It is a huge, huge shame this book suffers from poor editing. This book has so many important things to say, but the editing choices can make it hard to persevere through a particular section of the story.
Other reviews share similar sentiments as I do, so I'm just echoing them. This book was split into a past and present portions. The parts in the past were brilliant and where the author's talents truly shone.
The parts in the present were the complete opposite. They were often times confusing and contained a crowded cast of unmemorable characters. The dialogue was continuous and choppy, and didn't flow like an actual conversation would.
One or two more rounds of edits is what Crystal Smith Paul and this book deserves....more
