When Josh discovers that his grilfriend's roommate - Ari - is occasionally sometimes a "friend with benefit"- when he comes over to make her dinner he immediately dislikes her. They bicker and fight the entire time Josh is making dinner.
Then starts their unfortunate run-ins with one another every few years. And their run ins eventually become a tentative friendship after both Josh and Ari are coming out of serious relationships. Ari is going through a divorce after her wife dumped her for someone else and Josh feels lost without someone to call his own.
There are so many things I loved about this book. The way Kate Goldbeck can make me laugh while also making my heart race in sweet/sexy/spicy scene. The way I connected with both characters and their group of friends. The fact that I felt the hurt, anger and loneliness in both Ari and Josh and yet I was SCREAMING for them to get together!
I have literal paragraphs highlighted because they resonated with me so profoundly. Obviously I can't put into words how much I loved this book.
If there's one book you need to add to your fall tbr, please let it be this one! I can't wait to read whatever Kate Goldbeck writes next.

I didn't read the Caraval series going into Once Upon a Broken Heart, so I was a bit lost in the beginning of the book. And A LOT of stuff happens in this book. I was not expecting so many twists and turns and yet I couldn't stop reading.
I won't say much more as I don't want to spoil this book. Once I started reading OPABH I couldn't stop reading it. Even though at times it read as a cross between Alice in Wonderland and a Tim Burton film. Stephanie Garber's writing is so vivid and I could literally see the scenes painted in front of me.

That right about there sums up this historical fantasy romance. I loved this book so much and I'm not quite sure how to put it into words. I have been seeing Divine Rivals all over my social media feeds and I'm not quite sure why I didn't pick it up sooner. The magical, mythical, epistolary elements all combined together made this a read that I didn't want to put down.
The writing by Rebecca Ross was truly beautiful. I have so many passages highlighted that I want to go back and read. She doesn't shy away from tough topics and at the same time I was often feeling giddy over conversations that Iris and Roman were having. I was so immersed in the book that I felt like I was right there with Iris and Roman.
And that ending(!!!!) - I can't wait for the next book in the series to be released!...more

The conclusion to The Folk of the Air series was everything I wanted it to be. There was angst, longing, suspense and drama that unfolded perfectly. I loved how much growth both Jude and Cardan had throughout this series. And their love for one another was so beautiful. I had tears in my eyes on more than one occasion.
I only wish that my hard copy had Cardan's letter to Jude!! Why must I always be late to the special edition copies of books I loved?!?!

I read The Cruel Prince for the first time in March. Since then I have also re-read as an audiobook (highly recommend) and now again as a reread fully from beginning to end. I honestly cannot recommend this book and this series enough. Reading The Cruel Prince again I could see certain scenes through Cardan's point of view and it made me love him even more if that's possible. And Jude...ahh Jude - one of my most favorite female main characters. She is so complex and her relationship with each and every person in this book gave me so many feelings.
If you're looking for a fast paced fantasy romance with political intrigue, deceit, romance and messed up family dynamics I highly highly recommend The Cruel Prince. Looking forward to my re-read of The Wicked King.

If an author can write angst/swoon/pining - I'm a goner and Tahereh Mafi does such a good job of that. We get so many emotions from ALL the characters - Adam, Juliette, Warner...gah. And to think I said I didn't really like love triangles/messy relationships - hah!
Anyway I'm obsessed with this series and all of the characters in it.

One of my favorite parts of this book was Oraya's relationship with her father Vincent. They didn't always have an easy relationship, but Vincent's love for Oraya is present throughout the entire book if you're looking close enough.
This book made me laugh, had my heart racing during the competition and also shedding so many tears into my pillow. If you're looking for a book that you won't be able to put down once you pick it up - grab The Serpent and the Wings of Night....more

Naomi finds herself in the small town of Knockemout, Virginia. As soon as she arrives she's getting dirty looks and a wide berth - Naomi doesn't have to think to hard on why. Turns out she also messed with Naomi when she stole her car, her cash and left her a present in the form of an 11 year old nice - Waylay - that Naomi had no idea even existed!
Naomi also has the misfortune of running into Knockemout's bad boy Knox. Knox may look like a Viking God, but he's rude, obnoxious and wants Naomi out of Knockemout ASAP. She's the kind of trouble that he doesn't like in his small town.
I have to start off this review by saying I'm not a huge fan of small town romances or romances that deal with single parents. Having said that, oh how I loved every single character in Knockemout and the relationship that Waylay has with Knox and Naomi. THIS is how small town, single parent romances should be written!

Gah, how I loved The Devil You Know. After getting glimpses of Ben in the previous books in this series I was so excited to finally get his story. But I have to be honest - I totally fell in love with Gemma. Gemma who's prickly on the outside, but soft and gooey on the inside. Gemma who has been burned so many times before that she doesn't know who to trust and definitely not sure if she can trust the one person she wants to trust the most - Ben.
These two had so much chemistry together and I loved every single moment they had together. The banter was exceptional and there was SO MUCH ANGST. The angst had butterflies in my stomach and tears streaming down my face. I've already read and re-read my favorite parts.
I highly recommend this entire series and this book was exceptional. If you're looking for a forced proximity, workplace enemies to lovers romance I highly recommend The Devil You Know.
