After reading "Homo Sapiens," I wanted to learn more about human history. Humans control the world by telling stories and working together. Many types of humans, like Neanderthals and Denisovans, and many animals, are extinct because of humans. Humans have changed the planet a lot, both in good ways (like making technology) and bad ways (like harming the environment). The book mentions ancient people from places like Sunghir, Ohalo, Lascaux, and Stadel. We are the most dangerous animals

I read Volume 1 a few years ago. This graphic novel makes complicated history and science ideas easy to understand with vivid illustrations. There are many interesting ideas to think about. It's a great educational tool for both children and adults. The story is fun and engaging, using humour and recurring characters. It's a great read for anyone interested in history, anthropology, and how human societies developed.

After reading his book, I was inspired to see the world anew. I only discovered the astounding sensory capabilities of animals and each animal's unique sensory capabilities. Dogs are masters of smell, but note that their large ears. Owls are masters of hearing, but note their large eyes. I learned a lot from this book: 1. Bats use echolocation to navigate in the dark and find food. 2. Dogs can smell cancer cells and other diseases. 3. Elephants use infrasound to communicate with each other over long distances. 4. Birds can see ultraviolet light, which helps them to find food and navigate. 5. And many more. I gained a deeper understanding of the world and the amazing creatures sharing it with us.

I think this is a book we should read before we are getting old or sick. We must be aware that we will die one day. Being Mortal reminds us of the complications to decide on medical treatments for terminal illnesses such as cancer. This raises questions about how we can improve care for older people and those with serious illnesses. The author talks about for creating better healthcare systems that prioritize the needs and desires of patients. Remember, everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and have a say in their own healthcare decisions. I felt empathy and forlorn when reading the stories about patients and their families in this book.

The book covers many questions that people might have about death and dying in an entertaining and informative way. Some of the topics include what happens to bodies after death, the science of decomposition, and different types of funeral practices. Through the author's humorous and engaging writing style, we can also learn about death in a way that is approachable and easy to understand. The book can be especially helpful for parents or caregivers who are looking for ways to talk to children about death and dying in a way that is not overly scary or intimidating. I suggest everyone read this book so that we can learn a lot about death, dying, and the funeral industry.

I kept this book on my TBR list for so long, it's time to read it! I'm curious to learn how genes influence us. Richard Dawkins argues that genes prioritize their replication, with organisms acting as vehicles for this process. This focus on gene replication, according to Dawkins, can lead to significant evolutionary changes over time. Could humans one day evolve to look like the E.T. from the 1982 film? I don't know.

Goodreads Choice Award Winner for Best Nonfiction (2022) I gave 3.5 stars for this book tends to repeat certain phrases and ideas throughout the book, which can become tiresome for me. This book explores the meaning of human connection and the language we use to describe our experiences of it. The author, Brené Brown, draws on her extensive research in social science and psychology to map out the different ways that people connect. Overall, I find that this book is not particularly actionable, as it focuses more on describing concepts than on providing concrete solutions.

The book is about aging and how to slow down or even reverse the effects of aging. Dr. Sinclair argues that aging is not an inevitable part of life and that there are things we can do to increase the number of years we can live in good health and quality life. He examines the science behind aging, including the role of DNA damage, epigenetics, and metabolism. One of the main strategies he recommends for extending health span is caloric restriction or intermittent fasting. He also discusses the potential benefits of certain supplements, such as NAD+ boosters, resveratrol, and metformin. Dr. Sinclair emphasizes the importance of exercise and maintaining a healthy diet for extending the health span. According to him, he doesn't give medical advice and endorse supplements or other products. Overall, "Lifespan" is a book that presents a compelling argument for the possibility of extending the human lifespan and improving health in old age through scientific research and lifestyle changes. I may follow his advice to improve my life.

I bought this book before Covid-19 and kept it in my book cabinet. Sometimes, I would take it out and look at the photos. Before I decided to read this book, I listened to some podcasts and watched many documentaries on YouTube related to Leonardo da Vinci. Leonardo da Vinci was a super smart and creative person who lived long ago. He could paint amazing pictures but was also good at science and inventing things. He was curious about everything and wasn't afraid to fail, so he's still remembered today. He was like a master of everything! If you are out of curiosity, try discovering it by reading the book yourself!
