I visited Cheltenham after i read a reference in a Noel Coward's novel (Pomp& Circumstances, a very funny novel and Cheltham was like I was expecting). All this blah blah because this is a new instalment in a series that always makes me smile, turning pages, and guessing. I found some moments in this story poignant, other heartbreaking. It made me smile but there was some more sadness. I was delighted to catch up with the pleasant and well-developed characters. Julia, Sam, and Jake are as lovely as usual. There's plenty of twists in the solid mystery and I enjoyed the final twist. I cannot wait for the next novel, this one was very entertaining. Highly recommended. I love how these stories starts as a missing person cold case and becomes a puzzle formed by different aspects of a person who wasn't known to those who lived next to him. There's a lot of unhappiness, there's the facade, and there a final twists which was unexpected and surprising. There's the parallel story of the Finder reading Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde and meeting another reader, sharing some more about his life. I read it in one sitting as I wanted to know what was going to happen. It's slow burning but never let my attention wander. Can't wait to read another story Highly recommended. I had fun and enjoyed a lot of aspectsI thought it was the right book for me as I'm a cosy-anything reading moment and the blurb was full of promises. I had fun and enjoyed a lot of aspects of this book but there're two big BUT: - Bella: I spent the book hoping she was going to grow a spine and became her own woman but it didn't happen. She would be the right person for managing the bookshop, a good witch and blah-blah She spent her life moping and felling not up to do what she's already doing - The page: the beginning is promising that it gets very slow till the 50%
There's a lot of potential, there's humour, and I would to read another book featuring this magical system and Bella as a grown adult. Many thanks to the publisher for this ARC, all opinions are mine...more

A coming of age story in a dual timelime: a teen who lost everything in a fire, her eccentric aunt and uncle who are her warden and live in a house in a forest in Wales, far away from Phoebe was born. A magic place, a place where the person of the same age is Gwyneth who should not be real according to the adult. A story about a mystery that Phoebe will have to solve, her coming of age and dealing with grief. A lovely story that made me smile and moved me Highly recommended. WE know that someone is plotting a murder even if we don't know why. There's plenty of possible culprits, secrets, a place that could be a paradise but it's also full of darknes. It a drive driven investigation that goes back the facades, the lies, and the indifference. Alice disappeared, she could have been killed by a predator. Nobody has seen her since the moment she left a bag of papers to deliver. The Finder, the voice that tells the story, is the only one to go beyonds the impressions and the lies and to get to know Alice. There's parallel between Alice and Henry James' Maisie. There huge twists at the end and the description of a world of adult who simply don't know or are not able to care Loved it, poignant and gripping Highly recommended.
