After the last book I thought maybe the Will Trent series was done and I felt good about it, but this book really put everything together and I do think this is maybe the end of this storyline. Now, if we could get just one Lena book...please! Anyway, this is a very Karin Slaughter style book all the way until the end. Kathleen Yearly gives such an amazing audio story and it is such a good listen. All around I was very glad about this book.

I will be reading more of his stuff!

This book kept me turning pages. There was definitely suspense throughout, but I thought there might be a final surprising twist right at the end and there wasn't. That being said, my own high expectations made the ending a bit disappointing for me. Also, there were lots of errors in the book which always annoys me.

It could be an X-Files episode, so if you like realistic stories with a bit of supernatural flair, you'll appreciate this one!

Super crazy, most authors I feel like I would've been overwhelmed or burned out on the drama, but Lisa made the crazy seem manageable and the answers just out of reach all in a really good way. The audio was really good, I normally am not real into full on casts but this was just right.

Besides being left with A LOT of questions that will hopefully be answered in the next book (it's a duology!), I really enjoyed this magical world of spells, magicians, and mystery! Elsie is a spellbreaker who is being directed by a mysterious group to break certain spells, but all is not what it seems and there's mad dash at the end to find answers. Along the way, the introduction of a handsome Bacchus hints at some potential romance. Can't wait to dive back into this story with Spellmaker.

This book is not my usual style, as it is a book about a normal girl's life. No real things just her struggling through. Normally I find that boring as I happen to also be just a girl struggling through life. Why would I want to read something I'm already doing? I stopped about halfway through for another book. That book was terrible, so I came back and I liked the book. It is nothing spectacular, but the writing is good, characters are good, and the development is also good.

Being over 35 brings a whole new set of baggage and is way more relatable to me. Normally my problem with romance is the happily ever after, as I feel it's tired, not realistic, and a dated thought process on sex and relationships, but I felt in this book it was right. Highly recommend the audio. The narration was really good and added to the story, I think.

Even though Liv and Finn knew of one another, they were attracted to one another that night and ended up going home together. That night Liv suffers a horrible loss and from that summer on, Finn and Liv are inextricably connected. Every summer they reunite as long as they are single. How many summers will it take for them to go all in? Or, is the better question how many summers will it take for them to move on?
This book was a very British romance, which to me, an American, means much more introspective, more thoughtful, and less spicy. This is neither good nor bad, just different. I enjoyed it a lot but felt that parts were pretty slow, making it feel like I was slogging through in order to get on with the storyline. I found myself rooting for Liv and Finn, so props to Paige Toon for getting me to buy into their relationship so hardcore!

Each time, the book descriptions lure me in, and I convince myself that this attempt will be different. That I'll finally grasp it! Yet, I remain perplexed; the prolonged and sluggish pace simply doesn't resonate with me.

I found myself unable to complete the book because it left me feeling deeply uncomfortable and disgusted by the portrayal of masculine energy (which is spot on from my experiences). It's important to note that this isn't a criticism of the author's work, as they did a commendable job. However, it became apparent to me that this wasn't the right book for me to read at this particular time.

I don't know much about Slavic or Polish folklore, but I found myself drawn into this story and relating to the three main characters, despite only having 163 pages to get to know them. Perfect dose of fantasy for someone who needs a break from the long, endless sagas of today's fantasy writers. The tale is a bit violent, so be aware if you are at all squeamish.

Hart is a rugged and hard marshal. Mercy is a caring undertaker trying to keep her family business afloat. They have hated one another since their first meeting. Hart becomes so desperate for connection that he writes a letter to a "friend," being honest about his yearning to be honest and create a connection. Somehow this letter gets delivered in the mail to Mercy. Unbeknownst to her, she begins a pen-palship with a stranger...or is it?
This is another fantasy romance mashup but more tame and cozy than others. I am rounding my star rating up because I think that I would have liked it even more had I read it instead of listening to the audiobook version. Bannen created a unique fantasy world and I was rooting for the main characters to succeed. If you are looking for something sweetly different, this is the book for you.

Zeus is determined to make an example of Persephone after the massacre that occurred in the mortal realm. Hades, on the other hand, has taken Persephone under his wing and will not give her up to his brother. Needless to say, that the relationship between Persephone and Hades heats up while more and more people are questioning Zeus' stand.
Another great Volume to a wonderful series. The illustrations really bring to life the feelings throughout the story making them feel more vivid while reading it. I just love how Smythe has brought these characters to life, and into the 21st century, with sly humor and wit! I personally felt this in the virtual meeting scene! Grab this one and devour it just like the rest!

I adore Mhariri's writing, especially her knack for portraying authentic characters alongside Irvine Welsh. Maybe I just have a soft spot for Scottish writers! While this book wasn't my top pick from her repertoire, it still held its own. Plus, the trope wasn't exactly my cup of tea either.
Regarding Rachel, do you think she might be autistic? Despite her sometimes chilly demeanor, I couldn't shake the feeling that she's on the spectrum. It seemed like she often masks and struggles with certain social cues. Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but if she is, I must say it's a commendable representation of a mature woman with autism. As for the love story, it left me feeling lukewarm – not my preferred trope, so I wasn't exactly enthusiastic from the get-go. Still, I'm definitely looking forward to the follow-up novella. There's that to anticipate, at least!

Initially, it felt like it was crafted for the screen, but it didn't make the cut, so they attempted to transform it into a book. While I can imagine it being somewhat charming as a movie, it didn't quite capture my interest in book form. I'm usually drawn to stories with time-shifting elements, so I was hopeful when I heard this was one. However, it turned out to be dull, and the protagonist grated on my nerves. Perhaps it picks up later on, but I found myself questioning why I was investing my time in it when I was about 70% through, so I decided to stop listening.

When stories start introducing elements that make me think of them as actual animals, I lose interest. The idea of intimate relations with an animal is something I absolutely want to avoid thinking about. Besides that discomfort, this book just doesn't align with my tastes. I find the trope of the brooding guy who's inexplicably drawn to some irritating woman rather uninteresting.
