Sometimes I have a craving for an omegaverse romance, especially one with a lot of angst and hurt/comfort, and this one delivered.
Set in a world where genetic engineering has produced Nora, The Perfect Omega — except her scent matches are horrified by what she’s been taught a perfect omega should be, and sets out to dismantle the internalised abuse and trauma. (Gah, that good hurt. What is wrong with me?!)
The story could have used tighter pacing in the second half (it felt a little long, and I even skimmed some of the heat scenes), but I still enjoyed the Olivia Benson influence
Overall this was a really enjoyable read, and I’m looking forward to the next book in the series! ...more

Poor, struggling, single mom beta FMC + the alpha MMC/omega MMC bonded pair who were unwavering in making her feel safe and wanted. Cammie and her kids were abandoned by her alpha ex when he found his omega scent match, so Reid and Finn had their work cut out for them.
This was a really comforting read. Lots of caregiving, sweet family moments, and that ...more

Mafia arranged marriage with disability rep (the FMC uses mobility aids).
Sofiya is a wounded bird type because her father treated her as defective, and Matteo suffers from “what is this feeling in my chest??” syndrome with the main symptom being taking care of Sofiya but telling himself it’s because the wife of a Don needs to have the very best. The caregiving was seriously ...more

The good: The MMC was great (so unwavering and steady! Insisted on honest communication! In it for the long haul!) and I was very invested in the FMC finding happiness after years wasted with her shitty ex. Cate C Wells’ writing often has this nervous/anxious energy that makes me uncomfortable, but it does draw me into the story.
The less good: This is purely personal preference, but some of the issues in this book were a bit *too* real for my liking. It wasn’t just the FMC getting her self-confidence back (which I liked) even if there were setbacks, but there was quite a bit about (view spoiler)[HPV2 (or herpes) (hide spoiler)]. I guess it was educational… but I’m usually reading romances for escapism.
If I was rating purely on enjoyment level this would dip to a 3.5 stars, but I’ve marked it up slightly since I was very invested in the story. ...more

Omegaverse romance. The FMC is an omega whose best friend has gone missing, and the MMCs are the 3 alpha private detectives she goes to for help.
What I liked: The story was engaging and easy to read. There was a lot of caregiving/spoiling, as the FMC had a lot of insecurities after her last relationship and the 3 MMCs were all “you’re doing US a favour by letting us take care of you.”
What I liked less: I know omegaverse sex has copious fluids, but the extent of it here had me worried about dehydration. ...more

An omegaverse reverse harem that managed to have 5 characters (2 omegas, 1 beta and 2 alphas) take turns at being the wounded bird or being fiercely protective of their loved ones?
It did mean each character felt a bit ‘everything’... but as someone who likes the hurt/comfort trope, I ate this up. ...more
