This second installment wasn't as interesting as the first. In Ghost Aria, Christy spends a lot of time worrying about her job. She's out to prove something to herself and to her father. She's not just some spoiled, rich girl who lives off of daddy's money and influence, but she is frightened by what happened at the theater. However, she does stay late again, but instead of sneaking up on her, the opera ghost takes her back to his lair.
I was hoping this would be the part where he reveals why he's so interested in her, but instead he just tells Christy that he wants to seduce her. Well, okay? In the original, Christine and the Phantom had years together before he finally came to her, in Ghost Aria, it's been a couple of days. I need a reason not just instalove induced stalking and kidnapping! But it is a good set up for things to come.

Phantom Serenade is...oh my goodness. It has crossed over into the BDSM territory that I was waiting for! It's nothing too extreme (yet), but it was definitely sexy! This third installment is also where everyone appears suspicious. There's something off about just about all of the main characters, so it's not clear who the murderer is. Roman is the most suspicious of all though, and I cannot stand him! Not in a bad way, he's great to read about, but he is such a stuck up and subtly demanding person! He practically drives Christy into the Master's arms! Which I'm certainly thankful he did! I need more of Christy and Master in his secret lair!

Even though Entwined is only a novella about a minor character, it is absolutely my favorite of the series so far!I received an ARC through NetGalley.
Even though Entwined is only a novella about a minor character, it is absolutely my favorite of the series so far! The only reason I knocked off half of a star was because there was one plot point that made me roll my eyes, because it didn't really need to be there. Other than that, this short story is fabulous! The best part is, anyone can read it and love it, too! You absolutely do not need to read the rest of the series to understand the events in Entwined, but you should anyway because they're good. This story tells the tale of Eamon Evernight and his eventual wife, Lu, and the bizarre events that brought them together. Lu was actually engaged to Aidan, Eamon's older brother, although they had never met. Their only interactions were through letters, but ones that Eamon wrote as Aidan had no interest in marrying her. Of course, Eamon and Lu fall in love through their correspondence, even though she has no idea he's not her betrothed.
I absolutely adored Lu and Eamon's letters! They're funny and adorable and sometimes suggestive. It's easy to see how these two managed to fall for one another. I loved Eamon! He is super sweet, despite life not being kind to him. His father and neighbors think he's the devil's child because of his red hair and habit of locking himself away in his smithy. He definitely deserved to find true love! Obviously, Lu has to show up sometime and chase after Aidan, who swiftly leaves. Eamon picks up the pieces and marries Lu himself. They had already formed a kind of friendship, so it wasn't too much of a hardship for them to marry. But oh my goodness, their wedding night. Soooo hilarious and awkward! It is definitely not your typical historical romance sex scene. Both of them want it, but neither knows what the heck they're doing. It's super funny, but still kind of sexy. However, once the truth comes out (Lu has a secret, too!) and they still want each other...holy cow! Hot, hot hot! Humor, adorableness, mystery, the paranormal, sexiness! Entwined just has it all!

Melody is a flutist in a struggling orchestra, and she is done with dating musicians! At least until the new conductor, Wolfgang, strolls in. He's super hot, but he's also quite stuffy at first glace. He's not there to date though, especially since Melody looks like his thieving ex-girlfriend. Of course, the more time they spend together, the more they look past appearances.
I just really enjoyed Playing the Maestro. It's a quick, straightforward romance. I like Mel and Wolf and thought they were a good fit. Even though I'm not into classical music at all, it was interesting to learn more about this world. What really stood out to me was the conflict though. Wolf's ex really is terrible! And I liked how instead of just letting Mel go, he chases after her and makes sure he clears the air about what's really going on. No long drawn out break up here!
