There’s a couple of scenes in the hospital,and the stress Sasha suffered seeing her 3 year old daughter in that hospital bed,but nothing so severe i couldn’t continue. The donor for the bone marrow transplantation was not a real surprise,if i’m honest. The reason Sasha left 4 years ago,was supposedly because she cheated on Savage. With his brother,Sin. What really happened,was something else,and that becomes clear later on in the story. Savage may have been hateful at first,but he turned around once he admitted to himself that things didn’t add up. Seeing his daughter in a hospital bed softened him further. Hearing why Sasha really left was the decider,and he could only hope she’d want him back in her life again. And until danger came knocking,again,he was making good progress……
Like i said,a decent story,with a decent background. Could’ve used a little more depth,but i still enjoyed it enough....more

And not “just” that,her kidnapper doesn’t hesitate to hurt,degrade and use her body against her from the start. He tells her it was easy to take her,to make her disappear from the life she was living,and that it’s her own fault. He keeps telling her she’s made for what he’s putting her through. He knows everything about her,and uses it against her. He pushes her to accept what she is…..his slave. But even though Thalia knows there’s a reason her body reacts the way it does,she also knows she will NEVER be what he wants her to be! Because she knows she’ll never give up who she is,and what she deserves….her freedom. That strong will of hers gets her into trouble,though…. Because her Master’s partner is a sadistic bastard that doesn’t hesitate to show her the error in her thinking. She’s theirs to do with whatever they want,however they want. And she’s theirs to sell….to whoever pays the most. When the day of the auction arrives,she knows she’ll have to at least behave like a properly trained slave,or chances are she’ll be in for a life of more misery…..
Next up:to give me a better understanding i read the bonus story James at the Auction. To hear the POV of the man that ended up buying Thalia gave me hope. Because even though he was the one that managed to convince her owners Marcus and Anthony to hold the auction sooner than planned,he sounded like a man with a conscience. Even though he’d watched the footage of her being “trained”. Even though he got hard seeing it. Because this man planned to save her,to show her how beautiful her submission could be. And he started showing that from the moment he had her kneeling at his feet.
After that i decided to read the Kalen and James Flashback. Seeing a young James realizing he’d never be able to live his life the way he wanted to. Being on summer holiday from University with his friend Kalen. A Scot that lived a different life than he did,but was as close as a brother because he was the same as he,a Dominant. It gives more insight into the man that bought Thalia,and i’m grateful for the glimpse.
So,now i’m ready to hear what happens next in Striking a Balance. Where Thalia may be safe with James,and submission is not the problem….not really. Because the problem is that she’s stuck somehow. And even though James loves the way she submits so very beautifully,he can’t help,but worry. Because in the normal day world she’s not coping….at all. So,in the end,he asks Kalen for help. His sister Ailsa is a therapist working with him at Purgatory,a training house for those into the lifestyle. It’s there,in Scotland,,she has the breakthrough they both need,and it gives them hope for a happy future together…..the future they deserve so much after everything they’ve been through. But James has to return to London because of his work…. And what happens there,leaves me with a killer cliffhanger!
So,i’m going straight to Salvaged by Love….. And that one put me through the wringer,again! James was in an accident on his way back to Thalia,and even though he wasn’t badly hurt,it shook them both. Plus,it made Thalia realize she loved James,and couldn’t live without him. She knew she had to wait until the deadline of them being together for 6 months to tell him,but she hoped he felt the same. Hearing he loved her too was the most wonderful news she could’ve gotten,and seeing what he’d done to make sure she was taken care of in any situation,made her appreciate him even more. Life seemed bright,the future ready to start. Meeting his family was the next step,and his sister Katherine was the first to meet her. After a tense introduction,they hit it off,and James and Thalia were invited to stay at Katherine’s for a while. And then disaster struck……or rather Marcus did. Only this time,Thalia had people to fight for,and even though she picked her battles,she didn’t surrender. Would James find her in time,and in what condition would she be?? Would their love give them the strenght they were going to need? After the last page,i needed a moment to catch my breath. Because how much can a person endure without breaking? It was understandable Thalia had scars,mentally and physically. Having James meant the world,but he needed help too….because he couldn’t do it alone. And it was so good to see they got the support they both needed!
Now all that’s left,is a wedding to plan….in Tying the Knot. And what a wedding it was…..everyone close to them was there. Getting dressed was chaos,but everything worked out in the end. James sneaked a special gift in to make her feel him during the ceremony. Kalen and Ailsa sneaked in her tablet so she could check up on the website she’d built with James containing a forum solely for the survivors of the Williams brothers,causing a panic when nobody could find her…. Their vows were beautiful,even if they both ended up improvising. The wedding speeches were….unique….and the party a total succes. The team that arrived at the rescue before James could,had a special gift…..one that ensured her safety even more so…. In short,it was the most wonderful wedding they could’ve gotten!
Only that branding….i know why,i know how,but the ceremony…..? It all took place just 3 days before the wedding,at Sean’s club,SW3. And even though James wasn’t keen on the idea when Thalia’d asked him months ago,he understood her reasons. So,unknown to her,he’d done his research. Nick and Analiese knew the perfect man for the job,David. And everyone that mattered,in the scene,was in on the plan…..except Thalia. The entire night was a surprise for her,one that would only go through if she was 100% sure.
All that’s left now,is the Christmas they spent at Purgatory…. With some very special gifts. Where James gives Thalia the very thing she’d dreamed about,and more. Where Thalia and Maggie get to play together. Where Kalen and James team up on a punishment for Thalia,and share her after. And when Thalia finds out that Maggie is pregnant.
This was a story that gave me all the feels,angst,agony,despair,hope,anger,and happiness. It showed me that even in her darkest moments,Thalia was meant to find someone that would give her the freedom to be the woman she as meant to be. To free the masochist within,of her own free will,to surrender her heart and soul to the only person that was worthy….her Master,James. He was the rock that stood by her through everything,that suffered with her,celebrated her recovery with her,and gave her the world through his love.

Surrender brought the clarity i needed in the end. Frankie started to understand Maxim a little better as he opened up to her a little more. And Maxim seemed ready to give her what she needed,a life with him as well as her siblings. How that was supposed to work remained a mystery at first,because even though her siblings were taken care of,they didn’t know him,not really. And that meant the older ones especially didn’t really trust him. Add to that the situation with his family,and his grandfather in particular,and a happy after seemed…difficult. How to deal with that man,that was the question. Because Anatoli is a controlling,mean and ruthless old man,determined to bring Maxim to heel. The old Maxim might have considered it…..maybe….but this Maxim? He’ll go to war before he’ll be forced to do that bastard’s bidding ever again! Even if he has to ask the only man he doesn’t want to see for help. His halfbrother,Vadim. A man that’s worse than he is,a man that suffered at the hands of their family as much,and maybe even more than him.
A lot happened in this last part of Maxim and Frankie’s story and it kept me glued to the pages until i had all the answers. To see him do his best to give her what she needed,to see him change was good. It made him human,it made him likeable,and it made him worthy. To see Frankie grow from that desperate girl that was responsible for her siblings to a woman that acknowledged her need for a life of her own was good. To see her find a balance and accept the kind of woman she was,gave me hope. For these two tortured souls to build a life together,with her siblings,that was good.
Vadim has his story next. Am i going to read it? Am i curious enough to go through that kind of agony again? Maybe later…..right now,i want to soothe my battered heart…… ...more
Any hope i had of things getting better were quickly squashed when i started Obey. Not that she acknowledges the fact,but since the only time she can think clearly,the only time she feels alive,is when Maxim has done his thing says it all. Maxim tries to fight the attraction between them as much as she does,but fails just as miserably. When she finds her mother’s new “boyfriend” pawing her sister,she relocates her siblings. To her surprise,Maxim makes sure they have a safe place to stay,without any strings attached. When her mother’s found dead,he arranges the funeral and everything related. And then HIS family arrives…..his grandfather,and his uncle Sevastyn. And her assessment of Maxim shifts,again….. He already shared some of his past with her,but those bits are so much clearer now she’s met them. But later on,Sevastyn shows her,very painfully,that she doesn’t know half of it……and how little she means to Maxim. Only he underestimated Maxim’s determination to make him pay for everything. And Frankie still doesn’t understand the lenghts he’ll go to to keep her,or why….

Plus he has a hit on him…..someone wants him dead,but who? One thing’s for sure,he’s not going to allow her to get hurt,or worse….killed because of him! But Hannah is determined to stay,to stand by his side,for better or worse. And she told her parents about him….. Her mother may have an open mind,but her father?? When Armando sees his ex at a party,he realizes he doesn’t feel anything,not even anger. Her new fiancé may have stolen her,and he has every right to be angry at them,but he couldn’t care less. All he can see is the beauty that is his girl,all he needs is her. Does that mean he’s ready to commit to his Flower? Or is he going to get killed before he’s ready to admit his feelings?
This story didn’t have a dull moment. If it wasn’t the heat between Hannah and Armando,it was them trying to get to know eachother better. And while she worked hard to make her shop a succes,he was doing what the Don told him,keep out of trouble,while trying to find out who wanted him dead. The answer to that wasn’t a real surprise,though….but the retribution was well done. All in all a good story,one i enjoyed from start to finish....more

Now the situation is very different…she owns the flower shop she used to work in,and his fiancée left him for another man when he was convicted. Even though initially he decides to stay with her to make sure she doesn’t tell anyone about the man he had to kill in her shop,the feelings she evokes in him,makes him want to keep her. She makes him feel at a time where he thought he was beyond caring about anything. And even though she had a teenage crush on him,the feelings he evokes in her now are véry mature. He may have forced her to accept his company,she doesn’t want him to leave… Because he’s the first man to see her for who she is,and stay. But whoever wants him dead isn’t going to give up,and she might end up as collateral damage…… Leaving me with a cliffhanger that Rooted in Sin should solve....more

Escaping hell alone wasn’t an option for Grace,she needed to free as many fellow captives as she could. But her tormentors wouldn’t let them go that easy….and they killed everyone but her. Faced with no other option,Grace would rather choose death over going back,so she jumped……only to survive. She even managed to cross the Mexican border,and found sanctuary in an American church nearby. Until another cartel invaded that sanctuary and dragged her back to Mexico…..right into the hands of Elias. He wanted to know where she’d been kept before her escape because he was after her owner,Andres. But she couldn’t give him what he wanted……her conscience couldn’t handle the death of more innocent lives. Her strenght started to impress Elias,her kindness to his mother in spite of his treatment of her slowly softened his heart. But he was determined to get the information he needed,and if tormenting her didn’t work,maybe kindness would? Even if his fiancée seemed to hate her on sight because he seemed to care more about Grace than her.
And then,just when they started to grow closer,when they started to understand and know eachother better,she was taken…….
Grace’s courage,her strenght….it kept her going when others failed. Elias may have been a bad guy,but he still had a heart,and she found it. He may have had an agenda,he may have had trouble trusting others,but her honesty got to him. Even in his darkness,she managed to bring some light. I loved how patient and kind he was with her,giving her a much needed anchor in a life that had been nothing but pain. And i loved how she still was able to see the good in people in spite of everything that had been done to her. These two were so beautiful together once Elias took the time to see who she was!...more

Filled to the brim with emotions,suspense and heat,i felt i couldn’t catch my breath until the very end. Nothing was what it seemed,and assuming who was on what side was futile. Just when i thought i had it all figured out,new information came to light,or something happened,to make me second guess everything. The story was so well built that it had me glued to the pages the entire time,giving me every emotion you can think of.
Mia was in a bad place,and with amnesia she didn’t have any idea who she was. Jenny was her only friend,helping her score money to feed her addiction. Until the day she asked the wrong man…..and she ended up having to taste a shipment of cocaine for some very bad men. If only that was it…..no,their boss decided to take her with him,back to his home in Russia. Because she intrigued him,and Sasha wanted to find out why. Detox was hell,but what came after was worse,far worse! Because the world Sasha lived in was a dark one,a violent one,and Mia needed to find a way out of there,fast! If only she knew where to…..but Sasha was already doing his research,peeling back the layers of who she was. The fragments of her returning memory were confusing and hurting her,but who could she trust enough to share them with? The only one that she could trust,who had been honest with her from the start,was the very same that hurt her,used and degraded her…..Sasha. The world he lived in was determined to get rid of her,though….because they all saw her as a threat. But all she wanted,was to feel safe,wanted and cared for,even if the person she turned to for that little bit of affection she needed so badly didn’t seem to care….

What i found was a beautiful little gem,written with care and love. Showing me that you don’t need your eyes to see the world. Telling me that there ís still beauty to be found amidst the ugliness. If only you open up,and feel…. Eve may have been living in isolation,she may have been the odd one out,being a blind albino. But she felt,deeply…..she saw the heart and soul….the pain and suffering….and not just because she’d lived it. Knowing she found the perfect man to give her the push she needed. The man that saw the strong woman she still was,and not the broken doll everyone else did. The man that cared enough,that had the patience she needed,that would catch her if she fell. And Jake was that man….. He and his team got wind of a contract out to grab her,and intervened. Once he read her file,he couldn’t get her out of his mind. And once he saw her,and talked to her,he knew he couldn’t step away if his life depended on it. Beth wasn’t in a good place,even though she was home with her parents. And Jake saw what she was struggling with,straight away. Her parents may have meant well,they may have still loved their daughter,they were also smothering her. Her mother especially,pushing her from one therapist to the next,treating her like she’d break. The best thing that could happen to Beth,actually happened because she was in danger. Because Jake and his team took her from her home to theirs…. And once his team got past the fact he put his hands on her,they saw he was giving her the only thing she needed. He treated her as a woman,one that he desired,one that he could see a future with….. But if you’re ok with that, you’re going to enjoy this dark beauty! I loved it from start to evil finish! (I díd enjoy the “tamer/nicer” end too,but you know me…..i so love it in the dark,lol.)

I love how both Sabella and Angelo were drawn to eachother. Even though it was a business arrangement,he liked what he saw in her,and wanted to get to know her better. Made promises he meant to keep. And she liked what she saw in him,too….even if her parents showed only contempt for him and his father. Keeping her contact with him a secret,is exactly what a 16 year old would do,even if she was a good girl. The guilt she felt after he betrayed her was relatable,too. Because by that time,they’d been messaging for a whole year,and he’d been sweet to her,interested in her daily life. And still he came back the next year,making her wonder…. With her father’s strange behaviour,and the discussion she heard between her parents,she couldn’t help,but want to find out what was going on,right?
The start of their story may have been sweet,but what followed most certainly was not. Following the steps Sabella and Angelo take made me weary of where they’d end up. Lovers,or enemies for life? Her father’s meddling,pushing her towards the best friend that feels like a brother,doesn’t work,because she’s already hooked on Angelo,even if she doesn’t want to be. When the masks come off,who will be the real villain in Angelo and Sabella’s story?? The dark angel claiming her firsts,or the businessman that looks down upon him?

Finding them in his office,standing over her father’s body,shocks her. But what happens after is stuff made of nightmares…. Because her father wasn’t the man she always thought he was. And the mess left in his wake isn’t something you can brush under the carpet. Not only that,Angelo’s father wants her dead,but dies himself from a heart attack. Leaving a devastated Angelo as head of the business. And once he gets his head back in the game,he comes for Sabella. To get what was promised to him all those years ago. No best friend will take her away from him. Even if it means he has to kill Colin for trying to marry her to keep her safe from him. Is that the worst that happened? No….their story only goes further downhill from there…..
I was hoping that Tears Like Acid could be the cure to my aching heart….right? I should’ve known that Charmaine wouldn’t give Angelo and Sabella what they needed just yet,though… Even though we get to see Angelo change his mind a few times,he’s still hurting too much to see the truth. He may act harsh and cruel towards Sabella,but still tries to make up for some of his actions. The conflicting emotions he has are slowly killing him,but he still can’t find it in himself to trust his wife. Even though he’s obsessed with her,he resents her at the same time for that obsession. Banishing her to the abandoned house on his property may seem like the perfect solution,but what’s the use if you can’t stay away…. Ok,she can’t get access to the information he’s sure she’s looking for in order to betray him,but that’s it. And why doesn’t he believe her when she insists she doesn’t want to betray him??? Why does he keep thinking she will,is that because of what her family did?? Asking her is useless as long as he doesn’t really listen to the answer,or look at her for what she really is….an innocent girl trying to adapt in a cruel world?

If only Angelo didn’t do what he was so very good at….. Seeing how close Sabella and little Sophie had become in such a short time,he thought he’d found the solution to binding Sabella to him indefinitely. Yes,he’d admitted to himself how he really felt about his wife,but did he talk to her?? Did he even try to give them a chance to have the relationship they both needed so badly??
Sabella and Angelo’s story has been so heartbreaking until now,and i couldn’t stop thinking about what had happened so far. Fearing what still might lay ahead,i equally dreaded and needed Kisses Like Rain. But i knew one thing for sure….nothing was going to stop me from finding out if they got the HEA they deserved. Even though yes,it could get worse….. Even though it hurt even more….. Even though there were times i started to think the universe was working against a HEA for this tormented couple….. There was só much going on in this final book,good ánd bad,that my mind was spinning.
Every small step forward was hard earned,and still not enough. Both struggled with the feelings they had for eachother. Add in the children under Angelo’s care,with a very painful past of their own,and how to care for them,and the situation becomes that more difficult. Keeping them from Sabella hurts them,but his trust in her is still nihil….even though he finally admits his feelings for her…..to himself. She puts family and loved ones before everything else,but he doesn’t see that yet. Including her feelings for him…..in spite of everything. Until he’s forced to acknowledge the truth. But it might be too late…..with disastrous consequences.
Can Angelo save Sabella and the children? And can he save his marriage to the only woman he’s ever loved? Will she ever be able to forgive him for what happened to her because of him? And what about the children….will they be ok after all they’ve been through?

And enjoy it i did,in fact i loved it! Even if Alastair St.Erth treated Catherine Wendover badly….even if he was the villain that got the girl,in spite of everything he did to her.
Just because her family was despicable,it didn’t mean Catherine deserved St.Erth’s ruthless treatment. To be demeaned,humiliated,hurt and used. But even though Alastair thought she was like the rest of her family at first,Catherine turned out to have hidden depths. She may have been innocent and naive,she also had a backbone. And she was kind,sweet and caring….in short,she was not like the rest of her family!
She knew she had to marry to get her family out of debt,but all she longed for was someone that loved her. To have a fulfilling life together,to find at least some happiness. She was also an innocent that turned out to enjoy the way he fucked her,once he’d bothered to get her wet and “willing” before taking her….. And in turn,that made him enjoy it more too,made him want to do it more often. In fact,before long,he found himself obsessed with it!
In the meantime,her family was pressing her to convince her husband to give them money,to pay their debts. After hearing from her husband what her father had done to his mother,she decided to find out what her father’s side of the story was. The answer was shocking…..and it made her look at her husband differently. Knowing why he wanted his revenge,and how he aimed to get it,may have been cold and calculating,but at the same time,she couldn’t really blame him,could she? Yes,he’d hurt her,but he never actually harmed her,did he? But with her reasons for fighting the pull she’d felt against all odds gone,knowing he’d probably never feel the same….where did it all leave her??
This was a story that was…..intense. Intense,dark,depraving and hot as Hades. A story that makes you wonder if you need a therapist because,in spite of all the triggers,you loved every second. A story where the villain got the girl as well as his revenge.
Even though St.Erth did get his revenge,it turned out differently than he expected. Yes,he was rough,ruthless and cold towards Catherine at first. Only once he had her,once he knew her,her purpose started to change. He was still rough,but with the intention of pleasing her. He was still cold towards her family,but actually looked forward to having his own family,and not just as a means for revenge. Somehow,she stopped being a part of his plans for revenge,and started to be a part of his future.
Even though she didn’t want to be where she was,and even though she tried to flee at first,Catherine knew she had to accept her fate and make the best of it. She was resilient,and had a backbone i admired. She was also kind and sweet,with a forgiving heart….for her husband,that was. Once she saw the man behind the facade,she started to develop feelings. Started to have hope she díd find a man that could give her what she’d craved for most of her life…..
Their marriage may have started on bad terms,and may have been unconventional,but in the end they made it work. And that,right there,was what i love the most….their dynamic was unique,but it was theirs,and they both enjoyed where they were in the end....more

This was a deliciously hot and wonderfully morally grey story,and i loved every second! Hailey was such a sweet girl,doing what she could to make the best of a bad situation. And when she discovered she liked certain things Jack did to her,she didn’t shy away from it. Instead,she learned to listen to her body’s needs,as well as (in the end) those of her heart. Jack may have been a mobster,but he was so very protective,and possessive, of Hailey. He saw her for the woman she was meant to be,and gave her exactly what she needed. And he was ready to kill any man that might be interested in her. I have to admit that i’m still a little worried about Don Bianco,though…. Will i have to see him again in Clara’s story? This was the most delicious story,one only Trent can come up with. His “Heroes” enjoy what they do to their women,very much. They crave hurting them,pushing them,putting them in difficult positions,knowing that’s what their women crave just as much. And those women may protest at time,but they need it just as bad as their men do. Rick and Genie’s story was exactly like that,they were made for eachother,in spite of the age-gap. In spite of what everone else thought,they were perfect together.
Seeing old friends was a bonus i enjoyed very much! A visit to White Valley is always a treat,and i hope to visit again in the future …..please,Trent?...more
