I am still processing this book and I can't believe its a debut novel , it was so cleverly written and so well executed that you would have thought Jessie Garcia has been writing for years and I seriously can not wait to get my hands on another one of her books!!
Without giving too much away this story is told from MANY POV's and lets just say many "unexpected" moments that had me hollering OMGEEE!!
Two complete opposites are on a plane to San Diego both with different motives. Stephanie is on a business trip to a work conference and Jasmine is running from her past to start a new life .
When Stephanie doesn't return to work Monday , the office starts asking questions and Stephanie's phone is blowing up with text messages and she just wants some peace and time with Trent a new guy she has met .
Jasmine's phone is also blowing up with text messages from her Narcissistic and abusive boyfriend Glenn , and she is determined to never return or see him again and put the past behind her.
Someone on the other hand as an alternative motive and if their not careful with their scheming ... is someone going to end up dead ??!!

The Last Party is a cleverly well written addictive psychological thriller .
I loved how Torre patiently planted little breadcrumbs through out the story for us to munch on to keeping you satisfied every turning page.

Without giving too much away The Last Party, is edgy , dark, suspenseful , gripping , dark humor, and shocking! It's everything you want and expect in a thriller novel!
Set with multiple POV's we follow the life of Perla Wultz and her family Grant and brilliant daughter Sophie . While Grant rarely talks of his past of his sisters death many years ago, Perla also does not disclose much of her past before her adoption.
When we are not reading about the Wultz family we are following Leewood Folcrum Inmate 82145 and Leewood doesn't have much to say about what happened to those 3 teenage girls 23 years ago , but it was a blood massacre and didn't end well for many.
If you love unhinged psychopathic characters , crazy plot twists and fast paced thrillers then is is a book for you and I promise you , you will be gasping multiple times . This unputdownable book will be in my top 10 for 2024 , at one point my husband said to me " that book must be really good you haven't moved a muscle in 2 hours "!!

A Very Bad Thing is an explosive mystery, that eludes the reader to keep following the bread crumbs laid before you .With multiple red herrings, lots of secrets and so many twists & turns it will keep your head spinning !
With out giving too much away as you need to read this little gem for your self. A Very Bad Thing is a captivating psychological thriller that keeps you guessing to the very end, although there is the off little exaggerated scenarios it totally works for this story.
Told from multiple POV's we start off meeting Columbia Jones a world renowned author who is on a book tour . As she is presenting a speech to her fans on stage, when a gentleman in the audience stands and gives Columbia the death stare and she faints in front of everyone. After being treated in the hospital Columbia resides back at their hotel with her daughter Darian. The next morning when Riley a hired journalist goes to meet Columbia for their final interview she is met with a cold stare and a LOT of blood!! Has Columbia been murdered or did she take her own life ??
Through out the story with the persuasive writing style and great pacing we are introduced to a novel called The Legacy which we are shared bits and pieces of here and there which only heightens adds to the mystery in this intense gripping novel and leaves you questing everything and every character . Do you really know anyone ?? So may lies !

This was my first read by J.T. Ellison and she just gained a new fan, I truly loved her writing style and appreciate a mystery that keeps me guessing and is full of surprises!
I really think fans of Verity , Yellowface and The Housemaid will devour this mystery very quickly !!

This is a slow burn thriller that packs a lot of punch in the last 100 pages with multiple riveting scenes throughout the story to keep you burning for more.
Cass has been dumped and kicked out of her "posh" lifestyle with her boyfriend Reid who has left her for another younger woman leaving Cass with nothing and no career to fall to ,as she loved a little too much playing the perfect house wife . Now she finds her self covered in dirty overalls fixing tenants dirty clogged sinks and repairing AC units in a Motel, she is desperate and willing to do what she can to get ahead .
We meet Anna very quickly who received a phone call from her husband Henry who calls her frantically apologizing for what he's done and how much he loves her , and then the line goes dead...and so does Henry !!
Anna can't stand being in their home so she packs up and moves into the room he was renting at the Motel Sycamore he was using as a studio for his art work. What transpires next is a bunch of shocking revelations that keeps the reader yearning for more to try and solve this crazy mystery and trust me it does get wild!!
Without giving too much away I think the author did a great job of intertwining multiple characters that live in the motel that are just scrapping by in life and how sometimes you don't need much in life to make connections and find where you belong .
The only thing that I was not a fan of was the ending , as I found it a bit tacky and was expecting something a little more liberating , but otherwise it was a fun quick read !

This is where I suggest you wear your seatbelt and buckle up because this is where things get wild and intense! Noelle is abducted by a father and son living in the woods off the grid and what transpires next is a lot of gasping while your anxiety is put through a test and will blow the roof off your house!
A few times I rolled my eyes during these short chapters catching myself saying yah right , but shame on me as , it wasn't until I was finished the book that I learned that the story was inspired by real events that took place back in 1984 when Biathlete Kari Swenson was abducted . While the author stresses that the story is inspired by Kari's resilience and tenacity it is complete fiction , but the book sent chills up and down my spine multiple times just imagining for a minute how terrifying it would have been!!
You need to read this book for yourself to see what happens !!

The entire time I was reading I kept waiting for something to grab me and whisk me away, I felt unsettled the entire time I read We Used to Live Here. I truly felt as if I was casting my eyes on a movie every breathing moment of this read . Marcus Kliewer just gained a new fan, phenomenal thriller !
"Ch- Charlie ?" Eve's voice trembled. Now ,every fiber of her being screamed: RUN. Yet she continued creeping forward, one foot after the other, until she swung the door wide open. This story is not for one who is easily frightened. This is a fast paced horror thriller and I read it in one sitting !

Do you ever get that gut feeling something isn't right , like your spidey senses are on overdrive ? Well Eve had that , she knew deep down something was off , but yet she felt compelled to let them in , " ok just for 15 minutes " ...it is quite clear that she should have listened to that inside voice !
You will question everything you know about this town and this house located at 3709 Heritage Lane , what is really going on up there , is it Insanity , Vengeance or Paranormal ???
I really think fans of Home Before Dark, A History of Wild Places , Rock , Paper , Scissors and The Other People will welcome and devour every moment of this book !!

If you like mystery , murder , very unlikeable characters , hen party's , drama , did I mention murder ?? oh and vaginal beads then this is a story for you!!
This story starts of with Tansy's bridal party where there is no cell service, no drinking and nobody wants to follow the rules ... and the night ends with blood on their hands ,the bride to be Tansy is dead !!!
Based between two timelines the story jumps between present and past . We find these woman who call themselves bestfriends Tansy , Dominque , Farah , Lauren and Saskia are all a bunch of hot mess's that can't seem to tell the truth and ALL have dirty little secrets .
AS the story goes on there is talk of penis straws, vaginal beads , F-bombs and lots of deaths , with a long cat and mouse chase leaving the reader to solve the mystery behind all these deaths ....more
