in the series of 'not standalones' and I have to tell you that I really, really liked this one. Jarrett was a far more intriguing brother than his twin Jake.
The chemistry was fabulous, and despite the instalove, it was a really well-paced romance between cowboy Jarrett and the mysterious Maybe, who came crashing into town looking for answers he doesn't want to give.
Whilst not as dark as the usual Godwin fare, this series is pretty kinky and well suited to readers who like a little dark but not too much.
I cannot wait for Lorne's book - that is going to be one hell of a ride!
Trails of Sin series follows 4 childhood friends who grew up together on a working ranch, and the series is set to follow all of them and their HEA's.
Pam Godwin has to be my Queen of dark romance, this was a fantastic start to what I predict to be a thrilling and emotional series.

Knotted gives us Jake and Conor, sweethearts as kids who had their whole life planned until one awful day on Conor's 16th birthday. Let me tell you now, this was a hard and horrific start to any book, but in true Godwin style, it completely set the scene for what was to become a pretty thrilling and fucked up read, but with very dark themes and a sense of honour and loyalty between her characters.
I loved the first half of this story, but I lost a bit of momentum in the latter part I am sad to say - I can't put my finger on what it was exactly but it was still very good.

OK maybe a few more, I am officially addicted to this saga, and even though I find myself a little bored sometimes, I live for the moments between Feyre and Rhys, and also the rest of the Night Court Inner Circle. The characters in this story are phenomenal, I love them.
Let's get back to Rhys, he is the most perfect man/fae/high lord - a feminists dream hero - he treats Feyre exactly how a woman should be treated. Like a woman with her own mind and strength and conviction. Perfecto! ...more

This story follows Tate, who after being released from captivity, is convinced he is in love with Camilla (book 3). He vows to find Camilla's missing sister to bring her some much needed peace, but is thrown for a loop when he meets the woman responsible for raping and torturing innocent men on behalf of a Venezuelan crime Lord.
Lucia was such a great character I loved her, she was a fierce woman who had many levels to her - no wonder Tate fell head over heels in love with her, and I loved how much he needed to protect her right from the start. Tate was a true alpha who met his match with this woman!
This series is so dark and gruesome, but despite the horrible acts of violence and the psychological torture, the characters are an absolute delight to read about. It's a rocky journey but one that will make you feel so full of love by the end that it's worth all the pain it took to get there.
As always, I cannot wait to see where the next book leads us...
