The 7 Secret Treasuares is the first of eight books where Dr Demartini shares the finest action-oriented philosophy in each of the seven areas of life. Think of The 7 Secret Treasures as the overview of all seven areas.
In The 7 Secret Treasures, he starts with genius, then works his way through business, vitality, intimacy, wealth building, concluding with your calling.
I've been a student of Demartini's for over 15 years, through his books, his audio and video programs, and his online and in-person seminars. Every dollar I've invested into further training with Demartini has been repaid several times over. I know most of his stories. And I can tell you that the bulk of this book is content you'll find for the first time here.
This book is the ideal starting point for someone new to Dr Demartini's work and it's an absolute must-read for longtime Demartini students....more

The core idea is this: No matter the heights we've achieved to date, our best contribution is always ahead of us. It's the same if we've wasted our lives up to this point. At any age or stage of life, we can start fresh.
In 2009, I conducted the last Australian interview with Dr. Covey. I titled my article "Live Life in Crescendo" and I'm thrilled this book has made it in print. I started my journey with The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People when I was 17. I'm 47 now and I've finally accepted I'm ageing. The Coveys filled the book with principles and ideas for how you can keep contributing.
There's a quote in the book about how you should plan how you will live at 65 when you're in your teens. You don't need to be in your 40s or older to benefit from this book.

I was 14, and it came about through someone inviting me on the street. Over the next 11 days, I studied the Bible and watched a church live out the nine principles Coleman teaches in this book. Or at least, that's what I thought. The church was attracting and baptising large numbers of people and, through its discipling relationships, teaching them to obey Jesus. But on reading Coleman for a second time, it's not enough to attract, baptise, and teach; the missing part of the process is that church must also turn its converts into leaders. This fresh insight is what I want to bring into my life as I continue my journey as a Christian....more
As in all his books, Brian Tracy builds your skills. In August, I read Brian Tracy's second-most recent book, The Phoenix Transformation: 12 Qualities of High Achievers to Reboot Your Career and Life. Unlike most of his work, it was a little sloppy, repeating itself even within the same chapter. Or switching from being about personal success to sales success without warning or transition. But The 10 Qualities of Influential People is clear, insightful, easy-to-understand and you'll leave with a plan for what you can do today to increase your influence in your personal and professional lives. Tracy does something which Stephen R. Covey never successfully did: He shows the link between being and seeming, explaining why they're both important and how to succeed at both....more
All of that is a long introduction to say that Discipline is Destiny is Holiday in top form. Already as a result of reading this book, I've created a list of "Personal Operating Principles" which spell out what self-control looks like for me. I've ceased working two hours before bed. I'm speaking less (a challenge because my communication style is that of a storyteller). But I'm also being kinder at those times when I fail.
This book is one of Holiday's best. If you haven't read him before, it's a great place to start. If you have read him before, why haven't you ordered your copy of this already?...more

The ideas in this book are sound, based on principles: Universal, unchanging, self-evident laws that govern human behaviour. Dr Stephen R. Covey popularised the modern discussion of principles in The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People: Powerful Lessons in Personal Change. Here, Sinek acknowledges his debt to Covey and applies principles specifically to business. Sinek supplements, rather than detracts, from Covey's work....more

Dr Stephen R. Covey claimed that How to Win Friends and Influence People was the turning point from the character ethic to the personality ethic, from valuing substance to worshipping style.
I respectfully disagree with Covey.
Carnegie emphasises the importance of character: These techniques simply won't work if you're insincere. At other times, Carnegie offers multiple techniques to apply Covey's Habit 5: Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood. And in his section on leadership, Carnegie teaches techniques to do what Covey calls re-scripting.

Second, I fell in love with Chuck Swindoll as my favourite Christian author. He takes biblical leadership and teaches you what to focus on and how to lead. Out of all his books, this one has blessed my life the most and I'm pleased that it stands the test of time when I reread it for the first time in 32 years. I don't plan to leave it so long before I read it again.
If you're not a Christian, you won't get as much benefit from this book as you would if you were. But you will still gain principles and methods for being a better leader. I recommend it to anyone who wants to lead or is already leading....more
