For the first half of this book I absolutely loved it. I really identified with Ada, and cared passionately about what happened to her. I lost my connection to her when the narrative skipped forward to the older Ada, and then went into her father's life. I think the writing was brilliant, but this way of narrating didn't work for me. (To be fair I very rarely like these huge jumps in narrative, in time, and from person to person). The ending was fabulous though. If I'd based my rating on the first half and the ending I'd have given it five stars....more
