Where is my own dorky Fallon? Beam me up to the colony, I BEG!
I knew I was going to love him as soon as he declared he was ready to take more than one wife back in Book 1, despite not knowing what he would do with more than one. He exuded the most precious dopey golden retriever energy and his book more than delivered. The humour was, once again, perfect and there were many scenes that had me cackling. Keyword: snake.
I wasn’t sure about Darcy when we met her in the first installment, but of course Ursa made me love her too *sighs* She was raised to be the perfect wife by a controlling mother and I was proud of her for rebelling by joining the bride program. This beautiful story just confirms how much I love Sarah’s prose and storytelling.
It took more than halfway of the book for Orek and Sorcha to actually have their first kiss, but there was such a natural flow to the way their bond and relationship developed that I didn’t notice.
Orek is so wonderful as an MMC: a protective cinnamon roll that grew up to be a fine male despite his upbringing and entourage. My heart ached for him.
And Sorcha, oh my dear fellow oldest daughter. Taking on responsibilities and helping out her mother had become so natural to her that she didn’t realize she needed to live her own life as well until her halfling came along.
She is no warrior or soldier, but she is fierce and protective of her loved ones. She proved it when she went after Orek and charged right in.
The epilogue was perfection and I wished there were other words I could use to describe how much I loved this book....more

When Ocean Cardwell is offered a marriage of convenience of one year to a pack of 3 Alphas, she doesn’t immediately jump at the chance. Until her uncle adds an incentive that she cannot turn her nose at: him signing off on her trust fund after the marriage contract expires instead of enduring another five years in an emotionally abusive and fat-phobic household. What she doesn’t know is that the DuPont Pack is her scent match and Cameron, Micah and Everett will do anything to win her heart and turn that year into forever.
Oh, the feels this book gave me. Just the first few chapters made me want to curl up into a ball. I may not be plus-sized but Ocean’s situation with her relatives was way too relatable. I don’t even remember the last time I had felt such rage towards a character like Laura, Ocean’s aunt. I am sure many of us have heard the classic ‘I only want the best for you’ to justify any harmful gesture or words thrown our way. They are so set in their own ways and beliefs that they don’t realize their own toxic behavior.
As always, Devyn handled everything beautifully with her writing and the characters. Ocean has become one of my favorite FMC because her inner strength is admirable. Her Alphas were perfect for her; Cameron with his easygoing charm, Micah with his quiet strength and Everett, the people-hater and ultimate protector. For once, I went in with Rett as my favorite because of his scent alone, and although Micah made me waver for a bit, I finished the book without changing my mind. Read the altar scene and you will understand, holy moly.
Well woven throughout the story was a little corporate and legal drama that never overshadowed the main story. And that epilogue? It was so beautiful and meaningful, my hopeless romantic self was tearing up. I also absolutely LOVED the meaning of flowers/plants at the beginning of each chapter: so thoughtful and informative. Devyn deserves a medal for the amount of research she did for it!

After that cliffhanger in Part 1, I am a happy camper that there was no long wait for Part 2!
The conclusion to the duet had a great mix of romance, sports and tension. I wished the douche Daniel got served a bigger lesson but I was also glad he didn’t waste more ink on the pages. This book is now one of my top 2024 reads. I just didn’t want it to end!
Left on her own after the death of her mother, Cherry makes the mistake of going to loan sharks in order to make rent as her sole income from the factory is no longer enough after a rent increase. When a goon comes to collect, she has no choice but to join a mail-order bride program in order to go off planet, right to Zabria Prinar One.
Despite not knowing what he would do with a wife, Silent Silar gives his vote for the bride program to be green lighted. He definitely doesn’t know what a human female looks like, but a tail would be most helpful for work around the alien ranch. Or at least, 3 arms.
The humour and banter between the characters were top notch. I was cackling and wheezing at many scenes. I wanted to shake Silar a few times but I could not help but fall in love with that silent but caring cowboy. Book boyfriend status acquired! Cherry was wonderful with her vulnerability and strength, and Silar did not stand a chance. One month trial? He was ready for forever upon the first meeting.

The first few chapters made my heart ache for Juno. I can’t imagine being bonded against your will during a vulnerable time and have your body betray you because of your designation’s biology.
The events flowed very well together and that time skip of 3 years was much needed in order for Juno to have started her healing process before meeting Ollie. It is the first OV I have read where not every member of an established pack was immediately smitten or scent sympathetic with the omega FMC and it was very well done. I loved the individual dates with Ollie, Miles and Everett, and the fact that Juno got intimate with Miles first, the pack’s beta and Isaac’s bonded, made perfect sense given her history.

This was such a fun, great read!
Chloe has no time for silly things like being matched with an alien by an AI system. She has to meet with a potential investor for her small business to take off but the universe definitely has other plans when 3 Gaenthians ring her doorbell. Her fated mate, an important commander, has been found and the aliens are there to escort her to him. Her protests fall on deaf ears and she is whisked away. She, however, won’t complain about the hunk that is her guard, subcommander Nitiel.
The banter between Chloe and Nitiel made me cackle so many times! The humour was great and our poor MMC tried so hard to remain a gentleman. And why did mishaps keep happening to them? Were they really that unlucky or something else was at play?

What a conclusion to Elio and Deirdre’s story!
Book 1 ended on our crazy MMC announcing that his Songbird would simply have to marry him to keep herself safe from her father’s enemy. A Vow So Soulless opens up on Deirdre’s response to that outrageous command, which is a big fat NO. But of course, Elio is all about what she needs, not wants, and that is him.
Their story being told over the course of two books was a necessary move in my opinion. Their relationship needed to run its course and the progression is much more natural this way. This book alone, I have highlighted so many passages! Elio is as crazy as he is so damn adorable sometimes. Peek at his dramatic self here:
’Much as I try to ignore it, I feel worse and worse as the day goes on. I think I’m going into Deirdre withdrawal. It makes me feel like my whole fucking body is shutting down.’
’I have no idea what we’re doing anymore. But as long as Allie wants to touch me, I’ll take every moment of that.’

Never thought I would fall in love with a book involving F1 racing but here I am.
Allie is a PR liaison working in Savannah and she knows that she would be making much more money if she did the same job in a bigger city like New York. However, she is content where she is because it allows her to be close to her parents and help them, especially with her dad’s disability. When she is called to her boss’ office on a Friday afternoon, the last thing she expects is to sign an NDA from Titan Industries and be asked to help clean up their star race driver’s image by being his fake girlfriend. Despite having her own reservations, the monetary benefits outweigh the cons and she agrees. Next? Destination: Dubai. And Oliver Stone is definitely not the bad boy she pictured.
The pacing was great and I honestly had a hard time putting the book down. The balance between the romance and behind the scenes of the racing industry was just perfect for me. As someone who finds formula 1 racing incredibly boring (sorry!), reading about it here was rather interesting. I’ve read plenty of books with the fake dating trope, but Oliver and Allie’s story felt somehow different in a very good way. I loved how their relationship developed and our dear MMC fell first although their initial attraction was mutual.
Allie was a great FMC: sweet and level-headed, but not afraid to be vulnerable and show her emotions either. And Oliver? Gosh, I loved him. All he cared about was his career so despite agreeing to the fake girlfriend plan, he didn’t make any effort to put it in motion at first. Of course, he couldn’t resist Allie for long ;) And when she couldn’t decide between two books to buy and he told her to get all AND pay for them? Book boyfriend status acquired! The epilogue was just perfect, the cherry on top.

I am a big fan of the Slate City series so you can imagine my excitement when a new Omegaverse one was announced! Clarity Coast series kicks off with Endless, Isolde’s story. With her ex being the best man at her sister’s wedding, our Omega needs a date in order not to face him alone. Hiring a pack of escorts? Definitely best done when drunk.
Upon meeting Isolde at the airport, the 5 males of the St. James pack realize she is their scent match. In this series, omegas can only recognize their match during their heat so although our girl is attracted to their scents, to her, their time together has an expiry date. Not to mention that her last relationship has left emotional scars that have not yet healed.
I loved Isolde as an FMC and just wanted to wrap her in blankets and protect her. Her fears and insecurities were real, and they didn’t magically disappear just because she met the right persons. Her pack knew when to step in and become her shield, and when to simply stay back so she could fight some battles on her own. My eyes were not always dry, I tell you. Now the men…
Can you believe I have been unable to pick a clear cut favourite up until now? Rowan, Hawk, Vaughn, Cade and Joel all had something I love. They were well nuanced and the bromance scene between Vaughn and Joel was wonderful, I loved that moment. And the chase scene? Holy moly geezus on a cracker— that is all I shall say while I lie on the floor.
Devyn mentioned that this series is like an homage to her beloved ocean and I felt that. The vibes are much less intense than Slate City but when it comes to hurt/comfort trope, she is a pro. I cannot wait for Ocean’s book and I leave you with one of the best passages in the book:
”I want all of you. I know it’s crazy and impossible, but f*ck me, I want all of you at once.”
Rowan crawled next to us. “Why is that crazy and impossible?”
I strained to kiss him and he closed the distance. Too gentle for how I felt. “Because I’m not cheese.”

This book took me on quite the ride: I have giggled, gasped, cried, and melted. Oh boy, I have highlighted so many passages!
I love the world of the stone sky gods and their brides, and here we catch up with mate mad Skallagrim. After eons spent in madness, he finally finds his little star, his fated mate, in Suvi. I really appreciate how he doesn’t immediately snap back to normal, and has to work to regain his memories. Our FMC has her own emotional trials and must often pull her strength from the memories of her deceased sister. Those scenes made me tear up.
It is not a short book, but nothing dragged as everything had its place. Despite being fates mates, Skalla and Suvi still needed to learn about each other. Their banter was top tier and always love a good sass! By the time love made its appearance, I was sold.
The chapter with Wylfrael to connect with book 1 was perfect, and so was the ending line to circle back to what has been a source of courage for Suvi throughout her whole journey.

Anyone up for a road trip to the museum in SF?
Anna Kincaid has made a life for herself, away from her mother and her parade of endless boyfriends. A small apartment, a cat named Captain, and a job she loves with good health benefits? Yes, please. If only those migraines could leave her alone. She is content with the routine she has set in her life so the last thing she expects is to be involved in a robbery at the museum and be carried away by her favourite stone statue.
Frey has spent centuries as a stone gargoyle, having been cursed and stripped of the magick that gave him life. His only solace was the shared consciousness with his kin in the museum. Until he felt the touch of his heartsong, his fated mate.
Finding himself in a much more modern civilization is the least of his problems when his mate is more than reluctant to accept him and the bond. Not to mention that he returns to his stone state at sunrise.
Frey and Anna were amazing characters. Our gargoyle was definitely overprotective but how determined he was to care for our FMC was a major winner (and the gray sweatpants and open shirts). With the childhood she had, I could not blame Anna for being wary of Frey and his talk of mates. But after a while, she was starting to frustrate me. She wasn’t even trying to meet Frey halfway and just let him give and give. I was glad she realized that though and I loved the timing of their love confession. The longer epilogue was great and served the overall pacing of the story well.
I appreciated that even magick couldn’t make Anna’s migraines disappear completely, but was a temporary solution. It was so good to see Carys and Gav again, Carys is my baby girl!
I am ready for June and Alaric!!!
I leave you with this unhinged Frey:
So Frey bided his time. And snatched up one of his mate’s underthings to sniff to soothe the worst of his frustration.
[…]
Chewing her cheek, she turned back into the apartment, only to find Frey already a step outside her bedroom door, angrily chewing the last of his steak and inexplicably clutching one of her bras.
