I think my lack of satisfaction with these novellas is (this might be a *spoiler* so guard yourself accordingly) but we only get the story up until the couple starts to become…well the couple. We just infer the happy that comes after. We don’t even get one chapter of coupledom. It’s not satisfying enough for me. You might love it though, who am I but a voice on the internet ...more
2.5⭐️ I liked parts of this, and didn’t enjoy others. This is an insta-lust fated mates type situation which is fine, but it was VERY insta. Especiall2.5⭐️ I liked parts of this, and didn’t enjoy others. This is an insta-lust fated mates type situation which is fine, but it was VERY insta. Especially for our zombie fae MMC. Ok I think my biggest complaint would be that there were so many other side characters that we were setting up for their own stories(which was their sole purpose, they did little for the plot) Literally every future pairing is established in this book. So the actual main characters didn’t have much actual development…? Maybe. I dunno something felt off.
Also very horrible things have happened to our characters in the past but the writing style is very quirky/casual so it didn’t feel as epically traumatic as it would have been. Then things were hinted at (example: our FMC having scars both self-inflicted and from traumatic events) that were mentioned in passing then never revisited.
I like the idea of a small island full of kooky monsters and paranormal characters but this book felt like it couldn’t decide if it was cozy or dark or just straight up fae smut. ...more

If you want the fluffiest relationship ever this should do the trick. It was a little to precious for me. I should warn you they say he is a grumpy character, he is not. They just all talk about how grumpy he is, this man-bear is literally never grumpy. This is like the romance book equivalent of an adult onesie with bunny ears. Some people don’t need that level of cutesy snuggle. But if you do I’m happy you found it. ...more

2.5 ⭐️ I actually skipped a book to get here because I had been interested in Clara and Henry since the first book in the series. (Wolf Gone Wild is g2.5 ⭐️ I actually skipped a book to get here because I had been interested in Clara and Henry since the first book in the series. (Wolf Gone Wild is great if you haven’t read it yet!) Unfortunately this book rides the line of stand alone and continuation. It heavily relies on you having read the other books to appreciate the romance while hitting you over the head with details from other books like you haven’t been here for the books before. For example if I had to hear about Jules and Ruben being in England one more time I was going to scream. It was like every time that couple was vaguely referenced we had a pop up add that said “Jules and Ruben went to England in their book” that took up the whole screen. I swear I expecting strangers to work “Jules and Ruben are in England” causally into conversation IRL.
Clara and Henry felt very insta-love because all the build up had been in previous books, so it was more annoying that the information about them would be mentioned once (which was plenty) while not important stuff from other books was being hammered in every other page. Did I mention Jules and Ruben are in England?
Ok so let’s get to the penis in the room. A big character point is Henry doesn’t like to be touched until Clara is in his life. There are even moments when friends touch him and he makes a point about how it doesn’t bother him anymore because Clara or romance I dunno. But then this man has a Prince Albert, now I have so many questions! Who pierced this man’s business?! If he has full on panic attacks when touched he just let a stranger stick jewelry thru his junk!?! Did he pierce it himself?… later he mentioned he saw Clara for the first time, they didn’t interact at all, and he went and got his ...more

Maybe because Tabitha’s stockpiling of weapons made way more sense to me than Chelsea’s lack of self preservation. Jrrru is a little insta-lusty but it’s Risdaverse…so go with it. Tabitha is suspicious at first, but soon can’t wait to see her big orange kitty-man every time he makes an excuse to visit. It’s supposed to be more “slow-burn” but it’s only 120-ish pages Again it’s fine cause Risdaverse…so you guessed it, we go with it. I think I’m ready for a new alien species of love interest next book. The kitty-men aren’t my favorite...more
