It was so fun to read and since it's a Brandon book, the world-building is superb. I love the idea of sailing on pores (flower pores) instead of the sea, and the pores are green.
I love all the characters especially Tress the protagonist, even though some of her characteristics are similar to that of other fairytale characters, she still has some uniqueness. I also like the characters like Ford, Hoid the Cabinboy, and Charlie.
Since this is a fairytale, of course, it has a happy ending which wasn't cliche. I can't wait to read The Sunlit Man and the rest of the books in the secret project....more

This book is an engaging book about an envoy sent to a planet called Winter. On this planet no one has a gender, the book was written in the 60s so I was curious to see how the author will explore that.
Very little was explained about how the bodies of the Winter’s inhabitants work and none of them have a point of view. The book was written solely from the POV of the human envoy and it focused too much on the politics and the ecosystem.
All in all, it was a good book. I'm glad I read it....more

I was shocked and glad that I enjoyed this. This book wasn't what I imagined it would be but I love how it turned out apart from a few things
I wish Achilles has a point of view, the whole book was written from the point of view of Patroclus.
The writing style was above average, I love the narration and how the author depicted the world. I expected more from the fight scenes given that this is a retelling of Achilles’ life but I didn't get that.
All in all, it was a good book and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a good fantasy retelling. ...more

I love the dual POVs that let's the reader knows what the main characters are up to, Also th idea that both characters ha dark background instead of the usual bad guy and good girl, here the book are book fucked up.
The story is about a seventeen years old junkie Dylan,who is a homeless girl who attempted prostitution that led her into meeting Ripley a serial killer,mercenary,infiltrator etc who is also a sadist,who she happens to know a bit cause she has seen him multiple times and has being fantasizing about him.He was suppose to killed and disembowel the man she wanted to sleep with and let her go even after she saw.
And the idiot girl decided to rob him cause of desperation, she tracked him down to where he lives since she already knows his routine, things did not go well when he came back early and caught her, she knows there's no way he'll let her go this time.

So all I'm going to say is that this is another good book, not the best in the series though. There was a long awaited reunion and lots of dun action parts.

What is great about this series is that no two books follow the same pattern apart from the falling in love part.
Rosalind hates the Blue Bloods passionately, but when she can’t find her brother after months of searching, she decides to infiltrate the Nighthawks.
Lynch knows Mercury or the humanist had something to do with the bomb in book two, and he is determined to find the leader. Unbeknownst to him, the leader is the same as his secretary Rosa to whom he is attracted.

I expected more from Garret and Perry’s book given that they’ve known each other for ten years. Instead of a good romance book that I expected, this became a suspense and thriller book.
I know the job of the Nighthawks is to investigate crimes and catch the perpetrator but it took almost the whole book.
There was just way too many things happening in this book that they didn't have time for each other.
So, it wasn't a bad book, but it was not what I wanted in a paranormal romance.
I finally got to know Perry's history and how she ended up in the Nighthawks and it's way scarier than I would have thought.
This book explored more about the Echelon politics and how almost everyone dislikes the Prince Consort.
The events in this Vol picked up where the previous volume ended. The plot is finally coming together.

The chapters in this Vol are one of the saddest I've ever read. Just when I thought the characters would get relief, things got worse for them.
There were some new characters here that I liked, and I really like Mustang, Armstrong, and the other alchemist. I can’t wait to see more of them.
The Elric brothers are as cool as ever; there were more revelations about them; I can’t wait to read more.
There were many revelations in this, and I now know who the main villains are, though I don’t know their endgame yet. I hope our protagonists discover that soon....more

I usually watch an anime before reading the manga, which is a bit weird and backward. I decided to do it the right way this time by reading the manga first, and I'm glad I did.
Fullmetal Alchemist is a very popular and hyped anime; I've heard nothing but good things about it.
The writing style is straightforward and quite humourous; I wasn't expecting the humour. I love the art and the setting; the book is set in the 1800s, they are trains and guns, so it's a steampunk manga.
The manga follows two brothers, Edward and Alphonso Elric, both alchemists. They both work for the government to bring down criminals and other alchemists who break the alchemical laws.
When they were younger, they dabbled in alchemical powers more potent than them, which cost Edward an arm and a leg (literally), and Alphonso lost his body; he is now just a soul stuck in armour.
Though they currently work for the government, they also look for the philosopher's stone to use and regain their bodies.
Edward looks like a child, but I think he's a teenager. He is highly cynical but kind. He looks harsh and rude, but I think he's a softie.
Alphonso is just a walking armour, but people think it's a grown man in armour. He is kind and optimistic despite what he has gone through.
I’m looking forward to the vol. 2. I need to know who they were trying to resurrect and how old they were when they did it....more
