Again, good writing, fast paced, no typos. But it seemed like book 6 and 7 could have easily been combined into a single book. And again, this ended on a cliffhanger. Which I HATE because the next book isn't coming out for MONTHS. BOOOO !!!! HISSSSS !!!!!!

We see a more vulnerable side to Pitch and a more determined side to Sickle. For all the slow, excruciating burn of the first several books, we at long last see a fire of heat, passion and love blaze between the two MCs. Sickle is enraged his daemon is viewed as a pawn. A quote...
"And as for the one he coveted...the prince had been created to fight an endless war. And was treated as nothing more than a bloody pack horse when it suited the higher powers. Never gently, of course. No, no. Only harshness for him. A soul given so little care that Pitch did not recognize what it was to be cared for at all."
Ahhh. sigh. Sickle you are such a romantic. Our master of death goes on to do everything in his power to show Pitch how much he is truly loved.
I warn you though, this ends in a big cliffhanger. And there are parts where I might have misted up a bit too. So its not for the faint of heart. ...more

Pros: Could have been an interesting plot. Tennyson (the psychic) and Ronan (the Detective) are working together again to find the deranged serial killer of young male prostitutes. I like most of the characters, even the ancillary ones. There are some funny moments with memorable quotes like: “Shit, piss and corruption!” “I’m so deep in the fucking closet I can practically see Narnia.”
Cons: The plot flamingly fell apart at the end where even my suspension of disbelief couldn’t pull it out of its grave. The characters seem all over the place. One minute they’re sweet, nice, understanding. The next they’re raging. Over minor stuff. I was getting whiplash. There are weird typos here and there. It’s not a HEA or even an HFN, it’s very much a cliffhanger in terms of the main character’s relationship at the end which I personally dislike.
I’ll read the next, because I’m not a quitter. Hopefully it gets better. ...more

Devon an omega and Brad's brother, has bartered himself to the Grayridge pack in order to secure peace between the two rival packs. Constantine, the Grayridge Alpha, just so happens to be Devon's fated mate. You'd think the whole soul mate thing would make it easy for Devon and Constantine to form a bond. Nope. You thought wrong. This book is full of angst (not too heavy though) and a cliffhanger (I soooo hate those). Luckily the next book was already out when I read this so on to the next.

Have you ever looked at a menu and thought WOW, that dish sounds delicious? Only to order and find out the it tastes like stewed socks and garbage? Disappointing right?
That’s how I felt about this book.
First, you should know you really need to read the prequel in Fated Mates: an MM Paranormal Romance Charity Anthology to know what the heck is going on. A good part of it really should have been included in this book, while other parts of the book should have been cut. Lots of spoilers below.
In the prequel, Pierre is a skunk shifter with overactive anal glands. I know, ewww, am I right? Eli is a witch and his mate. They get together and Lucas (from book 1) tattoo’s Pierre’s butthole to correct his anal gland problem. Another ewww here. All members of the Enchanted Ink Coven mate in throuples so Pierre is anxious to find their third. He uses one of Eli’s crystals and a spell he’s found to find their third mate but ends up getting that mate killed in the process (or so we are led to believe at the end of the prequel).
Now for the book. It’s 6 years later. And Raymond, their 3rd, turns out to be a demon hunter who lost his memory of that night.
From there it devolves into one hot mess. There are so many things wrong with this book I actually contemplated not finishing it. • It’s too long. Mainly because the same scene is told over and over again via multiple main character POV. One of my biggest pet peeves. Also I hate to say it, but a lot of the sex scenes felt repetitive and too long. Like pages and pages. It felt like filler. • Storylines appear abandoned until they are suddenly mentioned. Lucas is necromancer maybe? Barely mentioned in this book. Doyle is some evil witch? Again, not mentioned until the very end and even then it feels like an afterthought. It's kinda said because the actual writing isn't that bad. • Here’s another problem that pops up with multiauthor series, lack of continuity. Nothing in this appeared to have any continuity. All their personalities, with maybe the exception of Gideon, a supporting character, were not what they were in book 1. Eli and Pierre are whiny to say the least. Raymond is the only likeable main character. And if you name a character Phoenix, but call him Nix in book 1. Please for the love of all that is holy, call him Nix in book 2 also. I was so confused as to who this random Phoenix character was in this book until I finally realized he was Nix from book 1.
I could go on and on about the problems here. I’m unsure if I’ll read the next one in the series. I pity that poor author because right now its all a mess. I might just read it depending on who the author is and to see if they can clean up this catastrophe. ...more

I decided to read this serieI wanted to like this first installment of Enchanted Ink more than I did. It had enough good points to warrant a solid 3.
I decided to read this series after reading two short prequel stories for different characters in the Fated Mates: an MM Paranormal Romance Charity Anthology They center around a tattoo shop where witches can imbue their work to provide healing properties, protections and other charms. The MCs are Luca (a witch), Ash (a squirrel shifter policeman) and Colby (a human). The witches in the Enchanted Ink Coven mate in throuples, always one witch, one shifter and one human. Luca and Ash are already an established couple of about 6 or more years who have yet to meet their third.
The Pros I liked the premise. A magical tattoo shop. That's cool. I also liked alot of the supporting characters. Gideon is one of my favs. Daniel, Colby's Down Syndrome older brother is a great character. I loved how the author didn't make him overly child like. He had great moments of insight while also being playful and endearing. The plot, when it was followed, was pretty cool too. Demons set up shop in town, opening their own tattoo shop and giving skin melting tattoos to unsuspecting humans.
The Cons It was just too gosh darned long. There were parts that I found myself skimming through. Sex scenes that were overly long. A long explanation of how pottery works (Colby is a potter). And it seems to take too long to progress through the story. Each chapter was told from the POV of one of the three main characters. And sometimes the same scene was rehashed in separate chapters by all three. Complete overkill. Also random extra things are brought up while other things were dropped. Like one of the witches is suddenly a necromancer and can bring souls back from hell and a witch everyone thought was maybe bad and was talked about a fare amount in the first half of the book, suddenly drops off in the end with barely a mention. There were also some typos, misplaced words that were annoying. Colby, was also a bit unlikable.
This has an iffy HFN cliffhanger type ending. Although the main characters appear to have solved their differences and are heading the right direction, the mystery is still ongoing. ...more

This is listed as book 4 in the series and you can see an abrupt change here right from the beginning. Nelly is no longer stand offish. He still has his doubts, but it seems he’s surer of the relationship, despite the bombshell of hurt and confusion Lucy drops on him about his wings. It seems something happened on their shared Winter vacation. Something that made them grow closer, and Nelly more confident where he stood with the Devil. Repeatedly, there are allusions made about this vacation, and you get the impression it was very important to this installment. Which it is. Very very important.
I’m going to stop here. Because I didn’t figure out what I was missing until I started reading The Devil’s Saturnalia. I whizzed through both books 4 and 5. Because they were that good. I think I got them both done in one night. Who needs sleep? Book 5, it turns out, is the end of the series. Although I hope there will be more at some point because I just started to adore these two MCs as well as all the supporting characters. Book 6 should actually be 3.5. It’s the Winter vacation that changes the tone for the rest of the books. I’m in the middle of it now and I can see just how pivotal it is to the rest of the series. I do wish the order would be changed in KU and GR to reflect this.
Anywho, back to this book. In the foreword of book 5, the author states she didn’t know where this story would lead but she did now. And book 4 does a good job of moving things forward (Nelly’s powers, the plot and subplots, Nelly/Lucy’s relationship).
It’s fun where it needs to be: “Eris was like gonorrhea, so no fun to get over, and all you wanted was a good long shower after she was gone for good.”
And achingly lovely too: “He said my name not like a simple form of address, but like a plea and a secret spell, like a casting into the future and something that had come to fruition on the bones of the past.” SWOON.
A solid 4. If not a bit higher. I marked it as having a cliffhanger, although its a soft one. So more like a HFN with a twist.

In this book there is still some dubcon, but Nelly's protests feel half hearted. He protests, but the author illustrates his internal conflict with really liking Lucy's dominance. You can see this series slanting towards BDSM.
Nelly is back at work, and now there are corpses showing up that can't be raised. It's like they are vacant shells, their souls sucked right out. It's perplexing for the necromancer. And to make his life more complicated Marc Deacon, technically his first boyfriend who took his virginity, shows up to be "trained" by Nelly.
Lucy is not happy about this. And extracts a promise (in the form of a deal) from Nelly to tell everyone Lucy is his boyfriend. Meanwhile Nelly is confused, because he's convinced Lucy can't be serious about their relationship and is waiting for the other shoe to drop, when Lucy gets annoyed with him and decides he's not worth the trouble.
This does end on a cliffhanger, but the next book is readily available. ...more

Catalina shows up and she’s absolutely pi$$ed Brad has taken her place. Brad’s trying to be nice about it, but it’s really hard to think clearly with the morning sickness and all. That’s right. Raul got Brad knocked up and now Brad and his baby daddy are rushing to get back to The Wolf’s Mate world because heaven knows this one isn’t ready for a male pregnancy and birth.
Constantine is still lurking, but does he have eyes on Brad’s brother Devon? And to what nefarious purpose? Catalina suddenly disappears…with THE BOOK! Oh no!

This 2nd installment is just as entertaining as the first. And really, it is an installment. This is written like a long serial fiction. Each book is only about 130ish pages long and they all end on cliffhangers. This one is no exception. Brad is struggling with his feelings for Raul. And Raul thinks Brad is crazy and needs a shrink. Lenore’s the only one who seems to at least give Brad the benefit of the doubt when it comes to Brad’s sucked into a book story. And the other characters, especially Mina, Raul’s youngest sister, are priceless. Mina isn’t a nice young lady. She’s a mini Brad in a pretty dress with pigtails hiding a dead rat behind her back while dripping snark all over the place. I LOVE HER. Brad is his perpetual sarcastic bro self but in this book he starts to realize he is developing feelings for Raul which makes him both excited and highly uncomfortable. He of course expresses this as only Brad can. “Raul smiles, and I loathe the butterflies it stirs up in my stomach even more than I loathe him. Time to chug an entire can of Raid.” Another thing I love is that this is all set in a kinda bad 1980’s shifter originally het romance novel. I know you’ve read at least one. You probably look back now and go “OMG the CHEESE!” It’s sooo true. And Brad makes fun of every single cheese fest moment. It’s like it’s his mission in life. LOVE this series. A solid 5. ...more

This was the funniest book I’ve read in AGES.
Brad is this big burly straight as an arrow linebacker fratboy who gets sucked into another world, Wizard of Oz style. He’s sucked into a book about fated mates and werewolves and suddenly he’s taken the place of the heroine. And all that comes with it. Including a brooding alpha werewolf and everyone trying to treat him like a petite little flower when he obviously is not. His complete horror at being the heroine and his snark makes this book 5 stars.
A few quotes as examples.
As he’s reading the book, random thoughts Brad has:
“By this point, RIP the main character’s panties.” “… as if a guy who spends that much time making sure his hair is perfectly tousled is just going to give up and leave it at that.”
And talking about his sudden interest in Raul’s (the alpha werewolf) package.
“I've never been so invested in another guy's junk unless you count that time Stupid Steve decided to see if his dick would stick to a frozen lamp post—hence how he got the nickname Stupid Steve—and I'm really not sure what to make of that, but one thing is for sure. I. Am. Invested.”
There are so many more I highlighted. This first one of the series was so good and read it in a few hours and immediately downloaded the next. Considering buying the series if this keeps ups.

The ‘plot’ (yes, I’m using air quotes there) starts with Steve, an FBI agent who is obsessed with tracking down a hired assassin who has killed two US Senators. Meanwhile his wife has had it and leaves him. He tracks this assassin down (his names escapes me at the moment…again, smut..sooo). And smut ensues. Lots of it. This all happens in about 50 pages. There’s a cliffhangerish ending.
I must admit. This was actually quite a fun quick read. I’d recommend....more
