I don’t think some of the motivations behind Ksar being a terrible person is always explained well, and Seyn still needs way more hugs, but overall I enjoyed it.

Good for fans of Johann by Grae Bryan, with the similar “adorable not-human sunshine tries to blend in with humans, stoic human falls for him immediately” storyline. Really cute. Set up a neat sequel storyline too! Couldn’t put it down all night!

The alien MC is nonbinary and uses all pronouns, including they/them and phey/phem, and you see the human MMC’s journey in addressing phem right. Really neat to see! For those sensitive about misgendering, seeing how slowly the MMC takes to get the pronouns right may be triggering, and for others the whole thing may feel affirming.
The book had a lot of backstory and exposition, especially on the science and law side, but the romance was sweet and fated-mates feeling. Really lovely!
They weren’t that much jailmates as they were conjugal visit lovers, but overall I enjoyed it. I love a good human/alien queer romance.

This kinda felt a little like copaganda, and while I know good cops are out there I definitely groaned when Brady decided to become one so he can be a better ally and protector. The relationship between queer people and the police is still not quite protected-protector these days, so this wasn’t to my taste.
Kinda wish Connor got his own book, but I’m glad he got a HEA too.

Cool premise and great main characters. Loved the twist as to why Ethan was considered “disobedient”. I wish we got even more description of what the aliens looked like, and I didn’t realize it would be so BDSM heavy. (Not a deal breaker, just sometimes not what I’m in the mood for.) Overall a great read.

I looove strong women, and this was great! Omegaverse is often too white and *too* submissive and teary about their problems, and this is neither. It seems most if not all the characters are Black/POC, and the FMC Mercy is such a boss! A woman after my own heart.
Some CW, this is part romance part drama. May drag at times, then have a bunch happen at once.

Side note, my favorite part was when the Indiana Jones-esque character got called out for essentially stealing things for museums. Very nice.

Oh I was hooked on this. A good adventure-heavy fantasy book duet that’s slower burn on the romance but so worth the wait. Good world-building and great characters. Excellent romance. First book is a cliffhanger ending but it handles the ending beautifully in the second book! I’m so glad I stumbled upon this on KU!

It’s self-described as M/M “House of The Dragon meets Captive Prince” and I’d agree to that. Definitely as dark, captivating, and possibly triggering. I enjoyed it a lot, but don’t be fooled at the “HFN” ending the summary claims. That ending has me foaming at the mouth for book two!

Side note: One thing I wasn’t thrilled about was selling smudging sage and palo santo in the MMC’s shop. Again, those are actually closed Native American practices that we gotta stop encouraging the masses to try.

This was a really good, riveting vampire/hunter romance! And it’s an underrated indie series, so definitely go give it the love and attention it deserves!
