He’s this random af character that is introduced without really being introduced. This book opens and the story picks up a month after book 2 ends and we learn MK went to Aspen and met Scott so now he’s a part of our storyline. He continued to be an annoying af character with no development and I just hated him haha.
I did like that we got some new information on MKs stalker/attempted killer and feel like we’re finally making some progression on this plot line. ...more

Whew, these books are the smutty books for me! Hahahaha. This will for sure be a guilty pleasure read and I go through them quickly. I love the slow burn and build of this RH. Book one we get with 1 of the guys, and this one another. I feel like this slow relationship building is very believable and I live for the sexual tension of the entire group. While I love the romance plot, the action plot leaves a lot to be wanted. We barely get crumbs of information between book 1 and book 2 regarding who is trying to kill the main character, who is stalking her, why any of this is going on, what the guys are keeping from her, etc. It's a slooooowwww slog for the details of anything outside of the bedroom to be delivered to the reader and that is super frustrating and annoying, otherwise, I'd give this more stars haha. That said, super steamy and fun read. I have plans to keep reading :) ...more

A summer boarding school program in Taipei before starting college sounds like a dream! I loved this story and each of the characters. It was fun seeing them all come into their own selves and chase after their own dreams instead of that of their families. I predicted a few things, but was pleasantly surprised at others. This does have a love triangle in it, so if that isn’t your jam here’s your warning. I’ll be looking forward reading the next in the series.
The audiobook narration was done very well and I loved listening! I’ll be reading the sequels in the same format ...more

It was apparent this was self-published and edited with the amount of grammar and technical writing errors throughout. Sentences that lacked logic, misplaced punctuation, and lack of quotation marks for the main character's outer dialogue all were issues that pulled me out of the story. The characters, premise, and setting were all interesting but the execution fell short. The big reveal at the end was summed up in just a few pages & left me going whaaaat. There needed to be more explanation around the ending in my opinion. ...more

Less smut than I expected, but the sexual tension and build up was perfection. It wasn’t very dark to me: some gang references, a little violence, and mentions of a murder and stalker. But I can see how things will get both spicier and darker as the story line continues. My biggest issue was the mega cliffhanger and how almost nothing came to a solid conclusion in this book & thus forces the reader to book 2 for any satisfactory ending on current plot threads. I loved the main characters and each dynamic that the 3 main guys bring to the table. MK is sassy and fun - though I suspect she has poor taste in friends lol. A fun indulgent romance! I loved so much of it: the altering POVs, Nori & Akira's sibling dynamic, the writing style, and the depth of the characters. However I was disappointed with the ending: Nori's ultimate choice with her Yuka and how the final love interest of hers wrapped up. I didn't understand it fully nor agree with what she chose. I would have also loved to see more side characters threaded through the novel such as some of the brothel characters. I also felt like the mother arc was unresolved, we got the history but didn't really understand why she never resurfaced. I feel like the crime family element wasn't explored enough on the page and would have enjoyed a deeper insight into that whole world. This was a fun read and an author I would absolutely read again, but these issues make it hard for me to rate the book any higher....more

The pacI really enjoyed this book, but can understand the issues other's have with it and can see why it lands with some readers but not with others. The pacing is a little slow to start, but I loved the creepy atmospheric setting that is established from the opening pages. This was a witchy horror story that explores themes such as religious cults, misogyny, feminism, and racism. Having the MC menstration be the inciting incident for the plagues was well done and I'm always a sucker for authors who aren't scared to take the story there. For fans of The Grace Year, The Handmaidens Tale, or the Crucible - I think you'd enjoy this one.
This is a part of a series (book 2 coming 2023), but the story does not end on a cliff hanger.

My favorites were Senior Year Sucks, The Guidebook for the Newly Sired Desi Vampire, Bestiary, & First Kill.
This book aimed to put diverse main characters at the heart of the vampire stories and it absolutely succeeded! There was Queer rep in almost all of them, disability rep, and more. I’ll be buying a copy of this for my shelves and recommend it to friends. ...more

It’s hard to feel bad for someone who is “going broke” while she stays in a beach house her father secretly had and never told her about. Lol. It was privilege wrapped in a poor me my dad cheated on my mom and I’m gonna have a moment. Maybe I’m jaded because I was forced to grow up really quick, but her age paired with her problems for me were a bit ridiculous. I also had issues with her “best friend” who continuously blew her off until way towards the end of the book. She honestly felt like a pointless side character. Gus was a more realistic character in my mind and I liked him a lot more. Their banter was definitely adorable and I didn’t hate all of the story ...more

I think that element made the reading experience more immersive and I felt I could hear the speaker. Betty’s story broke my heart, Mr Chetan stole my heart, and Solo had me raging way too often. These characters each has humanistic flaws which made them tangible and real. I loved the way their love lives tumbled and flowed and changed. The message of Love After Love could be interpreted in many ways and I think this story will hit each reader in an unique way.
