The plot line is interesting, but things get crazy once the multiple point of views in the form of the Harrison family start to chime in. Dark humor keeps you laughing or at least chuckling, while you hold on for the twisty plot ride toward the ending. Overall, a very good read and I would recommend just because of the unique storyline. There are characters we like and others we do not. The contract makes me cringe, thinking about all the people who never read what they sign!

The three sisters have to get married or they have to marry according to the legal documents. What's crazy is that Luke is right there, pretending to already be engaged to Misty...and her sisters are on her case to find true love. I adore the love that this family has for each other!
I liked Second Bride Down as much as the first book in the series, and it can be read as a standalone. Witty, fun and full of gushy moments... our heroine Misty is also sassy! Definitely an enjoyable romance!...more

Steve Galanos knows John and Mary's secrets and can't wait to share them at a housewarming party for his former best friend, John. The house party is an implosion of secrets and drama - but I really like the way that Cuesta writes. Told in terms of a flashback, Steve's internal conversations are definitely worth reading!

I also really enjoyed each of the characters, and how different they are. They all had struggles that to me seemed realistic.
I am older than the main characters in The Most Likely Club (my second child was born in 1997) but I still enjoyed all the flashbacks to the things that were cool back then. All the nineties references made me smile or cringe.
There were times where I thought that author Elyssa Friedland could have dived deeper into the issues that the women were facing. Overall, this was an enjoyable read!

On the surface, it seems kind of silly that a group would be so nasty...but we have all watched and read Mean Girls. Most of us have witnessed it first hand...so the plot twists, though intense, take the reader on a wild ride where the word sacrifice has multiple meanings. I liked the characters or rather, mostly disliked the characters. Most of them are deeply broken or flawed (or both)....more

Unfortunately for Iris, she is a witch who wrote a curse that could be unleashed on everyone if they do not find the owl who swooped it up and took off with it. This journey is about so much more than the curse written in haste. Wild is the Witch explores secrets and anxiety while Iris and Pike journey to save something much bigger than themselves. Their enemy to lovers story is based on very young adults/ teenagers that still have so much to learn about communication. I loved the nature - animals and trees in the forest. The setting was written so well, it is my favorite part! Definitely an enjoyable young adult read!...more

The past relationship between our two main characters is mostly explored through flashbacks. Lucas and Sydney do not seem like they are in the perfect places in their lives to start a relationship... of course, in real life that is when we typically meet someone, right? Sydney still needs to work through issues with her ex and Lucas needs to push past his fear. Regardless they have this intense attraction and the bonds of friendship are really growing. Although it is part of a series, I read it as a stand alone. The cover caught my eye, but the summary really was what convinced me to read this book. The police detective who comes from an Amish background is interesting but then add that she is going to investigate a murder among her Amish people really grabbed my attention. I do not want to write too much, only enough to tell you that the character development, plot, twists and turns, and ending had me all caught up into finding out what happened. When Amelia, owner of a concierge wellness clinic recruits Maya to work for her, Maya thinks she has her dream job. Soon she realizes she needs more help, so Maya winds up hiring her former assistant to help her.
When red flags start showing up at her new job, Maya slowly starts to realize she has some difficult choices to make.
What I loved about this book: This book deals on heavy duty topics like respect for women and for professional women who do not fit into society's stereotype. I like Maya's representation of Indian culture and felt that author Madi Sinha handled the themes of racism, elitism, mental health, women's healthcare, work and family balance, and finding your own voice. Although the topics are serious, they are handled with respect and humor in a journey that I am sure you would enjoy as much as I did. Highly recommend as Maya's journey is one we can all relate to!
