This is the ultimate marriage of convenience book with a good side of very forced proximity. These two idiots passed from annoying acquaintances to husbands/roommates that resented each other to lovers.
We have a somewhat realistic 3rd act break up with a nice conversation about consent and a somehow rushed reconciliation but I’m not even mad about it.
I just wished we had an epilogue to see what Casey decided to do about the 20 years....more

I really don't know how or even if I should review this book.
Like honestly, what was this guy thinking? This book was published in 1898. What was society like regarding outer space? There seems to be an awful lot of information or fear about an alien invasion or more specifically "a Martian invasion".
I can't even imagine people wearing almost Bridgerton-style clothes just promenading during Victorian England while also going to balls and discussing this book and how likely it was that Martians invaded the planet and then were killed by Bacteria!!!!
So yeah, overall it was good even if Tom Cruise sort of ruined it for me....more

This book was good but it could also have been better? it’s moderately angsty and low in steam but it has its good parts, I was not expecting much of it since the only reason I read it was because I wanted to read the 2nd book in the series after I saw it recommended on Reddit lol, still I enjoyed it and I even ended up forgiving Mike....more

They never redeemed themselves they just continue to act like dicks the whole time and in the end we get a lame apology and that's it? all good? Bitch no, just because they are your family you shouldn't take shit from them.
Regardless, this book was ok, Dell was fun to read but Donny was all over the place with his denial firmly in place until almost 80% and that gets tiring.
Ok so yes I will admit this one is better than the previous one, mostly because Tully lowers his creepiness to an adequate level. So I'll give it 4 stars for now but I might lower my rating later, I've definitely enjoyed other NR Walker books more.
But I do have to say that there is no actual plot in this book, like seriously, nothing plot-wise happens. What is even going to happen or not happen I guess in the third book?
This book centers around a cyclone and that is very dramatic on its own because yes they are natural disasters but I mean, personally, I've lived through a couple of Hurricanes as we like to call cyclones in this part of the world, and yes they are destructive and that's sad and all but not plot material.
It just rains a lot and there's a lot of wind but there is no storm chasing so how are they still the storm boys?

Alex is very set in his own ways and he knows that, in fact, he is very proud of that, and Daniel is very much not, he is more of a free soul but somehow they make it work beautifully, they are one of those couples that complement each other.
This is friends to lovers but oh boy! It takes a while for them to realize that they have practically been dating since forever and when they do it's amazing to see them decide to be happy together.
It's low angst, swoony, and has a beautiful HEA as all Cat Sebastian's books....more

It also features a surprisingly not homophobic but very intense dad and a great group of guys who’ll probably get their own book.
The book is by no means perfect and it has some tiny continuity errors that I can just ignore. I’m keen to read the rest of the books in the series even if I for his book my mistake because it had the same name of another book that I was actually looking for if I’m being honest....more

After all, I’m pretty sure I decided to read Depth of Field because I originally wanted to read this one and it was just meh.
Like honestly practically nothing happens and that’s not always an issue because I can totally like a book that is just vibes and no plot but in this case, it was just boring.
There’s a lot and I mean A LOT of Ryan mentioning his ex-wife and I don’t get why, also the dialogues were super corny and weird, these dudes said in so many different ways how they were the same and two sides of the same coin and two parts of a soul so many times that I just couldn’t believe it....more

And yes, I get he has his sad backstory with Nathaniel, but did he have to appear so unlikeable? Talking about Noah, I don't think I'm alone in saying that his friends were complete dicks to him about this fallout with Aron, like is not his fault if the dude wanted more than what they had previously agreed.
As for Matt, I don't have much to say about him, I mostly feel bad for his situation and if I had been him I would have been even more of an asshole to everyone....more

Peter already had a partial list. Filed under "things that please Caleb Murphy" were sandwiches, extra fries, cheap beer, and newspapers. Files under "things that drive Caleb Murphy into a snit" was virtually everything else, as far as Peter could tell.
Peter has a not-perfect family dynamic and is dreading spending time with them so he jumps and takes the first opportunity (excuse) available to postpone it and decides to drive Caleb across the country *because why not*. Caleb on the other side comes from a very different background than Peter and refuses to be seen as a charity case, and considering The Cabots are a very rich family there is some resentment going on.
Obviously, Peter is so good and lovely and nice that after two days Caleb realizes that he cannot resist him and instead of not liking him he recognizes that he in fact likes him a lot.
“You know, you’ve totally lost the ability to insult me and sound like you mean it,” Peter observed cheerfully. “It all comes out like sweet nothings.”
I loved this book and it's not surprising after all it's from Cat Sebastian but also because there is no miscommunication or relationship angst, both boys are very clear about what they want and after a bit of negotiation, they go for it and get their HEA.
So I'm just gonna be here quietly crying because Peter and Caleb are wholesome and this book was beautiful and I can't wait to read the next one....more
