That right about there sums up this historical fantasy romance. I loved this book so much and I'm not quite sure how to put it into words. I have been seeing Divine Rivals all over my social media feeds and I'm not quite sure why I didn't pick it up sooner. The magical, mythical, epistolary elements all combined together made this a read that I didn't want to put down.
The writing by Rebecca Ross was truly beautiful. I have so many passages highlighted that I want to go back and read. She doesn't shy away from tough topics and at the same time I was often feeling giddy over conversations that Iris and Roman were having. I was so immersed in the book that I felt like I was right there with Iris and Roman.
And that ending(!!!!) - I can't wait for the next book in the series to be released!...more

The conclusion to The Folk of the Air series was everything I wanted it to be. There was angst, longing, suspense and drama that unfolded perfectly. I loved how much growth both Jude and Cardan had throughout this series. And their love for one another was so beautiful. I had tears in my eyes on more than one occasion.
I only wish that my hard copy had Cardan's letter to Jude!! Why must I always be late to the special edition copies of books I loved?!?!
I already can't wait to read Oak's duology in The Stolen Heir....more

I read The Cruel Prince for the first time in March. Since then I have also re-read as an audiobook (highly recommend) and now again as a reread fully from beginning to end. I honestly cannot recommend this book and this series enough. Reading The Cruel Prince again I could see certain scenes through Cardan's point of view and it made me love him even more if that's possible. And Jude...ahh Jude - one of my most favorite female main characters. She is so complex and her relationship with each and every person in this book gave me so many feelings.
If you're looking for a fast paced fantasy romance with political intrigue, deceit, romance and messed up family dynamics I highly highly recommend The Cruel Prince. Looking forward to my re-read of The Wicked King.

If an author can write angst/swoon/pining - I'm a goner and Tahereh Mafi does such a good job of that. We get so many emotions from ALL the characters - Adam, Juliette, Warner...gah. And to think I said I didn't really like love triangles/messy relationships - hah!
Anyway I'm obsessed with this series and all of the characters in it.

I loved the character growth of most all of the characters, but especially Juliette and Warner. Gah W A R N E R...now I understand why all the booktok girlies are obsessed with him. I mean so am I!

Gah, how I loooooved this book! Raihn and Oraya together were perfect! I loved their banter, their chemistry and how these two ended up caring so much for one another. The Serpent and the Wings of Night is a slooooooooooow, but Carissa Broadbent knows how to bring the heat!
One of my favorite parts of this book was Oraya's relationship with her father Vincent. They didn't always have an easy relationship, but Vincent's love for Oraya is present throughout the entire book if you're looking close enough.
This book made me laugh, had my heart racing during the competition and also shedding so many tears into my pillow. If you're looking for a book that you won't be able to put down once you pick it up - grab The Serpent and the Wings of Night....more
